Unstable

Ezra's bouts with Theresa eventually made him realize that if he did not see Daphne for long periods of time, he would suffer. By the 9th week of not seeing her, he would have trouble sleeping, and by the 12th he would daydream, almost hallucinate, about her. All of his indiscretions with Theresa were in a state where he was not mentally stable, and he was tired out of his mind.

For the past two years, he had adapted to always making sure he could see Daphne at least three to four times a month. The fact that he no longer had the same issues proved to him that he could not stay sane while away from her. Roughly two years ago was also the last time him and Theresa had done anything outside of him getting ambushed with a peck on his ear seven months ago. He had not fired her mostly on account of him also being guilty for being swayed by her.

Ezra had acted as if sex was important for him in front of Daphne because, in front of her, it is. He was wary about saying anything that sounded too much like an excuse, he thought that it would make him look bad. This view made him chose to speak in a way in which he accepted his fault, but also blamed her for ignoring him.

These fears Ezra had were flashing through his brain at the speed of light though, most of his sensations and thoughts being focused on Daphne entirely. Due to this, although he felt uncomfortable because he was still excited, he was not able to lose himself in the moment completely due to his previous experiences with Theresa. A small part of him was scared that what was happening was not real, and that he had finally lost his marbles.

He was also too lost in his focus of paying attention to her every action to truly lose himself to pleasure. Plus, he had tried his best not to climax since he did not want her to think he could not last.

Ezra was overthinking Daphne's every action, how he should react to it and what it really meant. As such, as soon as it seemed that she was calming down, he stopped grinding her hips onto him and started waiting with bated breath for her next course of action.

While Daphne composed herself, she asked Ezra,

"So, what other type of enthusiasm do you wish from me?"

Ezra was confused, initially not sure what she was talking about. As he pondered, he remembered having told her he would try to be the best husband she could ever want, but expected the same from her.

"Baby steps are fine… Let's get to know each other better, we can speak about that when we do." he said, thinking more along the lines of how nice it would be to learn things about her from the horse's mouth, not from third parties.

"Did you enjoy that, or was it just me?" Daphne asked while paying close attention to his every reaction.

"I enjoyed it very much, but you took me by surprise and I thought my heart was going to stop for a second there." Ezra chuckled, mostly in ridicule of himself. With his hands wrapped around Daphne, he leaned back slightly so he could see her face and upper body better.

Daphne's face did not have the emotions he was expecting her face to have. She looked guarded.

He expected her to look excited or content. At least that would probably be how he would imagine it. At the sight of her expression, the happiness in his eyes visibly dimmed and Daphne noticed the change.

Not wanting the atmosphere to sour, and since Daphne was no longer saying anything, just staying silent, visibly starting to regret her previous actions, Ezra was desperate to reassure her, realizing for the first time in his life how sensitive his wife was to people's behaviors, their actions and reactions.
