The magician's resistance was stronger than expected, but Duwei had ways to deal with him.
"Keep an eye on him, don't let him escape. Remember, he's a magician, all you need to do is prevent his magic from recovering. A magician without magic is no more powerful than an ordinary person." Duwei instructed the two knights responsible for guarding the prisoner. "Remember, every now and then, give him a cold shower! Just make sure this magician doesn't have time to sleep or meditate, keep him constantly stimulated to maintain his alertness."
Magic was akin to mental strength. When humans depleted their mental energy, the most common way to recover was through sleep. Magicians could also recover through meditation. As long as they didn't have the chance to replenish their mental energy, a magician was nothing more than a weakened ordinary person.
Duwei then returned to his room, where he encountered his loyal servant, Mard, and two other guard knights.
"What's the matter?" Duwei asked with a gentle smile.
"Master, everything is ready. Are you going in now...?" one of the guard knights asked, wearing a pleasing expression.
Duwei shrugged, not quite understanding the implication, and simply waved his hand before entering his room, with his servant immediately closing the door behind him.
In this humble tavern, there were no luxurious suites, but the room had been tidied up and was relatively clean. To Duwei's slight surprise, he quickly understood the meaning behind the smiles of his subordinates from earlier.
In the room, a young woman with long legs sat on a chair, looking weary, her hands and feet bound. Careful attention had been paid to ensure that Duwei's mood wouldn't be disrupted; the ropes used to tie her were not ordinary ones, but sinews!
Seeing this little troublemaker step in, Arlene's heart truly started to panic!
This guy looked quite young... perhaps too young to do anything terrible to her, but Arlene understood well how she could provoke "temptation" in men.
Arlene's true concern wasn't that he would covet her hot appearance; instead, she worried that this young noble seemed too young, indicating he might not be the type who appreciates female charms, which left Arlene with no room to wield her greatest weapon!
In fact, she was well aware of the impact her appearance had on men. Her stunning looks had always been a weapon she adeptly utilized. With countless mercenary groups and adventurers in the empire, her small team was just one of the insignificant ones. Keeping this team afloat and maintaining her independence relied on Arlene's talent for using her feminine wiles.
When necessary, she didn't mind taking a small loss occasionally. But the prerequisite was that there must be enough conditions for exchange. For example, the curved sword the leader of a mercenary group gave her last time, or this time, the magician she had managed to recruit! These were undoubtedly the proudest achievements of Arlene's brief adventurous career! With the addition of a magician, her otherwise unremarkable team had just jumped up by two levels in strength!
Their journey to the southern province of Corte this time was merely a means of escape. Last time, in the territory of a certain noble in the north, she had seduced a passionate baron, who was so infatuated with her that he even gave her a family heirloom, a magically enhanced leather armor. But before she could truly take advantage of him, Arlene had vanished without a trace.
Unfortunately, the trip to the south turned out to be such a disaster! Who would have thought that in such a remote place, they would encounter a noble with such a large group of guards? Who would have thought that this noble would openly harass her regardless of his status, and worse, that her adventuring party with a magician would be so easily defeated by his men!
Damn it, didn't that magician boast about his abilities? Yet in the end, he was defeated by a mere child!
If only... sigh, if only she had restrained herself when that magician was drooling over her. Maybe she got too cocky after recruiting the magician.
As the half-grown noble approached her, Arlene sighed inwardly and resigned herself to some form of "sacrifice." She even started considering whether pleasing this little guy and satisfying him might lead to her release. Should she pretend to be frightened to satisfy his sense of conquest? Or should she play the innocent and pitiful card to evoke his sympathy? Or maybe... be as gentle and submissive as possible?
After some rapid internal deliberation, Arlene decided to go with the innocent act. Yes, that's it! A little shy expression, coupled with a hint of fear in her eyes, innocent and naive gaze... These were the most effective in attracting boys like this half-grown noble. Perhaps this way, not only could she deceive him into letting her go, but she might also gain some advantages.
Confident in her performance, Arlene closed her eyes, slightly parted her lips, and fluttered her long eyelashes, appearing timid and frightened, enhancing her pitiful appearance. Although she was twenty years old and acting like a little girl might seem inappropriate, Arlene believed that this half-grown noble, lacking much experience with women, would likely be drawn to her display.
Feeling the noble's hand moving down her shoulder from behind, Arlene immediately emitted a soft, pleading whimper. Simultaneously, she subtly twisted her body, a move she knew would evoke possessiveness in someone inexperienced like him.
The hand began to untie the ropes around Arlene's ribs, and she felt her body lighten as the tight-fitting leather armor was removed. Her shapely upper body curves were now fully exposed.
Arlene was well aware of her body's allure and adept at showcasing it. Beneath the armor, she wore only a thin bandeau, proudly displaying her ample bosom. She even subtly pushed out her chest and stole a glance at the noble through slightly opened eyes...
The noble's hands reached under Arlene's ribs, untying the ropes one by one. As the leather armor was completely removed, Arlene began to feel nervous. What was this little devil planning to do next? Would he suddenly pounce on her and hold her down? Or would his hands immediately climb up to her chest?
In her nervousness, Arlene even began to feel a hint of anticipation... Well, this guy might be a bit younger, but he wasn't bad-looking...
However, just as Arlene was lost in her thoughts, she suddenly felt a stirring in her heart...
It was too calm...
Yes, far too calm!
The noble's hands were extremely steady, his movements gentle and composed. And most importantly, while removing her armor, he showed no intention of taking advantage of the situation. Every movement of his fingers was clean, and even when they brushed against some sensitive areas on her body, his breathing remained steady and unchanged!
Unable to resist any longer, Arlene opened her eyes, only to find the noble standing in front of her. To her dismay, all her earlier performance seemed to have been in vain, because the noble was now admiring her armor with such concentration that he didn't spare even a glance for her!
Damn it! Didn't he see my current state? Arlene suddenly felt irritated!
She pushed out her chest, causing the thin bandeau covering her bosom to gently rise and fall. Under the excitement of the moment, a slight reaction caused two faint protrusions to be vaguely visible through the thin fabric...
With her snowy white chest muscles... Could this guy not be a man? Or maybe he's blind?!
Arlene couldn't help but cough lightly, trying to get his attention, but it seemed her anger was in vain. The young noble still didn't look at her, instead walking a few steps away with the armor and sitting down on a chair, quietly observing.
Arlene continued to cough... Her coughing grew louder and louder, until her throat began to ache. She began to feel absurd... Could this young noble be mentally unstable?
Although he seemed very young, he should have learned a thing or two by now, right?
Finally, just as Arlene was about to cough her throat raw...
"Is your throat sore?" Duwei asked casually.
Duwei finally looked up and cast his gaze towards her.
However, there was a hint of mockery in his eyes...
