Prankster Duo

Matt felt stupefied, even when everything was back to normal, his brain yet has not finished processing the fable-like an event. His courage while complaining about the smartphone shaped silver lump directly to Hermes' face. The lovely and mesmerizing Maia chided her son. And absolutely about the merging process that was stunningly mind-blowing.

"Will anyone trust me? Hell no, even I can't believe myself. Hahaha". Imagining himself telling the tale to others tickled Matt's funny bones. He convinced that he better brought the story to his grave.

His sight fell to the smartphone in his hand. Tinkering it a bit to make sure that it can function as usual, Matt stuffed the smartphone into his pocket. Matt halted his plans to update his vlogs and rushed towards a nearby bus stop.

On the returned trip, Matt took out his phone and give it a detailed inspection. He failed to find the sim card slot or the sd card ones. Other than that, it was the same as any other smartphone physically.

" Jack and Jason won't notice the difference in a glance. So I need not hide the smartphone from them and continue to act as normal." He hoped. Matt then unlocked the phone. He checked all apps and found a new icon on the screen. It was a blue thunderbolt on a white feather with 'DivineStore" written underneath.

Matt had a hard time maintaining his curiosity under control. His finger itching to tap the icon and launched the application. But he realized that the feathers were symbols of the trickster god and no good will come if he was impatient. He needs to find an empty room or place far from people to safely test the application. His heart beats faster and suddenly he felt like he was holding a nuke switch on the tip of his finger.

Millions 'What if' concerns arose inside his head. Some are funny while another spelt Armageddon and the end of the world. These concerns were not normal for a 13-year-old boy, yet he held god's tools, a divine crafted in his hands. Even the news of its existence can bring world war.

Matt stopped his train of thought when he saw his destination. He stood up and rang the bus bell. Matt got down in front of a wholesale marketplace. He needs to buy enough watercolours and brushes for the orphanage residents. But before that, he needed to stop by an ATM to drew some banknotes. It was the era of cryptocurrency and electronic wallets, but not all places adopted this payment system.

Matt came out from shopping 15 minutes passed at 3 o'clock. He walked the remaining distance to the orphanage.

He tried to open the back door of the orphanage, but it's locked. Normally at this time of the day, everyone was in the activity room on the first floor. Matt put down the stuff he bought and open the door with his keys. He has a key since he lived here permanently in the past 6 months.

Matt got in and lock the door. He left the snacks and cheeses on the kitchen counter and proceeded to the activities room upstairs. Beside the stairs, Matt saw the orphanage office door was ajar.

He stepped into the office and saw a lady behind the desk typing on the computer.

"Mom, I'm back". This lady was Lynne and his mother. She has black straight hair and hazelnut brown eyes. Lynne managed the orphanage since 4 years ago since Matt's aunt the previous manager died of old age.

" Yes Matt, and how was your day?". Lynne rose from her chair and gave a peck to each of her son's cheeks.

"It fantastic mom, couldn't be better." Matt hugged her mom and returned the kisses. As the last child of the family, Matt spoiled by everyone especially his mother.

"Are Dad n co still holed up at the office working?" asked Matt.

"Your dad still at the office but Jack n Josh is upstairs with the others. They wanted to see you. Company secret they said," Lynne answered.

" Ok mom, see you later."

Lynne continued her work on the computer while Matt got upstairs. He stopped outside of the activities room. A doubt sprouted in his heart, what if his brothers found out his smartphone secrets?

Suddenly, Clara opened the door and almost walked into Matt.

"Sorry, Matt. Ah, you bought the colours here! Perfect, just in time." Pleased, Clara took the package from Matt's hand and hurried into the room. Matt still startled, followed behind her slowly. Inside the room, there were 12 orphans, 2 other caretakers, and his brothers, Jack, Jason and Brad.

Sighting of Matt at the door, 2 towering figures rushed for the hazed Matt. With one person on each side, Matt got dragged out of the room. Sandwiched between the 210cm brothers, Matt figure looked like a child going to be bullied. The trio disappeared from the activity room and made a beeline directly to their secret base in the orphanage attics.

Arrived at their base, Jack and Jason placed Matt on a chair while the duo sits on the makeshift table made of crates.

Jack 25 years old majored in smartphone programming, while the other 24 years old Jason majored in hardware and designs for smartphones.

"Cough it out," said Jack. He loved imitating old mafia flicks and the targets of his antics absolutely Matt! Fortunately, it was mostly harmless fun.

Matt fished out his smartphone from his pocket and dangled it in front of the pair. Josh the impatient one grabbed the smartphone and tinkered with it.

Jack took his own phone and set up the Bluetooth connection. Jack's smartphone was bulky. It can be unfolded 3 times to be a tablet, this is the fruits of this duo research. But this technology still can't hit the market because the consumers are not ready yet, this is according to their Dad words.

"Connections establish,.. files being transferred.. and done," said Josh. He copied the usage logs, error and bug reports and other technical files. The data need to be analyzed at the company to enhance its next product. Josh tossed the smartphone into Matt's lap and sat back on the table.

"So comrade, how's the runs?" with both hands grabbed Matt's shoulder, Jack imitated nazis flick this time.
