She is hiding something from them.

"Oh, you are asking about Mr. Fletcher?" Ria asked, interrupting both Anna and Kyle's thoughts.

"I guess so," Anna muttered. Her tone is indifferent and languid as if she doesn't care much about him.

It is not like she doesn't know him…

She knows him too well but that was years ago. But people change in just a year's time, so he is like a new person now.

"He is the eldest son of the Fletcher family, Aiden Fletcher. As you don't bother about your family much, you might not know but, Mr. Fletcher is pretty close to your grandparents" Ria said.

Her tone is sarcastic and at the same time, a little serious.

"Is he loyal to grandparents?" Anna questioned.

"More than you. That I am sure of" Ria gave a lopsided smile.

Anna chuckled.

"That goes without saying, I guess," she answered, not at all affected by Ria's mockery.

What she said is true anyways. Why to refute?

She really doesn't care about the affairs related to the Danvers family.

"Well, your grandparents trust him," Ria answered, a little disappointed that Anna isn't affected by her words.

Only she knows how much grandfather Danvers and grandmother Danvers missed their biological granddaughter.

She has seen their longing for Anna. There was not a single day that passed by without them remembering their granddaughter. They used to long for her return however, Anna just returned after their death and she seemed not at all sad.

Meanwhile, Kyle stayed quiet, having the same thoughts as Ria.

He understood why Ria is not that affected by the sudden demise of their grandparents.

She has only known them for five years and, moreover, they aren't her own grandparents. So, it's natural for her to not react much.

But, what made him uncomfortable is, why is his sister, Anna, not sad? Does she hate their grandparents to the extent where she is not at all affected by their death?

Or, is it because she has been through a lot more that these types of things don't move her heart anymore?

"So, Ria, do you think my grandparents are close enough to share secrets with him?" Anna asked, bringing Kyle back from his reverie.

"Sis, why are you asking?" he abruptly asked.

His sister is not someone who cares about Danvers family let alone probe like this So, he could only presume that she is actually bothered by their grandparents death.

"Just asking," Anna answered languidly.

Looking at his sister's passive response, Kyle could only sigh and look at Ria.

"I am not sure. If you want to talk with him, you can. After all, you are the real heiress" Ria answered Anna.

"All you have to do is, tell him that you are Adri-"

"Ria, stop it!" Anna hissed.

"Didn't I make it clear that I don't want to reveal our little secret, Ria? So, don't pressurize me to do it, okay?" Anna warned, her tone scary and bone chilling.

Slightly leaning forward to front, "You know what will happen if you cross this line, don't you?" Anna whispered.

Ria gulpedin fear after hearing the warning and silently nodded her head.

"Good" Anna smiled, making Ria gulp again.

Ahh… her smile is so scary!!

"You both head back to the mansion. I will join you later" Anna said, and looked at Ria again signaling her to stop the car.

Ria hesitated as they are still in the outskirts of the city but looking at Anna's cold expression, she didn't dare to retaliate and obediently brought the car to halt.

And, as soon as the car stopped, Anna got down without any delay.

Inside the car…

"She is not at all sad," Kyle said, pursing his lips.

"I know that she hates them for what they did to her… but, at the end of the day, they were the only living family we were left with" he added, his eyes moist.

"Why did she become like this? She used to be so sweet, caring and compassionate. But now, she is contrary to her previous self" Kyle asked, his voice shaky.

Ria pursed her lips and looked down at her interlocked hands.

"I think she is hiding something from us," she said all of a sudden.

"You think so?" Kyle asked.

"Actually, I am certain, Kyle. Anna is someone who stays cool and collected even at the most stressful situations. But for the first time, I have seen her being restless, '' Ria told him. Though Anna is good at hiding her emotions, today was the exceptin.

"So, you think, it has something to do with my grandparents death, sister Ria" he asked.

"I am not sure, Kyle. It could be Mr. Fletcher too…" Ria spoke her thoughts. She noticed how Anna spaced out when she saw Aiden for the first time.

She was disturbed and was in a daze for a while after her encounter with him. She was seeing in his direction with complex feelings etched in her cold yet beautiful bluish gray eyes.

"Sis, even you are capable enough to run a company. If Sis Anna disagrees to take over, I think.." Kyle was about to say something but Ria interrupted.

"Kyle, I can't. I am just an imposter of your sister. Although I am close to your grandparents, I am still an outsider. Moreover, my responsibilities don't allow me to...so, If Anna disagrees, you are the only eligible person" She firmly said.

Although Ria acts like a good for nothing, arrogant brat, she is not someone who could be underestimated.

She is quick witted and intelligent. She looks like she doesn't care about anything but in reality, she is a sagacious person. Anna wouldn't have put Ria in this position if she is really an ordinary person.

However, an imposter is still an imposter. She could only do what Anna and 'HOPE' asked her to do. To act as a dim witted, spoiled granddaughter.

It is not that she is complaining anyway. Living a life of jobless yet rich heiress is very relaxing and luxurious.

Besides this, she gets paid a hefty amount for acting as an imposter. That money would be more than enough to live a lavish life if she had to leave this job as an imposter.

That is the reason she is not greedy to acquire Danvers business. All she has to do is obey Anna's commands and her life will be smooth as butter.
