The night was long

The night was long.

Grandpa Ling found me in the morning sitting on a bouder next to a dusty path. " Boy! Did you even sleep last night!"

With my dark eyes, I gave him a strained smile " Are you going to sell the Chives?"

Grandpa Ling raised an eyebrow and nodded "It's always a good to get an early start, you should join me kid" He fished out a rice ball from his pockets, extending his arms towards me.

I looked at the rice ball with conflicted feelings, only to stab the thing into my stomach ' was I even in the game? This wasn't like we created but at the same time it is! The mountains! The flowers! The food.. Nothing is right! But is right!'

As we made it to the market, Grandpa Ling set up a small table with the chives and other items made by Grandma Ling. I stood beside Grandpa Ling, staring at the people walking around the market ' robes, hole toilets, no internet, disease and famine …. I think I'm in shock'

A firm slap from Grandpa Ling on my back brought me out of my thoughts

" She'd like a bundle...find your head boy!"

With a stiff laugh, I prepared and handed the lady a bundle, only to receive a copper piece in return ' what the' I looked at it before turning to Grandpa Ling.

"You've never seen money before?" Grandpa Ling took the copper piece out of my hands with a slight frown.

"That is money!" I pointed to the piece he had stored away.

"Boy! I don't know what happened to you but you better wise up fast, the faster, the better. Pretty boy's like you don't last long in this world" He shook his head, returning back to the customers.

I let out a groan to the sky ' Am I stuck here?' I sighed and continued to help the old man while the sun rose up, avoiding thinking about the future for now.

"Well, well… Look who it is"

"Fuck off!" I looked up to find the man who was standing next to the woman yesterday, cheekily smiling at me.

The man's face turned scrunched after hearing my words " You really are courting death"

" Please leave, can't you see your scaring away the customers with your ugly mug, it's too early for us to deal with, come back when it's dark ...shoo,shoo "

My eyes grew like saucers as I saw who was standing next to him, the big bug from yesterday.

Silence ensued as we looked at each other.

I let out a dry cough, readjusted my hoodie, shaking my legs in the process " Dear customer, if you are not going to buy anything, please move aside for the others" I waved my hand to the back of the queue.

I heard a low deep chuckle coming from her, that made my hairs stand straighter than a ruler. ' Can you at least smile!' .. "Well look at that, it's time for my lunch break!"

She arched her eyebrow and smirked at me "You're leaving so soon, I wanted to buy something"

"You lose your head again boy?" Grandpa Ling came towards us but he immediately halted in place, when he saw the woman standing in front of me.

He quickly bowed like an allen key, which made me frown.

"Is this your grandson?" the big bug asked

"No my lord, he was kind enough to help me gather chives, we met yesterday, that is all, my lord"

I eyed the dangerous look the woman was giving to Grandpa Ling

"Hey!, I acknowledge that what happened between us yesterday was a mistake okay but it was just between you and me, no need to bring the old man into this" I said with an irritated voice. 'Wait? Does that sound wrong?'

Ren nearly collapsed onto the floor and had to use the table for support to hold himself up ' who does this brat keep thinking he's talking too!'

Yue Lei took a step forward, "So, now I exist?"

"Huh" I stepped back, but my back met a tree and they got along fairly well.

Yue Lei shifted her gaze over me " The way you're dressed is odd… the way you speak is odd...where are you from?"

I coughed out the air that was lodge in my throat and deepened my voice "Far..a far away place"

She stepped closer. "And where is this far away place?"

"Over there" I pointed behind them and everyone turned around.

I bolted to my left, just missing the hand of the bug's friend reaching for my shoulder.

Brushing past the people in the marketplace, I turned into an alleyway, jumping into the first window I saw and quickly ran into another room.

I opened the door.

There was an old man standing in the middle of the room flossing his raisined family jewels.

I closed the door.

The bug's friend was too large to fit into the window I had used and had become stuck. I threw my finger at him, as I ran past the room.

Wasting no time, I found the front door and began running for the woods at breakneck speed.

I looked back to see the bug's friend covered in dust still chasing after me, causing a tear to streak down my eye ' What have I done to deserve this! I don't know if I can die but I don't want to find out! Run Nova!Run!'

I ran till I found myself nearly falling off a cliff with a river running underneath it. I barely stopped in time and had to pull myself back up to safety.

As I laid on my back trying to find my lungs, Her voice flowed in my ears.

"Are you done?"

I lifted myself up, dusting off my knees to see big bug and bug, standing side by side.

I was panting while they looked like they had taken a stroll in the park. The wind blew causing a dust wave to pass in between us

" You're pretty tenacious for such a weak guy.. If you knew who I am, you'd know there was where you could run from me, this land, belongs to me, everything built on this land belongs to me, everyone on this land, belongs to me, "

"Tch" I finally caught my breath and frowned at the big bug, whilst looking down the cliff and around the cliff edge.

"How dare you show such disrespect to the Lord, Yue Lei!" The big bug's friend said with steam billowing from his nose.

I looked at both of them, clicking my fingers " You guys are an S&M thing, she's the dom, you're the sub… it all makes sense now, she's been taiming you with butt plugs"

Yue Lei nearly choked out a laugh but covered it upon seeing Ren turning red "Wha..Bu...You!"

The bug threw a finger towards me and unsheathed the sword by his side and started walking towards me.

I raised my hands up in front of me and waltz away from the edge with the bugs friend in tow "Woah..Woah….we can settle this with some civilised talking over a cup of coffee"

The bug did not stop and his sword caught a blaze before my very eyes
