Chapter 6 Training Part 1

  After agreeing for Celestine to tutor me, she started to explain the Status window.

"the value that status windows showcase sometimes follows your preference, for example. in your case, there is something called evaluation. what the evaluation is showcasing your description for someone or something."

  while saying that, she looked at me with a questioning gaze asking me whether I understood her explanation. I nod to confirm that I understand. 'well, I have guessed that the value of the status window follows the preference of the user. because there is no stat for luck in my status window. it's because I never believed that such a thing was necessary for winning.'

"their reason is so that the user could easily understand, through using something that you are familiar with. the tiering system usually follows what the owner believes is right, but some have the same meaning no matter which system you believe in, strength is always about your power, endurance is always about how long you can stand, etc."

  What she means is, that no matter what the concept is there is always some similarity.

"But usually company has its tiering system that is universally used, and understanding it will help you a lot. for example, we grade someone through how much they are useful in a given situation. usually is about strength, but not all the time rather is through whether they could deal or support in dealing with certain tiers  of 'Abnormality' or 'Anomalies'. the tier system goes from 0-9 the count is from the smaller number to the bigger number, 0 represents that they just started to work and 9 represent their possibility to deal with many case of Anomalies. The tiering system follows a strict code of titles, first is which department they come from, followed by what kind of position they're in, then followed by their code name, and lastly their tier. during the mission, always use your code name, and during formal events please use your titles. this kind of system was created with the purpose, that no matter where you came from you are now just an employee of BlackCo. for reference your title is BR-FO01-MoonLight-0, BR stands for The Department of Blue Rose whose job is to deal with cases of Abnormalities, FO01 stands for Field Operator Number 1, while MoonLight was your codename, and lastly, 0 Because you just started working. do you understand this far Mr. Chandra?"

  I nod my head, 'Well this kind of job surely has some kind of tiering system, not only that the reason why they use code name. maybe, for the employee to not have deep emotional relationships with other employees.' remembering the grave and willow tree in front of the basilica, 'this kind of job eats a lot of human resources... it's not like I could just go back and say that I resigned to the CEO.'

"Then I will start to call you MoonLight from now, do you bother by it?"

"Yes, no problem."

  She started to call me by my code name and stopped using my name. 'I couldn't blame her... after all this kind of job makes you question the value of a relationship with other employees... but, it still hurts when you think about it.'  she just continued her explanation without an inch of wanting to know the feelings of others.

"Now I will explain the 'Abnormalities' or 'Anomalies', Abnormalities or Anomalies are when there is something that isn't created with the law of that world but rather created by a possibility. you see every action taken by living beings in this multiverse, creating 'possibilities'. possibilities that are created by that action, will hold tremendous power to create a phase. phase is a reality that differs from the 'proper' reality, and showcase possible outcome from the action that took in the 'proper' reality. these phases that are created, can't be observed through natural observable equipment but need special equipment to observe it. the reason is that phase has a different frequency from 'proper' reality."

  from what Celestine had said, abnormalities born from the power of these 'possibilities' are created by phases or other realities created by a living being's choices, and the abnormalities that are created try to influence the 'proper' reality. in summary, Abno was the creation of our choice and thanks to that they came to our reality.

"may I ask a question, Ms. Celestine?"

"you may MoonLight." 

"Would that make magic, this place, and other fantasy races 'Abnormal'?"

"The answer is yes but no at the same time, you see. In the case of other fantasy races, from their perspective maybe you are the abnormalities, but from your perspective, they are the abnormalities. is just a matter of perspective, but in our case. some of them are not abnormalities, because some follow the rule of their world, for example, an elf even though is powerful still need to eat. but there are some that we think of as abnormalities, for example, slimes."

'wait... that slimes right... that transparent slimes right... how the hell they could become abnormalities... wait don't tell me!'

"You see slime is unique, like a jellyfish an animal without a brain. but there is some fascinating thing about them, which is that they don't need to eat. they just consume everything they can feel, but it's not out of an urge to eat it just their purpose. they eat not out of the need for it they eat because they just know eating something, they could live without the need for energy, they are just like a 'perpetual Machine'. just like what you suspect."

'well, it just confirms my theory... you see in the fan book that was created by BlackCo. to explain the setting of the games. it said that Slimes are different from other entities, even though they kill NPC, Or the Player doesn't level up or get stronger. it's because they are always the same no matter what happens to them... if some of the games could be said simulations for another world, would that mean slime is some sort of 'perpetual' machine, that has it system that never runs out of energy inside them because they always the same.'

"now let's, talk about the 'phase'."

  Celestine tried to bring my attention back to what she was going to explain.

"you see you are right about this place being an abnormality, you see this basilica is a phase in its own right. this basilica exists in another reality that is not in the main line. what is the main line? you ask. It is a line of reality that could be said to be the 'proper' line of reality, where it will branch off other realities or phases that still connect with the main line that we call inside the main line. but the reality created from a dream of someone could be called outside of the main line, like a dream. the reason for that is because reality is not a branch, but rather an imagination within someone. is like the CEO's office, or like this basilica that was created by someone. someone that could create such a thing called 'magic god' or 'color' tier if it refers to a human being who could make phase."

  then would that mean, Celestine is on that level. after all she could be told the operator of this world. is still a theory, but it has a higher percentage of being true.

"well let's change our topic shall we, after all the phase is still irrelevant."

  Well, what she said is correct, for right now those 'magic god' or 'color' tier is something that should not be my problem. and I am not some kind of higher-up who should be informed about this kind of thing, I'm but just a lowly operator. if I want to no more I need to rise in rank.

"About magic is the same problem as fantasy race, some kind of magic could classify or border with abnormalities. for example 'true magic', you see magic is about understanding reality and using mana to 'tweak' some of the reality to create the result that we want. for example, fire magic, when you create fire magic you must understand what fire is. after knowing what fire is, you try using mana as the source while you become some sort of biological computer and combine those to create a 'phenomenon' of fire through understanding its creation and replicating through the usage of mana. while true magic doesn't need to follow the law of 'cause and effect', you just need to think of fire without the need to understand the concept of it, and the fire would exist. while an example of the magic that is borderline with abnormalities is arcana or 'magnum opus', which is a deep understanding of something and created magic system through that understanding of something. for example, fire magic arcana could be a manipulation of 'thermodynamics'.

  in a nutshell, fire magic is to create fire by manipulating mana to create fire by some sort of chemical ignition. While Arcana understands the concept of fire and tries to control its 'heat' to create hotter fire. while true magic could just create fire without the need for chemical reaction and could control its 'heat' just by thinking it's hotter, it's like manipulating reality.

"Because of that, we tiering a magician by their understanding of Heaven, the language of the world, or The Law. we tiering them following the Tree of Life diagram from the bottom to the top there are Malkuth(10), Yesod(9), Hod(8), Netzach(7), Tiphareth(6), Geburah(5), Chesed(4), Binah(3), Chokmah(2), and lastly Kether(1). while Malkuth just simply creates a spark of fire, Kether Otherwise could manipulate reality to create fire. the reason we use this tiering system is that it showcases the journey one has to take to understand heaven, The language of the world, or The Law to use that understanding to become the 'Best'. There is many Magic School or Thaumaturgy, that teach how to artificially create 'phenomenon' through the usage of mana and understand The Law. Because of that, magic and science could be said to have a relationship. but for the purpose of the training we going to learn the Eastern magic of your world, The Tao or The Way. If follow the other worlder teaching is about aura usage."

  she then sees me asking me wether I still follow her explanation, I nod my head to confirm that I still follow the explanation.
