"Mom, please let me go."
Elise begged, staring in Niena's stone cold eyes. She never knew her mother could hold such good eyes… For some reason, they reminded her of Dietrich.
"I said no, Elise. You are not leaving this room!"
Elise's heart pounded in her chest, frustration building up within her soul every passing second. She couldn't believe her mother was doing this... keeping her locked in this room while Dietrich was fighting alone outside.
I want to help him. I need to help him.
"Mom, please! I need to help. You can't just lock me in here!" Elise's voice pleaded but Niena wouldn't soften for some reason. She pressed her hands against the wall supporting her weak frame, her fingers curling into tight fists.
Niena stood by the oak door, her arms crossed, her gaze cold and unyielding. "This is for your own safety, Elise. You don't understand the danger out there. I forbid you to step out of here."
