Did I Let You Go?

"It seems the last lesson wasn't severe enough, was it, son of the prime minister?" The silver-haired girl walked over gracefully, a faint smile on her lips, while a cold glimmer flickered in her clear eyes.

"Don't think that just because you're strong, you can do whatever you want! This is the Imperial Capital, and yet you dare walk into a trap!" Syura shouted, trying to sound fierce despite his cowardice. "The city's guards have already surrounded this place."

"Oh, really?" Kaguya smiled nonchalantly, gently caressing the shimmering blade of her Kusanagi sword. "If you mean those enhanced soldiers, I'm sorry to inform you, they've been wiped out."

"What?" Syura involuntarily took a step back, his face turning pale. "How is that possible?"

"What's impossible?" Kaguya sneered. "They were nothing but a bunch of recycled trash, dressed up in metal shells. Do you really think such creatures could pose a threat to me?"

The soldiers Kaguya had encountered earlier were enhanced beings created by Syura, using the dead Dr. Stylish's technology. They had once been highly skilled soldiers or officers in the Imperial Army, possessing considerable combat power. But due to the urgency of the war, and in order to boost the army's strength against both the Revolutionary Army and the Guard, the madman Syura resorted to Dr. Stylish's technology to turn them into enhanced beings.

However, the technology was still incomplete, and the enhanced beings had lost their sanity. While their strength had greatly increased, they were no longer human. It would be more accurate to call them danger beasts. The goal of Dr. Stylish's research was to transform humans into powerful danger beasts, but for various reasons, the technology remained a half-finished product.

Even so, the fact that the silver-haired girl had eliminated them all was simply unbelievable.

"Oh, look who it is!" Kaguya suddenly pretended to be surprised, as if she had only just noticed. "I didn't expect to see you here, flat-chested shorty. What a coincidence."

"You're the flat-chested one!" Mine, who had felt a slight warmth toward Kaguya for saving her earlier, instantly cooled down.

"Oh, really?" Kaguya reached out with her fair hand and poked Mine's chest, grinning as she narrowed her eyes. "Doesn't look very big to me. How about taking off your clothes and letting me check for you, little girl?"

"Get lost, you pervert!" Mine quickly stepped back, crossing her arms over her chest, glaring at Kaguya as if she were a lecher, her face puffing up in anger.

"What's the big deal? It's not like I haven't touched one before." Kaguya shrugged casually.

Mine's face flushed red in an instant, and she furiously shouted, "You pervert!"

"Don't be so stingy," Kaguya laughed slyly. "A few touches won't hurt. Besides, I know a special method for breast enhancement. Are you sure you don't want to try it?"

"No way!" Mine turned her head with a huff.

"Well, if you change your mind, feel free to come find me anytime," Kaguya said with a playful wink.

"Sister."

At that moment, Kaguya felt a small tug on her skirt. She looked down to see a cute little girl gazing up at her curiously. "Are you the princess?" the girl asked.

"Yes," Kaguya nodded gently, crouching down and patting the little girl's head. "What's wrong? Do you need something from me?"

"Are you really the princess?" The little girl's eyes suddenly brightened. "Then you must be able to bring my daddy back."

"Why do you say that?" Kaguya asked curiously. "Where did your father go?"

"My daddy," the little girl's expression turned sad, "my daddy is already dead."

"Dead?" Kaguya was momentarily stunned. "Bols is dead?"

She hadn't expected that Bols had died. Though he wasn't particularly powerful, he wasn't weak either, and he was always kind-hearted, with no known enemies.

Could he have died in the war?

"Don't be foolish!" A beautiful woman hurried over at that moment, apologizing, "I'm sorry, the child doesn't know better. Please don't take it to heart."

"What happened?" Kaguya asked. "How did Bols die?"

Kaguya had always held some regard for Bols, though not in a romantic sense. She admired him as a person. Even though he had been part of the Empire's army and had done some questionable things, he wasn't inherently evil. At the very least, he had a conscience, which was rare in the Empire's ruthless military. Kaguya had even considered recruiting him once the Revolution succeeded, but now he was gone.

"Well..." The beautiful woman hesitated, looking like she wanted to speak but didn't dare to.

"Tell me everything," Kaguya said firmly.

"This all started about a month ago..." the woman began, her expression darkening as she recounted the events.

It turned out that a few months earlier, Kaguya had spared Bols's life, letting him go. At the time, it seemed like no big deal, but later, someone found out and reported it to the minister. They falsely accused Bols of colluding with the Guard and blamed him for the Empire's defeat in that battle, claiming that he had leaked information, leading to the near annihilation of the Imperial forces.

The minister, enraged by the Empire's recent defeats, immediately ordered Bols's arrest. He was thrown into a torture chamber and subjected to brutal interrogation. Despite the extreme torture, Bols never confessed to any crime, for the sake of his wife and daughter. In the end, he was tortured to death.

"So, it was my fault after all," Kaguya sighed.

"Please don't blame yourself, Your Highness," the beautiful woman quickly reassured her. "It wasn't your fault."

"Regardless, I played a part in it," Kaguya said, her brows furrowing slightly. With a swift wave of her snow-white arm, a flash of light shot from her hand, like a bolt of lightning.

Blood splattered.

"Ahhh!" A piercing scream echoed.

"Did I say you could leave?" Kaguya turned around, her eyes emanating a chilling coldness. "Son of the prime minister."

It turned out that while Kaguya and the others had been talking, Syura had tried to seize the opportunity to escape. However, Kaguya had caught him before he could get away.
