Nicholas Cayden is considered as one of the three demigods permitted to live after the Righteous purge… and it was all thanks to his mother, the goddess of wisdom's mercy.

He was fourteen when the orphanage he had been staying at was devoured out of nowhere by a sink hole (that wasn’t even supposed exist) and would have been killed just as hundreds of demigods had been hunted down by the monsters brought forth from the Underworld—and all the other gods—if Athena hadn't personally intervened, hadn’t led her remaining demigod child to the newly turned goddess Proserpina and directed him to become a monster mercenary to have not only one but two goddesses on his side, for his own safety.
