CHAPTER TEN: A confused decision

"Ok, it's the Rodriguez Empire," Aiden said with a smile.

"what!"

"yeah it's shocking right? That I am going to be working in a huge company, but it's the truth and reality

"no Aiden I don't want you to work in that company"

"what!" aidan along with the neighbours exclaimed in a puzzled manner.

"Why aunt?...tell me you're joking right?.... I don't understand" Aiden asked in confusion

"I have my reasons. I don't want you working in the R empire and that's final. Find another company apart from that" She instructed.

"well it's not so easy as you say it out here in Manila It's very hard to find a job, there are hundreds of graduates from rich and standard schools out there with no work, and I'm lucky to work in one of the biggest company in the Philippines and you're telling me to quit the job? What are you saying aunt?"

"Look Aiden....

"no aunt I don't care what your reasons are but this is an impossible task you're asking me to do I can't quit the job"

"Aiden, it's very important for your own safety. Did they ask you anything about your family, especially your dad?" she asked worldly.

"not really, he only said that name looks familiar to him, that's all he didn't ask further, what's with that?"

"oh no! Whatever the case maybe Aiden don't work in that company and that's my decision, and don't ever mention your family's to anyone especially not about your dad, if anyone asks tell them your family are still alive, and they live here in Eastern samar don't ever tell them about your dad's death in Manila and whatever you do stay away from Rodriguez"

Aiden was really confused; he couldn't think of his aunt's sudden reaction. He knew her as a smart woman who only says the truth and what's best but right now he is in a pool of confusion.

"But aunt, what is the matter? Why are you acting worried all of a sudden? Your freaking me out"

"It's not time, Aiden I promise to tell you everything when the time is right but for now you need to do as I say please promise me you will obey me?"

"Aunt I can....

"promise me Aiden please for my sake"

Aidan really wanted to disagree with her decision but he couldn't set himself to do so, she's all that he had.

"ok and I'll try" he said with a low and sad tune.

"thank you Aiden I know you are sad at the moment but later you will understand that I was only trying to protect you"

"Alright aunt, I'll hang up now," Aiden said before he turned off the computer, and his aunt also turned off her cell phone. The neighbours went away murmuring over what she just asked her nephew to do. That's really strange. Who wouldn't be happy with their loved ones working in a big company? Only Susan remained; she was better known as the best friend of Dorisa and she knew all our secrets and shared her problems with her.

"Are you afraid of the possibilities? Are you scared of what might happen if the truth comes out?" Susan asked.

"Yes Susan, I can't let him suffer the same fate as his parents, I can't let that ever happen," Dorisa said, sounding like she was worried of something, something dangerous, sometimes dark and deadly.

" you don't have to worry Dorisa That's a very long time ago, I'm sure all that has been forgotten by now, i mean we haven't heard any sort of war among the supernaturals"

"we can't be so careless Susan no matter what no one should be able to know the truth about Aiden, especially that monster called Rodriguez"

Aiden was still on his bed. He was happy at first that this good news will bring a smile on his aunt's face but it was the other way around. What Could be the reason for his aunt wanting him to stay away from Mr Rodriguez? He was such a nice man.

Aiden's thought was deeply lost. abruptly the door was opened by Ben.

"Hey I've ordered some food and drinks for our celebration on your new job, your first job actually" Ben chuckled. But his face turned pale after seeing Aiden's sad expression and no response coming from him either.

"What's the matter man? This is supposed to be a happy moment" he said after which he sat next to him.

"It's about my aunt Dorisa," he replied in a sad tune.

"What happened to her? Oh no Is she sick or something….I can assist you man.....

"no not that she's perfectly fine she's not sick, she's healthy and strong"

"oh sorry then what is the matter with her?"

"She wants me to quit the job on the Rodriguez Empire"

"she what.... What?! But why?" Ben exclaimed.

"that's what I don't know man, but she seems to be so worried supposedly because of Mr Rodriguez"

"Mr Rodriguez? You mean the CEO of R Empire?"

"yes him"

"well what about him?"

"she didn't say anything she only said I should keep off from him and his organisation and I shouldn't make any mention of my family's identity to anyone, she said I should lie of my parents still being alive"

"That's a strange thing man. So now what's your plan? Are you truly going to quit the job? You know it's very hard to find another one"

"I don't know man I don't know I'm really really confused right now. I've already agreed to quit the job just to make her not worry but even i know that isn't a nice idea,I can't quit the job and at the same time I can't disobey my aunt. Oh Jeez I'm stuck in the middle of confusion"

"well whatever your decision is just know I'm right beside you I will always support you"

"thanks man"they both shook each other's hand.

"I'll be on the dining waiting for you"

"I'll be coming right away"

"you better be fast it won't taste better if it's cold"

"sure man"
