Chapter 6: Meeting Uncle

I took baby Rio to work. "Jim are you there?" "Hey there. Zuri. I'll get the guys." "Everyone line up outside! We got a visitor!"

I backed up enough so they could line up. "Zuri brought her baby with her. She wanted you too meet him." Then I spoke. "His name is Rio. After my birth father." They all lined up to see him since they couldn't touch him with their dirty hands. Once they all finished, I said, "WE are having a get together in a few days I was wondering if you all wanted to come. That way you will be cleaned up and able to hold the baby." "Sure we'd love to. Thanks for inviting us."

I went back home to take care of the little man. When we got home, Jims wife Tanasia and their little boy were there. "Oh well hello. There." "Oh your home. Sorry to barge in on you. We wanted to see the baby." "Yes of course." I sat down with Rio and there little boy River came over. "Baby." Said River. "Yes that's right. Baby's name is Rio." Little Rio was rubbing Rio's head gently." "Good boy being gentle River." Then he went to go do something else. "Would you like to hold him?" "Yes of course." "Oh he's so cute. I'm sure his father is looking down from heaven smiling at his son." "Yeah I think so too." "Hey Kade. Is Hazel still at work?" "Yeah why?" "In a little bit I want to pick him up early. I want his boss to see the baby sooner so I can talk to the Elder about something." "Ok sure." "While you talk I can watch the baby for you with Tanasia right?" "Yes of course. I'd love too."

I went to Hazels work and the boss was at the info center. "Hello there sir. I brought the baby with me. Is my fiancé here?" He must have heart me cause I saw him coming over. "What is it? Is everything ok?" "Yeah its fine. You don't have any deadlines do you?" "Not at the moment why?" "I was thinking we can stop by the elders earlier. Kade and Tanasia can watch the baby. She is visiting with Kade." "Let me get cleaned up and I will be right out." The boss held the baby like he was a precious treasure. "I take it you have kids?" Yeah they are teenagers. They both are Kade's friends." "Oh ok. They must have been the ones that said the baby was squishy." "Haha yep. That's my Liam." "Ok I'm back." "Here is your son Hazel. I'll see you tomorrow at work." "Yes sir."

We went back home and dropped Rio off. "Ok we are off Kade." "OK hurry up. I want some time with my nephew." "Haha ok." Hazel and I kissed Rio. Then we left.

"Is the elder in?" "Yes go on back." "Elder are you there?" "Yes come in. Hello you two. What do you need?" "I want to talk about going to meet uncle. I know I have to wait a month at least before I can go anywhere. I need to wait a year to bring Rio." "I see. That is good. So when did you want to go. I can send word." "Well maybe the following month sometime. Could you let him know not this coming up month but the following month sometime I can come by. Let him know he can see the baby in a year or he can come down. If he sends a date we can work around it." "Yes I will send word. How are you feeling?" "I'm feeling good actually." "That's good." We visited awhile then went home to the baby.

"We're home. How did everything go?" "It went well actually. Tanasia enjoyed herself. So did I. She told me when to feed the baby I know how to change him now." "That's good." "Ok we will be off." "OK thanks again." "Yeah anytime." "So what is the verdict? When do you leave?" said Kade. "Well it won't be this coming up month but the next one. We will have to see what Uncle says about when." "Hmm. Oh yeah you will be coming too Kade." "What do you mean I'm coming? What about Rio?" "Don't worry. He will be fine for a few days. We discussed that I would stay with the baby for the first time. Your uncle can meet me next time with the baby." Said Hazel. "That makes me feel better." He sighed in relief.

Time passed and it was time to meet Uncle. It was the middle of the month. He was going to send us a carriage. I held the baby while I could before our carriage got here. An hour later it was here. "Bye baby. Be good for daddy ok?" then I kissed him. "Be good for your dad. He took good care of me. He will do the same for you. You will have more people to help out than your daddy did when I was little. Love you little nephew. See you in a few days." Then he kissed Rio on the cheek. We both got on and the carriage door shut. "Bye Hazel." I gave him a kiss and the baby one more for the road. "I love you both." "We love you too." "Ok lets go already. Enough making out. Gross." Said Kade. Then we chuckled a bit. "Ok lets go now."

It actually took the carriage 2 days to get here. "So I guess our mothers home was 2 days away from the village the whole time." "Yeah it sure was." I was tired. I laid my head on the wall of the carriage and closed my eyes for a bit. "Oh sis. You need to slow down a bit. You over work yourself too much." He got up to kiss his sisters forehead then sat back down. Then he rested himself. It was going to be a long ride to the palace.

Finally 2 days later we made it. We dressed in the best clothes we could. "Follow me." said the driver. We followed the driver to the stairs of the palace which luckily weren't that much. The door men opened the door for us and we were told to wait in the throne room for the king. Luckily we didn't have to wait long. My uncle came in and I curtseyed while my brother bowed. "Rise both of you. Its good to see you both. Come here." We both went up and the king came down. "Follow me to the parlor room please." So we did.

Once we got there and it was just us, the king grabbed us and hugged us tight. "Uh.." We were both confused. "I thought you were both gone. I thought I had lost my sisters most precious little ones. My Niece and Nephew. I'm so glad you are ok." "Excuse me your majesty. What is going on?" "Oh yes. I should probably explain." Then he cleared his throat. "Well As you know Kade, when you were born your mother was attacked. Your sister was staying with your fathers family Uncle Ben and aunt Lia with their kids. They were on their way to see you Zuri. They were on their way to get their baby girl back then everything went to hell. I'm glad you were both safe. Kade. Did they treat you right?" "Well I had parents until I was 5 then they were murdered. It was just me and my brother Hazel. So we had neighbors take care of us until he was old enough to take care of me when he was 18. He was only 8 when I was found. So for 10 years I was raised by my neighbors. I am 11 now. Zuri is 17." "Really your 17 now? Did you get your demon?" "Yes I did. I got it the day before my 17th birthday. I still have amnesia and don't remember anything. I only know what I am told." "I see. So can you tell me what happened to cause you to end up at the village?" "Yes. I was told to marry someone I didn't want to. I ran away from my aunt and uncles house and I jumped into the river. They thought I was dead. Aunt Lia is working for the prince I was supposed to marry. Ben found out I was alive and came to visit me." "I take it you know what you are?" "Yes Zala told me." "Zala are you still in there?" "Yeah you turd. Is there a way to get me out now? I don't need protecting anymore." "Haha I guess you don't Zuri put the necklace right there." So I did what I was told and he pointed at the necklace then a bright purple light came out and there was a demon. Does this mean you are a pure demon?" "Yes I am. I don't like Labels. Here half or not we are family. I gave her a hug and cried. I'm so glad to be where mom was raised." "Hey its ok Zuri. Its all going to be fine." said Zala. After awhile I calmed down. "The elder told me I would get my memories back faster if I came here. For some reason I have flashbacks of memories here instead of with my aunt and uncle who raised me. Why is that?" "I think what's happening is your getting your early memories back. Once that happens, then the others will follow." "Hmm. Makes since. I want to show you my demon tomorrow we had a long ride." "Yes of course. Mind if I do it?" "Sure." "By the way kiddo's my name is Aiden. Call me uncle Aiden." "OK Uncle Aiden see you in a few hours."

Zala showed me to a room and Kade's is next door. Which was a relief to me. Thank you Zala. See you later. Sure." Then she left and I went inside my room to check it out.

I let my hair down and took off my shoes. "Soft carpet feels so good." I took one of my books I packed and was about to read it when there was a knock on my door. 'Knock Knock' "Who is it?" "Its Kade." "Come in." He looked around my room. "Nice room. You got carpet too." "Yeah you do too? Its comfortable right?" "Yeah. It sure is. Is everything ok Kade?" "Yeah just checking to make sure you are." "Sigh. I will be. I just want to know why people lied to me or didn't tell me all these years who I am. I mean yeah it would be nice to know you existed until now. That you survived and were safe." Kade came over to sit next to me. Then he said, "Sis. No one in the family knew remember? Uncle said I wasn't there anymore with mom. He hoped I was safe and I was. I grew up with a loving family." He rubbed my back trying to comfort me. "I'm sorry Kade. I'm supposed to be the big sister. Here I am crying like a baby." "Its ok. You're a girl. Plus a lot has happened. You just found out who you really are. You never even knew when you had your memories." "I know. Hey Kade? Can you stay here with me until I fall asleep?" "Of course I will. Lay down and get some rest." So I laid down and got under the covers and closed my eyes. We talked a bit until I really did fall asleep. I swore I felt a kiss on my forehead from him. Then I smiled in my sleep. Kade left quietly not to wake her. Then he went to his room to rest.

There was suddenly a knock on Kade's door. "Who is it?" "Its your uncle Aiden." "Oh com in. Do I have to bow when you come in to my room?" "No don't worry about it." "What do you need uncle?" "How is your sister?" "Oh she's fine. Just taking things pretty hard. Everything came at once. First her memory loss, then finding out I'm alive and who she or we really are." "To be honest, I think she would be better in the demon village then with her aunt and uncle." "That is her plan. Since she is 17 years old now she can make her own decision. She has one more year before she is officially an adult but still can't drink alcohol." "Does she want to stay with you and Hazel?" "Yeah well that's the thing. Her and Hazel are engaged to be married in a year or 2. She has friends here. Back at the village she had no friends and a troublemaker according to her or should I say our uncle Ben. " "Hmm. I see its probably good she stays then. She has friends and a family of her own now. Uncle Ben is thinking about moving here so he can be closer to us. He already talked to him and has a place ready they just have to see abut Lia first before they officially move. Is there a way you can get the prince that wants my sister to make a deal with you or something? He complaining he needs an Heir and wants a demon child and knew that she was a demon somehow but didn't mention it to her yet. Do you know of another demon or half demon that can marry him?" "Zala said she is looking for a man. She is 16 and a pure demon. I'm sure he would like her more. I will try to get in touch with him. If he comes over I will make sure you both are in your rooms or outside somewhere he can't see you ok?" "Thanks Uncle we appreciate it. Also we are sorry about your family." "Thanks Kade. Looks like the next family will be in line unless I have another heir. Whether he is adopted or not he will still be one." "Well if that's the case uncle. Does she have to be a royal? Could she be a commoner?" "I don't care. As long as I can produce or adopt one. I was afraid to adopt one without a mother for them." "If that's the case when we go back would you mind coming with us? I have someone for you to meet." "OK sure." "It's a thank you for helping us out." "Dinner will be ready soon. Do you want to come down or eat up here?" "I think for today I will eat with my sister. Can you just bring up a little of everything for us to try thanks." "Of course I'll have someone do that." "Thanks uncle. I'll see you later." He left and Kade laid on his bed and get to rest.

A couple of hours later someone came up an got our food. Kade was in my room. I thanked the butler then he left and it was just us two now. "Did you have a nice rest Zuri?" "Hmm. I guess so. Until I had a nightmare in the end."
