Devil's Luck[Arc 5: Worlds Apart]

Zenkichi Hitoyoshi is a young man, destined to be chained by fate in the early story of canon. He was a man without ambition, drive, will and talent to become something great. Well, that'll soon change. For better, or for worse. .... AN: Alright, let's do this one last time, probably. Here's another Medaka Box fanfic that I hope it'll get to a hundred chapters before I drop it, or not? It depends on life really. And positive comments and reviews, I don't really care much of power stones(tho, that doesn't mean you can't...) but positive feedback on my work really inspires me more to write. Want to check out my pa-treon and be ahead of your fellow WN kin? Well here's the link: pa–treon.com/FroztDouluo *Just get rid of the dash. Edit: I just changed it to Gilgamesh because... Zenkichi basically almost resembles him at this point(I didn't planned for this happen) Schedule and the amount of chapters I'd be popping out? Tuesday and Thursday(UTC +8), 2–3 chapters a week(it's usually just 2 chapters because I'm slow at making anime related stories).

Chapter 109

"Welcoming his divine presence and great consort, the Sun God Zen and the Norse Valkyrie Brunhilde, into his majesty Ozymandias' royal throne room!"

Standing before such a... grandeur welcoming of him and Brunhilde just to meet with Ozymandias, honestly, it was a bit uncomfortable. Have him fight against a God? He'll smile and ready his fists. Have him lead a group of problem children? Difficult, but doable.

But have him attend events and or meet with some important people? Yeah, count him out. He went through a lot of that crap whenever he joined Medaka's birthday parties.

'Alright, show time! Back straight, shoulders relax, chin high and a cold arrogant expression on my face.' Zenkichi stepped forward into the large throne room with Brunhilde trailing behind him, eyes forward and they looked upon the man sitting upon the tall throne in the middle of the room with a neutral expression.

Ozymandias himself had a look of indifference as he observed Zenkichi's entrance, his posture regal and his gaze piercing. "Ah, the esteemed guests have arrived," he remarked, his voice carrying a commanding tone that matched his imposing presence. "Welcome, Sun God Zen and Valkyrie Brunhilde. Your presence graces my court."

Zenkichi casually nodded in response, his expression remaining cool and collected. "Thank you for welcoming us in your domain. The accommodations that your home provided are truly impressive," Zenkichi said, his tone respectful yet tinged with a hint of detachment. He glanced around the opulent throne room, though mostly empty, there was no denying the intricate decorations, lavish furnishings and the ancient hieroglyphs with a subtle nod of appreciation.

Brunhilde also nodded at the room around them. "It has been a while, but seeing an ancient Pharaoh's throne room is as... extravagant as I remember."

Ozymandias acknowledged their words with a nod of his own, his demeanor maintaining its regal composure; sitting in a relax manner with his chin on his fist. "Of course, such accommodations are to be given to a God! Anything else would be an insult in not only to the God, but also to the host. As I am Ozymandias, my accommodations and hospitality must reflect my stature," Ozymandias declared, his voice carrying an air of pride and authority. "But let us not dwell on formalities alone. I have something important to ask a... God of the Sun such as yourself, a question."

Zenkichi slightly narrowed his eyes at the slight pause. "As you have been a good host to me and my partner, I am willing to hear your question, Ozymandias," he replied, his tone composed and confident. A god does not show weakness. "Ask away."

Brunhilde remained silent but alert, her gaze fixed on Ozymandias with a steely determination, ready to intervene if necessary.

Ozymandias straighten his posture, his golden eyes glowed and he leaned forward to ask,

"Who. Are. You?"

There was a beat of silence.

Nitocris widened her eyes and turned towards Ozymandias in shock. "Ozymandias, that-!"

No matter how powerful his Noble Phantasm, Ramesseum Tentyris, most of its powers only works on mortals(human and/or servants); curses and sealing of noble phantasm. Both Zenkichi and Brunhilde are Divine Spirits however, such restrictions are irrelevant to them. Although she doesn't have much close knowledge about Gods, except for Anubis, but she knew that they were prideful.

If Ozymandias were to displease them and result in a battle to occur, Nitocris wasn't confident they could win.

But to her surprise, Zenkichi remained unfazed by the question, his demeanor unwavering. With a calm yet confident tone, he replied, "I am Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, a God from another world."

"And I'm Brunhilde, a Valkyrie from another world." Brunhilde casually added.

"Eh?" Nitocris stammered in surprise, taken aback by the revelation. She hadn't anticipated such an answer from Zenkichi and Brunhilde.

Zenkichi's gaze remained steady, looking directly at Ozymandias' expressionless face.

There was only one reason why he revealed the truth to Ozymandias and Nitocris, it was that he didn't care if they knew. What are they supposed to do with that sort of knowledge? They're already dead and are just copies of their original stuck in the Throne of Heroes, and the knowledge of alternate worlds isn't that surprising considering one of the True Magic allows the spellcaster access of parallel worlds. Plus, Ozymandias has the Holy Grail.

Hiding some of the truth to potential allies seemed foolhardy to Zenkichi, hypocritical of him, yes, but that just means he understands when it was the time to deceive someone or not. Right now, he didn't feel the urge to do it.

"Hmph. I figure." Ozymandias responded with a hint of intrigue in his tone, his eyes flickering with a newfound interest.

That response surprised everyone present.

"You're not surprised?" Zenkichi asked.

"God from another world, do you not know who I am?" Ozymandias huffed and let out a small laugh, standing up from his throne with a smirk. "I am Ozymandias! King of Kings, Ramesses the Great and a God King; the incarnation of Ra! Seeing through your true natures does not require surprise. As a ruler, it is my duty to discern the nature of those who enter my domain," Ozymandias declared, his voice carrying an air of self-assurance. "I have to say. Now then, shall we have a chat?"

Zenkichi blinked and slightly chuckled, taken aback from his astuteness. "Not gonna lie, I kinda expected you to act this way but it's still impressive nonetheless," Zenkichi admitted, a wry smile crossing his lips. "Very well, Ozymandias. Let us converse."

Brunhilde, ever watchful, remained silent but attentive, ready to interject if necessary. Nitocris, still processing the unfolding events, could only observe with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.

"God from another world, tell me, where do you stand in this situation?" Ozymandias asked, waving his hand and a mini Sphinx appeared behind Zenkichi and lowered itself.

Zenkichi sat on the Sphinx and replied, "I and my partner here are called upon this world, I believe you understand what that means. And, please, call me Zenkichi."

"The last master of the world to fix it, huh. Does that mean you stand by their side?"

"Yes, and I will stand by their side as per the contract that is called command seals. And no, you or anyone else cannot sway me. I abide by the contracts I make," Zenkichi responded firmly, his gaze unwavering as he met Ozymandias' eyes.

Ozymandias nodded thoughtfully, acknowledging Zenkichi's resolve. "Very well, a stance befitting a god," he remarked, his tone carrying a note of respect. "I shall not press further on this matter. However, if they were to attack me, know that I will counterattack."

Zenkichi nodded. "That's understandable. But if they come here for aid...?"

Ozymandias waved him off. "If they prove themselves, without your help, then I will help them in their endeavor."

"I appreciate it."

Ozymandias loudly hummed in response. "Your name, Japanese correct? I have never heard of a God with that name in the east. Although I do not have an extensive knowledge of other mythologies, but I know that there could only be one God of the Sun in a pantheon."

Zenkichi shrugged. "Different worlds, history and the divine system operates differently than yours. Heck, history itself is vasty different."

"Oh? How so?"

"The Age of the Gods haven't ended yet," He lightly smiled at his shocked look.

It was to be expected, the end of the Gods' Era meant the birth of man's. It was the natural order of things. In Ozymandias' mind or anyone else, this concept might seem utterly foreign, even impossible. But for Zenkichi, it was a fundamental truth of his world, a reality he was forced to accept. After all, he is the devil's son.

Ozymandias, though visibly surprised, maintained his regal demeanor. "Fascinating," he remarked, his tone laced with intrigue. "To live in a world where the divine still holds sway... It must be quite the experience."

"Eh, you're not missing much. It's basically like how the modern time in your world is like; the moonlit world hiding it's existence from normal people. But my world's... moonlit world doesn't hide its existence to preserve the remaining mysteries in the world, they hide themselves from the ordinary man and woman for their protection." At least, that's what Lilith explained to him about the supernatural part of the world.

Ozymandias let out a laugh, a hearty sound that echoed through the grand hall. "Ah, truly. So different yet so alike in some aspects. I do wish to see that kind of world." a thoughtful expression crossed his face. "Zenkichi, what has Egypt of your world have become?"

Zenkichi scratched the back of his head and replied. "Honestly, I have no idea. I haven't been there nor was I curious enough to ask for its situation."

"I see..."

"But I wouldn't worry too much if your Gods are still running around in my world." Zenkichi said.

Ozymandias chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Indeed, I have no doubt that the gods of Egypt would find a way to thrive in any world they inhabit. They are resilient beings, much like the sands of the desert."

Brunhilde clicked her tongue, crossing her arms, she reluctantly nodded in agreement. "...It's true. Gods have a way of enduring through the ages, adapting to new environments and challenges."

"Uhm, what about Asgard? In our world, there's a prophecy about Ragnarok that would end your world..." Nitocris said to her.

Contrary to her expectations, Brunhilde casually waved her hand. "Ah, Raganarok is still ongoing back home."

"...What?!"

"Ozymandias." Zenkichi addressed the king. "Can you do me a favor?"

Ozymandias blinked, intrigued by the request. "Certainly, Zenkichi. What is it that you ask of me?"

Zenkichi leaned forward slightly, his expression earnest. "I would like to borrow the Holy Grail."

...

The sound of bells chiming was heard in the scorching hot wasteland. Two figures trekked through the desert, their shoulders slouched and exhaustion was clear on their faces.

"D-Disciple, can you use your Noble Phantasm once more? Please?" Spoke the woman wearing a vibrant golden robe with a white dress that had the chest area opened to reveal her ample breasts covered by a pair of white bikini top, a round hat adorned her long black hair, and a khakkhara in her hand. She was an incredibly beautiful lady, who is unfortunately suffering from the extreme heat.

"F-For the last time, I'm not your disciple! Also, I'm almost running out of magical energy... If I use it again, I'm afraid I'll disappear." Replied the the man walking besides her. He was quite masculine and handsome, though the left end of his jaw was slightly scarred, with long green hair tied into a ponytail, a bandana around his head, and wearing an orange kimono with intricate designs. He also had a long red bow on his back.

The girl whimpered.

"Amitabha..." The girl quietly muttered, her voice barely audible over the howling wind.

Just as they were losing hope, they heard something coming near them.

They looked up and saw a cloud of dust and with the man's excellent eyesight, he gasped in excitement.

"It's people!" They both exchanged a look, then hugged each other in relief and tears of joy spilled out of their eyes.

"What the..."

Gudako blinked her eyes as she lowered her binoculars in confusion.

"Senpai? Is something the matter?" Mash asked, tilting her head at her senpai's expression.

"Uh, I might be seeing things but... I think I just saw Zoro."

"...Who?"
