Chapter 44 : Punch like Luffy

"It's a demon!"

Seeing the sudden appearance of a demon, the faces of the two following guards turned pale with fright. They have never encountered such a terrifying creature before in their life. Although there were always rumors about demons, they just thought it as a urban legend to scare others. It's not like one can believe such rumors without encountering one themselves. So now that they met one for the first time, their legs were already wobbly from fright.

Following the guard's screams, the demon also looked at the guards and licked his lips greedily. He really likes the reactions of human they meet him for the first time, their fright is like desert before his meal. It's always beneficial for demons to eat human since human can not only satisfy the desire of stomach but it also improves the strength of a demon. There is no other alternative to such a wonderful food in the world.

Without any delay, the two guards began to flee in a panic.

"Hehe..... good... good, without some hunting the meal won't be good enough."

The demon was definitely in a good mood, he glanced at Haruto and seeing him standing at his place, he took it as Haruto no longer interfering in his hunt, which made his good mood even better.

'At least the newcomer knows his place, I will deal with him later'

The wind swept across and the began to jump from one tree to another like an ape. The demon's laugh and the sound of trees following behind them made the two guards shudder more from fear.

How could there be such a terrifying creature in the world, especially when they felt that the terrifying thing was getting closer and closer to them.

"I'm coming for you now!"

With an announcement, the demon already ran ahead of them. Under the moonlight, those terrifying red eyes were looking at them, as if it was looking at something delicious.

"I will thoroughly this banquet."

The demon made a hoarse voice, lingering in the ears of the two guards like a death scythe. Slowly a foul smell appeared. getting scared out of their mind the guard pissed themselves but still they didn't stop running.

"I."

The ground shook when the demon's feet stepped on the ground and the figure rushed towards them at an extremely fast speed.

"CAUGHT."

Facing the bloodthirsty demon the two guards were too scared to resist.

"YOU!"

Then a crisp sound resounded in their ears and the demon's attacking claw was blocked by a blade. The two guards stared blankly at the blade that appeared in front of them and at some point of time the boy in the bamboo hat stood in front of them.

"Leave, you're are not capable of fighting against it."

He glanced at the two people who had already become pale in fright and urged them to go without looking down on them too much. There is nothing to despise in a person's instinctive fear when facing an unknown creature, just like when he faced such a creature for the first time, he was also scared witless.

"Thank... thank you."

The two guards scrambled to their feet, thanked him in trembling voices and ran towards the shrine.

"You brat..."

"Are you letting go of such a fine meal!"

The demon looked at this scene with a roar and wanted to chase after the two humans but the boy's blade slashed at him again. A strike with ample amount of force which made the air around it scream.

"Damn it!"

The demon roared and hurriedly dodged. The blade strike struck the ground where the demon was standing a moment ago, cutting out a deep ravine.

The demon jumped to create some distance,and looked at the scene in front of him with cold sweat brimming down his neck. If he had just been cut, he doesn't know how long he would had to recuperate before he could recover.

At the same moment, Haruto's system also showed the information of the demon in front of him.

[A/N: If you guys find the system too troublesome than just think of it as Haruto's demon ability to gauge and take the ability of other after killing them. Anyway the system won't have too much involvement other than skill taking in the plot.]

Haruto was slightly taken aback by the information that appeared in front of his vision. He has seen the super bounce. Just now, the demon was jumping fro one tree to other even when they were far apart from each other. But what kind of ability is Splitting?

"Damn it despite being a demon, you're actually helping humans"

The demon gritted its teeth and a viscous liquid flowed from the corner of its mouth, giving it a nasty feeling.

"No wonder demons are hated by people. If I were a human now, I would hate also hate ugly looking demon like you."

He looked at the demon in front of him and seemed to be conversing with himself.

"Damn it, bastard it's tour mother who ugly. I will definitely rip you to shreds."

The demon roared angrily and its figure bounced up, tossing and turning among the trees, like a black shadow, whose trajectory was hard to discern.

"Damn did he ate bane bane no mi fruit or something. Should I punch him like Luffy did to Bellamy."

Haruto joked to calm himself, than he placed his blade in front of him, letting out his breath. Haruto was fully focused, actually every time Haruto holds a blade he feels as if he could do anything with it. It should be like his demon innate ability making him good in fighting with blades/swords.
