Chapter 5: Father-Son Duel

"Young Master, The Lord is calling you." 

"Where?"

"To the training room."

Training room

Two individuals stood next to each other preparing for the battle. One was holding a wooden sword in a battle stance while the other was calmly staring at him with folded hands.

"You understand why I called for you, right?" 

"Yes."

"Then Let's begin." 

The atmosphere became tense as they both stared at each other.

Swish

A soft breeze flowed through them indicating the start of the battle.

Boom

Loki sprinted towards William and swiftly performed a vertical slash on William.

Ting

The wooden sword launched straight at William and then he took his right hand out and blocked it using his forefinger.

" Hmm…The form is good but the strength is quite lacking." He analyzed Loki's attack and dealt with it instantly. This was the insight of one of the strongest humans throughout the empire.

Loki jumped back maintaining some distance then took a deep breath.

He disappeared and instantly appeared behind William.

He performed a horizontal slash which got deflected by William. He had anticipated it so He followed up with a kick on his jaw.

" Interesting…" He dodged my kick and performed a flicker right in my forehead sending me crashing on the floor.

He shakingly stood up while holding his sword. 

"Damn it," He cursed inwardly, feeling the pain coursing through him. His forehead had turned red from the simple attack. 

A sudden chill ran down his spine, waking him up as he ducked downward.

William's fist passed by right where his head previously stood. 'That was dangerous.' Loki thought, feeling slightly nervous.

He tightly gripped the hilt of his sword and performed countless slashes towards him.

William blocked everything perfectly without breaking a sweat while Loki was here sweating buckets.

Various cracks started appearing on the wooden sword and its durability continued to decrease with each passing second. He had already realized that William wasn't just blocking my attack, but was trying to destroy my sword.

Loki continued to attack him while observing William's movements. He was desperately looking for a gap or weakness. 

" Hmm?!.. I could do that." He muttered as a crazy idea formed inside his head.

The sword's durability chipped away until it was on the verge of destruction.

The sword broke apart its pieces scatterring around the ground.

"Now!" Loki yelled and stamped on the ground producing a cloud of dust.

He swiftly appeared before William and threw a punch straight at his guts.

His fist got helplessly caught by William but Loki didn't give up. He followed through with a powerful uppercut using his left hand. 

It rapidly approached William's chin. 'Please work.' Loki gritted his teeth and used every energy within him in that strike. 

Sadly, right before it could connect with William's jaw, he grabbed it, making the attack futile. 

Loki struggled a little before giving up. The battle was finished the moment Loki's both hands were caught. 

"You've improved, Son. You exceeded my expectations with that last attack." William relied as he softened his grip letting go of Loki's hand.

"Continue to Improve, Become Stronger. Remember, The world only respects strong." William left the room as he whispered the last part.

"Yes." Loki nodded, feeling relieved. It seemed his father finally acknowledged him. A genuine smile appeared on his face as he slumped back on the ground.

"That was intense." Loki chuckled. Bella swiftly approached him and cleansed his sweat with a towel.

The awakening was tomorrow. 

"Hmm… I've completed my physical training so the mission should probably be completed tomorrow. 

Deceitful System huh… Just its name sounds shady. If it's overpowered then fine but if it's like those where you have to grind till death just for a slight increase in strength then I can't be asked, man.

This world is way more dangerous than I thought. I still can't believe I would have died to that assassin 3 years ago if it wasn't for the system."

Loki continued to whine as he made his way toward the bathroom."That hits the spot... Ohhh…" He moaned, feeling the cold water.

After having a long, relaxing bathing session. He entered the library and browsed through the books.

The history surrounding this world was quite a mystery. He tried searching everywhere but couldn't find a proper explanation of it.

Most of the results were either lost or incomplete. All He got was some information regarding some of the races surrounding them.

Most races in this world were intelligent species, so, The relations between other races and humans were not bad except for some malicious races.

There are also other powerful beings in this world. Don't know much about them though.

My brain is already hurting just thinking about it. Let's just meet Kiara and play with her.

"Yayyyyy! Brother tell me a story!" Kiara ran towards Loki after spotting him and started pestering him.

" My little sister, How much energy do you have? Aren't you tired?" Loki helplessly picked her up as she giggled.

"Story! Story!.." she started chanting the story while giggling cutely.

Man, it's times like this when I enjoy and clear my depressing thoughts.

" Alright! Alright!, calm down." 

Amelia quietly entered the room and smiled watching her kids.

"Kia, How about I tell you a story today?" she smiled as she watched her daughter getting excited.

We enjoyed a happy family time together but wait something feels missing.

Tch.. damn that old man, always busy with his work.
