Prologue

The idea of death has always been an abstract, far fetched concept that, despite being an inevitable occurrence, I managed to exclude myself from the possibility of ever going through this horrid ending that seems to be the conclusion for all living things.

Quite the introduction isn't it? Well, death has always been a subject people prefer to avoid all together, until they come across it, of course. We tend to live as if this phenomenon is far fetched and is likely to affect others except ourselves. Unfortunately, so often this particular occurrence tends to come when we least expect it.

My name is Mathias Trent, 31 years old and a self proclaimed agnostic. Or rather, I was one.
