As they looked up, they saw a ghost-like shadow sitting on a balcony railing, its bright blue eyes staring right at them. The sight terrified them.
"W-who are you?" the fat guy stammered.
"Are you sure you want to know?" the figure replied. Then, he jumped from the balcony and landed smoothly.
Now they could see clearly. Before them stood a guy wearing a dark blue hoodie and pants, black and white sneakers, and a mask covering his face. When Max had gone shopping for clothes, he liked this style and didn't want to reveal his identity, so he bought a mask as well.
"Brat, be on your way or don't blame us," a guy with a knife threatened.
"Well... how about I give you an option? You go to the police station and confess to all the crimes you've committed," Max said.
"It seems he's asking for it. Let's show him how the world works around here," the fat guy said, and both rushed to beat him.
Max moved slightly, evading the knife, and caught the second guy's fist effortlessly. Both attackers were shocked. The guy with the knife tried to attack again. Max punched the fat guy in the gut, dodged the knife, and kicked the knife-wielder in the face. The guy flew back, smashed into the wall, and lost consciousness. The fat guy, writhing in pain, also collapsed, unconscious.
Max walked over to the school kid. "Hey, are you alright?" he asked.
Seeing all of this, the kid didn't know whether to believe it or not. "Hello?" Max said, seeing no reaction.
"Uh, yes, thank you. I'm alright," the kid finally responded still in pain.
Seeing that the kid was okay, Max walked over to the unconscious attackers. He lifted them one by one, taking their money, chains, and a pocket knife. He tied them to a pole and took some pictures. Then he turned to the school kid and said, "Go to the hospital and get yourself treated." He handed the kid some money and walked away.

At the police station:
"Hello, this is 911. How can I help you?" a lady officer said.
"Um... there are two guys who tried to extort some money, and I beat them up and tied them to a pole. They're in West Street. You can take them; they have committed many bad deeds. The proof is on their mobile phones. You can find them at your police station entrance. See ya," the caller said, then hung up.
"Hey, wait..." the lady officer said.
Max put that phone in a brown bag and put it in front of the police station entrance before leaving.
Max slipped into an empty alley and quickly changed out of his disguise, stashing the dark clothes and mask into his storage. He donned his regular attire—jeans and a t-shirt—blending back into the crowd as he made his way home.
