Gaofeng continued incessantly striking with the Yin-Yang fist again and again, each time refining the ability to a greater degree. His ultimate goal was still to fuse Yin and Yang closer to its core, and after he had polished away a large amount of flaws he began considering how he could possibly do so through utilizing the Divine Myriad Changes Heart. A few options were pointed out to him, and without even needing to consider further he made a choice. This choice was actually the weakest one in the short-term, but it was also one which would greatly benefit him in the future. It consisted of beginning to merge Yin and Yang a tiny bit at a time to further his understanding of Yin and Yang's intricate heavenly laws. The merging process would be slow, but absolute and perfect. This was no shortcut.
When Gaofeng saw the path ahead, he began to divide his attention further between the desperate battle and his own comprehension. He didn't even care if he were thoroughly beaten, as long as he was alive he would be able to continue increasing his comprehension under this kind of immense pressure, and thus his future path would be smoother. Continuing to utilize the Yin-Yang Dragon Fist with greater and greater proficiency, it became almost like a second nature to instinctively use it, and he noticed that the time which he was required to spend to manifest each dragon continuously decreased. It felt like he simply had to strike with a normal fist, and that the dragon would nearly manifest on its own. With greater proficiency, he didn't have to consciously pay attention to the minor steps, and instead could put his full focus on the external condition of the battle, meaning that his strikes were more accurate, contained more power, and flowed in smoother succession.
In this kind of state, it could be said that he was experiencing continuous sudden enlightenment due to the Myriad Heart, and a minute in this state was equal to a year of regular comprehension, meaning that the longer the fight could continue, the greater Gaofeng's improvements would be. Normally, he would have exhausted all of his Yin and Yang qi at this point, but in this kind of illusory world there didn't seem to be any upper limit to the amount of qi he had available to him, meaning that he would never lose simply because he didn't have enough energy left.
As he continued understanding the process of merging Yin and Yang, in addition to not having to pay attention to the minor details of the manifestation of the Dragon itself, made it possible for Gaofeng to better control these usually volatile elements. He was able to merge them in a perfect balance, and for each new fist he attempted to merge two additional strands of Yin and Yang qi respectively, making the power of each fist slightly greater than the last. He had no clue about the amount of strands he would need to merge to completely merge the two elements, but after another two hours of continuously increasing the amount he was able to merge, he had finally reached 6% of the total amount. The rest of the Yin and Yang qi was still intermingled, but not fully merged, and thus it was lacking in quality compared to the part which was completely merged.
At the moment he had been able to merge 6% of the total amount, he felt that his strength had become completely equal to that of his illusion. Gaofeng naturally didn't want to end this fight quickly, so he never aimed for killing blows. Instead, he would rather endure the complete impact of the opponent's Heaven Destroying Staff. He decided to simply stand in place and meet every single strike from the opponent with his fist rather than utilizing momentum or tricky angles. Gaofeng continued merging strands of Yin and Yang, but now he was able to merge four strands at a time due to his increased proficiency. He was like a divine pillar which accepted each and every strike from the staff without so much as getting a single crack. His feet was still firmly planted on the ground in a casual manner as his power continued growing, now even faster than before. After another hour, he had been able to completely merge 7% of the Yin and Yang qi.
Unfortunately, this also ended his sudden enlightenment. His strength was simply too far above his opponent for him to feel any kind of pressure, and it was exactly this pressure which had instinctively activated his Myriad Heart. He would have to improve his cultivation greatly before he would be able to freely utilize this great ability, and until then he could only rely on external pressure to force the Myriad Heart to activate. Since he had gained immense power, and his opportunity for great improvement had been utilized to the greatest extent, naturally he wouldn't continue delaying for no reason. Thus, he simply utilized the Yin-Yang Dragon Fist's second move, "Destruction", with all of his power, combining it with the speed from Shimmer, as well as the scorching heat which surrounded his fist, and struck out directly at the illusion's face. Then, like a bubble, the illusion popped. It turned into a chain of golden light which was now broken into a cloud of golden dust. This dust then fused into where Gaofeng's dantian would come into being, as well as diffusing throughout his entire body and soul.
This dust could be said to be the foundation of the creation of a new dao, but the exact nature of this dao could only come into being through continuing breaking through the shackles on his potential, for then to use the previous shackles as nourishment for the creation of Gaofeng's unique dao. Even if anyone could cultivate to the 10th level of every cultivation realm, they would never be able to create their own Dao, and could instead only follow in the footsteps of daos which were either manifested naturally by the universe, or created by others. Anyone who followed the Dao of another person would never be completely integrated with that dao, as it wasn't a part of their being, so the power they would be able to display at a certain cultivation and comprehension level would never be able to match that of someone who was the master of a Grand Dao.
Gaofeng opened his eyes in the dark cultivation room, and noticed that the environmental qi surged towards his body like a flood. The pressure was so great that even his sturdy body was stifled. He was absorbing qi uncontrollably, and each and every strand of qi merged together with his body, strengthening it to a great degree. It was as if the surrounding qi would kill to be a part of the foundation of his unique Grand Dao. A curious sight could be seen, as the environmental qi which had been absorbed by his body had its essence extracted, and then this essence began flowing into his heart. Gaofeng felt the Myriad Heart stir once again, and his eyes lit up with excitement. However, the previous effect of the Myriad Heart didn't arrive. Instead, a smaller amount of liquid emerged from his heart and traveled through his meridians and to his dantian space, where it formed a sturdy and flawless platform; quite literally a foundation. This impeccable platform represented the potential of his own Grand Dao, as a foundation contains unlimited potential to what it can be used for. The foundation was located underneath where his true Dantian would form when he ascended to the qi-gathering realm.
