Chapter 6

This world was once very peaceful until dark churches started to appear what seemed like out of nowhere. At first, the dark churches were looked down upon and no one kept them any mind as their membership was scarce.

Years later, there was a big rebellion within a massive empire that was extremely formidable and unshakable. The dark church led this rebellion as they slaughtered every major power within the empire in a single month.

Not a single ruler in surrounding empires would lend a hand since they were convinced that the rebellion was started due to the mistreatment of the lower-class citizens within the empire. These rulers soon after would regret their decision, allowing evil to spread so quickly.

Soon after the entire empire was under the control of the dark church, rituals and sacrifices began. Many of their citizens were exchanged for demons from the underworld, and the stronger and more loyal citizens were given great strength to help expand the darkness.

War began to grow within the restless world and many smaller dark churches began to appear all over the world in larger cities, small towns, and there was no sign of them slowing down. Once this happened, the bearers of light flew down from the heavens to assist the leaders of the world to slay all that was evil and dark.

This would be the beginning of the unholy war. Brother against brother, angel against the demon. This war had been fought now for over two hundred years. Both sides continued fighting, and it was known that both sides were now equal in strength.

At the beginning of the war, the side of light completely outmatched those who served in the darkness. Countless low levelled demons were slain daily, and it seemed as if this war would be concluded within the first ten years. No one would expect that the dark church would be able to capture the daughter of the high priest of the church of light.

Using the most innocent virgin woman that walked the earth as a sacrifice, the dark church was able to summon the Lord of Darkness, their commander and god. Once this happened, the dark church was finally able to cause a stalemate in the war and would continue expanding its forces.

Since they were unable to summon their own god onto this world, the church of light began creating different organizations under their banner called towers. These towers would train normal citizens that showed promise and potential and would send them out to battle the smaller forces of darkness.

Training what would be considered field agents, allowed the church of light to push back the dark church's expansion. What they feared the most, was that the dark church would be able to expand their forces far enough to take control of the same amount of land that the church of light possessed.

In this war, the most important advantage that the church of light held, was that they controlled over eighty per cent of the world's landmass and a countless number of humans within their population. If they lost this advantage, it would only be a matter of time until the forces of darkness would end the stalemate and completely devour them once and for all.
