The Three Gods

Brighver Mountains, Derunia, Earth

***

Burnt twigs and different colored leaves created the smoke as it danced in between the Harbinger and the Seer. The smell was different, seemed to have mixed with other elements that created a foul smell as if they just finished the witch's ritual. They sat comfortably and Dreygo sensed no hostility within the area but only the Seer.

"There are a lot of things I need to talk about, Harbinger." The Seer began while she offered a cup of tea to Dreygo which he instantly refused.

"There are things I need to know from you, Seer. Where is Kragus? What are his plans?" Dreygo sounded in a rush.

"Before I tell you his whereabouts, let me enlighten some thoughts for you to ponder." The Seer said and she continued, "Do you know why they call me a Seer, Dreygo?"

"You better hurry up, Seer. I am very impatient." Dreygo taunted the Seer while he started to grip the blade in his right hand.

The Seer did not even flinch from Dreygo's taunts nor she regarded him as a threat.

"I can see the future Dreygo and I can see everything." She said. "I understood how the three worlds function and depended on each other. It would seem that what you understand from your standpoint is that Kragus intends to conquer Earth and destroy the balance of the three worlds in the process."

"For that I am sure." Dreygo agreed. The Seer grinned weirdly.

"Kragus was a product of betrayal, which is from the Heavenly supreme." The Seer continued. "They were the ones who controlled the balance of these worlds since the beginning of time – the Three Gods."

"There were only two Gods, witch! Kragus and the Heavenly Supreme!" Dreygo interjected.

"No, Harbinger. There are three Gods. Arkeus Velar of Heaven, Kragus Manaroth of Hell, and Nebirus Azathot of Earth. They created man on Earth and created a system to maintain balance. A reward system if you might look at it."

"Manufacturing of man is on earth and their ascension to heaven or descent to Hell depends on how they live their lives based on laws created by these Deities. Limbo was a wordless place where these souls are judged, as you have experienced."

"Since the beginning of man's creation, these deities had agreed that they will each rule one of the three worlds to maintain the balance and keep the system from running smoothly. As Arkeus is the oldest of the three deities, he was the one who decided on which one to rule.

Kragus is the youngest, so Arkeus gave him the cruelest of all environments, Hell. Heaven, the most beautiful amongst the three worlds, for Arkeus himself. Nebirus spearheaded the creation of Man so it was just perfect for him to rule Earth."

"Kragus' first reaction was to disagree but they had settled as Arkeus told them that Nebirus and Kragus should have one millennium to rule and then they would trade places afterward. It has been six millennia since the birth of man, but Nebirus was out of reach."

"Kragus got frustrated with waiting for a thousand years for his brother to agree with the swap but he did not hear anything from the god of Earth. He even reached Arkeus, but he was also unreachable in this regard. Kragus got more frustrated and so he decided to come to Earth." The Seer explained. She paused and sipped tea from her cup.

"But why disrupt earth's peace and kill many innocent lives? He needs to stop or else the balance of the three worlds will be destroyed." The Harbinger interjected.

"I do not know Kragus' intentions. But one thing is for sure, he wants to find Nebirus. For him, human souls were just nothing. He looks at the bigger picture and he grows tired of everything. Even being a god, he got frustrated sometimes. " The Seer said.

"That is why angels cannot take on Kragus themselves because he is a god. That explains everything. " Dreygo presumed.

"He has unimaginable powers and is very cunning. No angel warrior, even the strongest ones, should match his powers. Only gods can destroy gods."

"That is a lie!" Dreygo's voice raised. "I could kill him! He is weaker when he is on Earth."

"That is true, gods become weaker if they transferred themselves from another world. Their respective worlds supplied them with powers over time. They created an unimaginable bond to their worlds and their respective gods. Detaching themselves from their worlds, the bond will cease. But I think, even a Death Harbinger is no challenge against a Hell god. You indeed had been blessed with his powers but that would not suffice to kill him."

"We will see about that!" Dreygo was convinced that he possessed the power to kill Kragus.

"I dare you to do that and discover it yourself."

"I am well aware of what he's capable of but what about Nebirus? What can he do?"

"Nebirus is a manufacturer by nature. Not more of a warrior but what he can create can fight for him. He is the most intelligent of the three. He might know that Kragus is on Earth right now and wanted to find him. That is the reason why Kragus killed so many humans, for Nebirus to appear before him. He will not stop until he sees the Earth god."

"Maybe it's the right time to tell me where Kragus is, Seer. Or I might get impatient and kill you with my Ferrum Minus here."

"I will tell you when it is the right time. There is one more thing you should know Dreygo." She paused and took another sip from his tea then she continued, "Do not trust much the angel, Dreygo. He is just using you."

Dreygo's face churned. "I won't believe anymore with your lies, Seer! I think you do not know where Kragus is. Maybe it is about time for you to die!" Dreygo, without a second thought, threw his Ferrum Minus aiming at the Seer's chest as he maintained his position.

The blade punched through the smoke that wafts in between them and towards the Seer. The projectile was lightning speed but the dagger ceased from hitting the Seer as it stopped an inch before her chest. The Seer did not flinch a bit, her smile remained. The dagger strangely floats in the air like someone invisible was holding it.

"You are an impatient one, Dreygo." The Seer said, smiling. Dreygo was surprised but it was expected. It was not easy to kill a Demon witch, especially with her level. They had various powers of black magic and telekinesis was one of them. The Seer was surprisingly fast to react and was able to stop the blade from hitting her sternum.

The blade's point slowly turned while it was afloat. It turned 360 degrees and now it was aiming back at Dreygo. The Seer held her finger up and flicked it and the dagger quickly launched forward like a bullet. The blade was successfully buried in Dreygo's left shoulder.

He was not able to catch it and did not have the time to evade the attack. Dreygo screamed for pain and blood gushed out as it trickled down his garments. His stomach churned and blood was forcibly escaping from his throat. It settled in his mouth for seconds and urged the Harbinger to cough the blood out.

"It was unnecessary Dreygo to attack me." The Seer calmly said. "I intentionally missed your heart. It is just a lesson that I am far more powerful than you. You had not recovered yet all of your Demonic powers. Your speed, your senses, and even your strength."

Dreygo continued coughing while pulling the blade out. He felt excruciating pain in the process as his face scowled from it. His mortal body felt every detail of pain in his left shoulder like deadly ants continuously eating his flesh. He was not used to it, he already forgot the sensation of pain when he was a human. It made him weak and almost fainted, but his mind retained its strength and leveraged his right hand to remain in his sitting position. His vision started to blur and he fluttered his eyes to regain his clear vision. He knew he can endure it, he must or he could die in that house.

He then recognized that the power he had was not enough to kill her. A few more demons to kill or much more to regain his full demonic capacity. He did not know the number. He said, panting and his voice cracking, "Maybe it is the right time to tell me, Seer. Or I will use whatever I can to kill you. You better choose your words wisely from now on." He convinced himself that he could still fight the Seer. His killer instincts swayed him that he can still do it.

"Ok then." The Seer took another sip from the cup until it was empty. "Kragus is in Meropas. He intends to blow the oil rig established in the seas. He said he wanted to talk to you."

Dreygo stood up, wobbled a little bit, and started walking outside the house. "Remember Dreygo, do not trust the Angel." The Seer recommended.

Dreygo paused to walk momentarily while hearing those words but he did not glance back. Grunting, he then continued to walk towards the door.
