The Journey.

A restless night swung over into a day of desperation. I started to crave that smell of Moluan. His delicate rose scent that lingered on his body. It made me restless, I wanted him, I still want him now.

With a twist and turn, I woke up from the long night before me. Dreams still switching on and off in my head. Eyes still half open, I swayed towards the bathroom just 2 metres away from my bed.

Zigzagging across the wooden flooring, I scurried off, entering the blacked out room, a toilet, a large marble sink, a shower, and a small tub. Hidden away in the darkness of the shadowless area.

A million thoughts swarming in my mind. But one seemed to fill me with joy, "I'm going to Moluan today!" I blurted. A smile spoke on my face, and a rush of adrenaline slithered into my blood.

Hurriedly running back into my room, grabbing onto anything I need, "Mary!" I yelled out the door.

"My-my princess! What's the matter!" Mary stuttered, alarmed by the sudden call.

"Tell the girls to start packing my necessities right this instant. We are going to the land of the humans" I claimed proudly. Startled yet again, the shy maid paced off into the distance into the castle. "Maybe I should tone down the yelling" I muttered as Keith entered my Chambers calmly.

Long hours of getting ready, and packing finally reached it's end. A sigh of relief swept into the air. Everybody was rushing off to every corner, making sure everything was ready, and finally their hard work had reached it's end. "Thank you everybody for their good work!" I praised. A couple smiles, bows, claps, had settled the atmosphere.

But there was one last step I needed to take to reach my goal. The treasure itself was a weeks time later. I myself let out a warm sigh.

Mary made her way back to me. Her glasses had tripped down to the edge of her nose, hair untidy, and her clothes ruffled in a mess. She seemed very keen about her duties today. "Keith" I called out. The patient man with a fresh attire came striding towards me- you could tell the difference between the new and the old workers of the castle in an instant- "Is everything ready?" I asked quietly.

"Yes my princess, you may start your journey tonight" Keith replied, relaxing my muscles with every word he spoke. An elegant man he is.

I searched for the fur cloak hung by the coat rack. there it was placed right above everything else. Placed on an area of pure cleanliness and perfection. I wrapped it back around my body and set off out my room and down the large stairs.

The carriage and horses were already patiently waiting there for me to arrive in the front garden. About 50 other maids were standing in line setting me off to a safe journey.

After a couple hours in on the bumpy road, excitement has already entered my heart, making it beat faster and faster by the minute. Every memory of me and him just kept replaying over and over in my mind. Moluan, I remember when I first found out I had to marry him. It was an absolute disaster.

Spending hours thinking about him made me slowly more fatigued until I fell into a deep sleep. Only the slight croaking of the ravens filled my ears. They yelled like an alarm, but for nature. I winced my eyes, and dozed off back to sleep.

A sudden knock and rattle of the cart awoke me. Clashing and swinging of swords, and silent whimpers of pain. An ambush!

Mary swung her head around to face me. Her eyes widened and her eyebrows groped in fear. "come over this side" I whispered to her ever so quietly. She nodded her head and frowned with sadness. She stood up steadily, so quiet I could hear the squelching of foot steps outside in the mud.

"Master, I found some gold in this chest!" the unknown man squawked.

"Good job Nine! Aha we are goin' to be rich!" another man screeched

"Wait until Wang pi'er hears about this, he's going to cry in joy" His voice similar to a pig's oink.

Mary stood right infront of me, frozen in fear. At this rate the men outside would easily reach the carriage. She took another step. The sudden Clatter of the metal jug, surprised me, and probably startled whatever was outside. They seemed to be moving faster then usual.

"Did you hear that Master" The man whispered,

"Yes Nine I did, now be quiet so I can hear if there's something there!" Their large foot steps seemed to be coming closer and closer. Until an abrupt stop. Right against the carriage door. Mary covered her mouth in an instant. I had to think of something fast. something to stop us from having to fight these men.

This pathway was the only secret pathway made for royals to cross lands easier without having to come across bandits. I wondered what made this the exception. Either someone knew of us being here. Or these poor peasants happened to come across this path by accident.

Nine unfastened the carriage lock. Slowly revealing the contents of what's inside the carriage. Soon they would know what the loud crash was that located in this vehicle.

I grabbed Mary's arm in a hurry and unlocked the seal to the other entrance of the carriage. From the other side, I could hear the unbuckling of the other lock. Right then, the bandits pushed their way into the carriage, just as I managed to swing open the door from the other side.

I pushed Mary off of the platform. She recovered from her state to reveal her perplexion of fear muddled onto her face. She was shaking like a stray. "Run!" I yelled at her. "My Princess- I can't!" she yelled back.

"Just run Mary for god sake I can handle these men!" I ordered. She seemed to understand. Twisting right back around, Mary headed for the woods that lead into the entrance of the human land.

"Nine! Go get the other rat! I'll deal with this beauty" The bandit wailed as he licked his lips, still applying pressure onto my body. At this rate I'll have to use more force for this one.

A surge of strength rushed into my body, as I managed to escape from the man's clutches. He fell to the ground in great force. Running back towards the man named Nine and Mary. I found myself being chased by the other bandit I thought I got rid of.

"You won't get rid of me so quickly pretty!" He yelled. He clasped onto an object that seemed to shine under the moons light. A closer inspection revealed to me that, that object was indeed a blade. "You will regret it if you pierce my delicate skin" I warned.

Both men let out a loud chuckle. Nine gripping onto Mary, with her arms behind her back and I was left face to face with a man armed with a weapon.

Charging straight at me with full speed. I was ready to dodge his attack. I soon found myself to be very wrong.

The strong electrocution of pain made my hairs stand. Giving me a cold shiver. The muffled sounds of screams rung in my ears. I bled out. I toppled and fell right beneath the man's feet. Me, The vampire princess of Deadrae, cannot die of a simple stab wound.

Unexpectedly, I heard the clattering of horse hooves, and men running against the muddy earth. A familiar voice called out to me in desperate search to see if I was okay. I'm glad Mary is finally safe.

My eyes blacked out. Soon, the noise around me had suddenly betrayed me. It was only silence. Had I known I would be so useless, I would've tried to run with Mary too. Maybe I would've became less of a nuisance. I would've been able to protect her, And my self. Thanks to the person who found us so soon. Otherwise we would be be dead, or even worse.

The pain was intolerable. It disgusted me. The blade stood in my body, stabbing me every time I moved, or was moved. As time passed, my body started to fail me. I became unfuntionable starting from my finger tips, all the way down to my legs. I felt embarrassed knowing I was so careless.
