Chapter 5: A Demonic woman

Soon, Oswald zoomed in on the surface of the world, seeing the rough surface of the planet, where countless craters impacted and scattered across the ground.

But to Oswald's surprise, the zoom continued on until it had smashed straight into the floor, and after a brief period of time, the process repeated until he saw the image of a new world.

What he saw was a planet ravaged by raging flames, but the image didn't stop zooming and continued.

Planes of icy tundra, oceans of overwhelming flames and even horrific twisted jungles,

These were just some of the countless realms Oswald saw as the book zoomed through hundreds of such realms in mere seconds.

Eventually, the image displayed by the book came into another strange realm.

This realm was a battlefield.

Countless corpses and body parts could be seen strewn around with horrifically twisted expressions on their faces. The blood flowed around the battlefield like an endless river.

Oswald had never seen such a bloody, guttural scene in his life. He could feel his stomach twist and almost threw up what little contents he still had left inside.

But that stage of disgust didn't last long before his mind was overwhelmed with a feeling much more powerful than anything he could experience from this battlefield.

Awe!

On a giant throne, made of skulls and bones, sat a woman that made Oswald's legs buckle.

Her skin was a pale white and was so flawless, it practically glowed under the bloody fires of the battlefield.

Her face was so beautiful that even the best artist couldn't hope to recreate it. Her angelic features were coldly contrasted by the ink black demonic scales that covered her arms and legs and the lizard tail that curled around her throne.

Two humongous, curved horns protruded from her forehead and a set of mesmerising crimson eyes pierced through Oswald's mind.

As Oswald looked at this clearly demonic woman, he suddenly felt his breath shorten as his heartbeat sped up.

Oswald couldn't explain it.

Just looking at the woman placed him in this strange state of elation.

Suddenly the red lips of the woman in front of him, curved up into a smile as seductive yet commanding voice sounded out

"What an interesting little soul," said the woman as she licked her lips in delight.

"I want it."

In that instant, the woman's clawed hand shot out as the space around her cracked.

Oswald could only watch in horror as that same scaled hand, burst out of the book placed in front of him and reached for his throat.

In that instant, he burst out of his trance and desperately tried to shut the book.

The clawed hand tried to fight back against Oswald as the book started to shake violently, but the hand still couldn't be stopped. Just as he thought it was over, a glaring red glow emanated from the book before it slammed shut, forcing the hand back inside.

As the book closed, Oswald slumped to the ground.

His back was covered in a cold sweat!

'Fuck!' Thought Oswald

'What the hell just happened?!'

One second, he was watching the changing landscape and in the next second his soul was almost claimed by a strange beauty!

Oswald looked back at the book in both awe and horror.

After that recent scare, he decided it was best to put away the book, at least for now.

The instant that thought crossed Oswald's mind; the book instantly vanished.

For a second Oswald was left puzzled, but when he went to check his mindscape, he found a glowing red book hovering inside.

After all that happened tonight, he was mentally drained.

At this point he had no time for any troubling thoughts, he just wanted to rest.

As soon as Oswald touched the bed it didn't take long before Oswald was sent off into dreamland.

...

The next morning.

Oswald suddenly opened up his eyes.

Despite wanting to sleep for longer, his body's biological clock had woken him up.

Oswald could only curse the serious nature of the original owner of the body for his predicament.

Since there was no point in trying to get back to sleep, Oswald got up and prepared for the day.

A few minutes later, a fully dressed Oswald stood in front of the mirror and couldn't help but admire himself.

Currently Oswald was dressed in the uniform of his transcendent academy which was a gothic military style black jacket and pants.

But besides the rather stylish clothes Oswald had to admit that the body inhabited was quite the looker.

He had inherited the soft features and green eyes of his mother, whilst also taking the blonde hair and charismatic smile of his father.

To top it all off, His body wasn't necessarily well built, but it wasn't the stick-like physique you'd expect to find from many other mages either.

Satisfied with his new appearance, Oswald headed outside, but as he approached the door, he could hear some mutterings.

….

In the hallway outside, two maids, one young and one old, were doing their duties whilst discussing the matters of the current Blakewell household.

"Matilda, have you heard?" asked the younger maid.

"The young master has actually crippled his mental space!"

As Matilda heard this, she quickly turned around to scold her younger colleague.

"Lily! The matters of the Blakewell family are not yours to discuss. Be careful you don't anger someone you can't afford to."

"I know this, Matilda." Huffed Lily

"It's just that Master Oswald was so talented. He was supposed to elevate the Blakewell family to a whole new level, but now…" Lily couldn't help but stop speaking as she saw the horror on Matilda's face.

Slowly she turned around to see a blonde-haired man with a set of piercing green eyes staring back at her.

"Y-young master! I didn't mean to be disrespectful! I just-"

"It's okay," said Oswald with a slight nod.

"I understand that you weren't trying to be disrespectful, so it's okay."

As Oswald said this, he just gave them a soft smile, causing lily to blush red, before leaving.

As she watched Oswald leave, Lily couldn't help but sigh in dismay

"The young master really is too kind! I heard that even the factory workers say he helps them out all the time. I just can't understand how fate can't be so cruel to such a good person." said Lily.

"And I don't understand why I'm not married to a noble duke," sneered Matilda

"It's not your job to be worried about a noble's matters. Focus on your job Lily before you get fired."

As Lily heard this she just huffed and turned away from Matilda.
