Suspense and Meetings

Following the man who just tried to do something to my Dad, he removes the cap and I try to see his face a couple of times except that he's not turning to look behind him like he did before but I see a small scar by the left side of his lip.

A thin and short scar, looks like one gotten from a missed bullet or a knife cut to the face.

As soon as I muster the courage to apprehend him and see his face, a phone suddenly rings out, takes a second for me to know that it's mine.

Shit.

I should've known better than leaving my phone on ring.

I'm directly behind him at the time but he turns around in that nano second and punches me in the face, obviously aiming for my eyes.

I fall down and he uses the opportunity to run away and since I'm too half blind to see anyway, I give up on following him.

I pick the call from my phone that has been ringing all along.

"Hello?"

"Miss Carlin?"

"Yes. Who's this?"
