I looked up and asked her. " Wiat you're gonna go home by yourself? ". Lacy seemed a bit confused. " I mean I always wlak home by myself. ", Lacy responded . " Dont see the problem with that. I looked at her in shcok and worry.

I know that she is tough and strong and an independent WOMAN THAT DONT NEED NO MAN. But my inner caveman instincts suggest I should walk her home. " Let me walk with you! ", I told her. " Maybe I can do a little jog with you.

" Um ok. " Lacy muttered. We left the gym as it started to rain in the cold spring night. Lacy was only wearing a sports bra and leggings and was not prepared for this kind of weather. I pulled out my umbrella and held it over her.

Lacy gave me a sweet and a beautiful smile. No teeth or cheeky. A genuine smirk. I dont know why but at that moment, something just snapped something inside of me.

Lacy and I arrived at her apartment complex. She took a deep breath as the fog coming out of her mouth was the only thing you could see in the night. " Well this is my stop! ", She smirked. " I'll see you at school,Eric! ". Lacy entered the building as she waved goodbye.

I like Lacy. She's ambitious and thoughtful . She's a way better friend than Joey. I stoll like Joey but Lacy treats me like she actually cares about me and wants me to better myself.

Suddnely, a man smoking a cigar walks up to me. He was average height with a lot of facial hair and overweight. " So, you've been one of Lacille's clients! ", the man said. " Yeah she sure is a bundle of joy. ". The man put out his cigar as he put his hand on my shoulder.

" Listen, don't get involved with her family! " the man whispered. " They'll cut you! "

My heart sank. What does this dude mean by this? Who are Lacy's family?

I wanted to go inside and get answers. But the rain was getting harder and I ran home.
