Chapter 37: …Defeated

~Third POV~

As the black smokescreen [Shamak] came over the field Akame and Bulat were able to retreat from the sudden attack unfortunately Tatsumi raised his hand towards the two as his hand became darkness.

Throughout the [Shamak] spell Tatsumi says out loud his next move as that gets Mine attention in the black smokescreen, "[Dark Water]."

Extending one arm towards his opponents, Tatsumi activates [Dark Water] by using the gravity power of his darkness to pull them into his grasp and straight into his [Shamak] spell.

The two assassins caught off guard against this type of attack were forced inside but as they made contact with [Shamak] they lost their senses temporarily only having the sense of their feet on the ground to tell.

But Tatsumi already rushed in behind Akame and quickly disarm her of her [Murasame] without Akame realizing that her weapon was stolen put away in his [Dark Space].

If the assassins were up against any other magic user of Re: Zero, they would've had a chance unfortunately for them they heavily relied on their senses to fight thus making [Yin Magic] their enemy as its de-buff magic takes away a person five senses.

Thus, Tatsumi already attempted to send a single chop to Akame's neck and quickly disabled her from continuing the fight as he grabbed her, "That makes one down and three to go."

"Bzzt!"

Avoiding the blast directed towards him he moved to Bulat spot and knocked him on the head to the ground hard enough for him to stay down.

With that, he carried them both out of harm's way as he placed them away from the yard as he looks at two left on the wiring with a glare on his eyes, "Hey are you their sniper in the group? Because if you are then you're a lousy shot!"

That immediately got Mine angry put kept a calm head seeing the situation but smirked to herself as the two are in more danger means more power for her.

Mine is a young girl of below-average height she has very long pink hair tied in twin-tails on the right and left sides of her head, although on occasion it is free-flowing.

She has big pink eyes and wears a pink outfit, consisting of a tied shawl with a high collar, a pink long sleeve shirt, a gown, and black stockings with pink shoes.

With her Teigu [Roman Artillery: Pumpkin] a gun-type with the uses of spirit energy as ammunition and fires it in a concentrated shockwave.

One of its main properties is that its power and range increased in proportion to the level of the danger its user was in.

No ammunition was needed to load Pumpkin it was capable of rapid-fire burst shots of spirit energy and had a detachable, high-tech scouter in a compartment that fits around the user's eye.

As Mine fires off her weapon she replies to Tatsumi in an agitated voice taking a clear shot to his head, "Oh yeah? Well, why don't you see it for yourself if I'm a lousy sniper bastard!"

Tatsumi taking that as a challenge simply answered with eagerness in his eyes, "Very well then just be careful what you wish for sniper."

With that he went straight towards the fire of Mine Teigu as Tatsumi it was highly powered up of the danger the user faced but his counter to it was using his [Authority of Lust: Variation and Change].

As the beam was coming towards Tatsumi he breathes in and released out a stream of [Black Flame] of the Re: Zero world using his Authority quickly burning up the spirit energy blast to Lubbock and Mine shocked seeing that her attack was being consumed by the [Black Flame].

But Tatsumi advanced didn't stop as he was now atop the two above the air before Lubbock could do anything Tatsumi used another spell of [Yin Magic], "[El Vita]."

Suddenly the both of them felt that their bodies became extremely heavy under the weight increase of their gravity under the [El Vita] spell but not before Lubbock managed to use one of his strings to make a scratch mark across Tatsumi face surprising him.

But as Mine was falling to the ground Tatsumi quickly got out of his stupor as he catches her in-flight already negating the spell except for Lubbock as he was knocked out then the spell of [El Vita] stopped.

As Mine was now in close range of Tatsumi with him holding her away from Pumpkin she didn't fell to fear, but he shakes his head as he flicks her head surprising her, "Sigh, you people are really stupid you know that? Also, you missed your shot."

Mine getting the mock that he gave her soon get angry as she yells at him with clear rage in her voice, "No I got the shot perfectly right it was your fault for going straight in! But considering you captured my friends you – "

That was when she was interrupted as he places a finger towards her lips as they reached ground level already changing back to normal as he says to her in a glare, "Nope as much as you would assume so I just wanted to talk to you guys but frankly your two friends there on the ground decided to assassinate me dead for seeing you to their defense I have to agree but frankly they just messed with the wrong enemy."

Mine was surprised but soon gets angry as Tatsumi uses his [Dark Water] to absorb Mine Teigu [Pumpkin] and the case with it along with Lubbock [Cross Tails] with fascination.

Tatsumi looked over to where the cut mark landed and saw small traces of his blood there clearly still surprised he smiles thinking that he can already mass produce the same quality of thread when he uses [Authority of Lust: Variation and Change].

Tatsumi thinking this was already happy to know that some things can still harm him as the string as he thought to himself, 'Interesting these strings were still able to harm me maybe I should recreate the same substance with my [Authority of Lust: Variation and Change] testing for later.'

As Tatsumi was confiscating the weapons while Mine yells at him Echidna and Beatrice were handling against the other members of Night Raid Leone and Sheele.

Sheele a slender woman with long purple hair and purple eyes she usually wore a revealing sleeveless lilac cheongsam with detached lilac arm sleeves and white boots.

She usually had her Teigu with her and she wore glasses and had a scar on her right cheek.

Leone is a young, curvaceous woman she has short blonde hair with two long tufts that frame the sides of her head and golden eyes and wears a revealing outfit with a black tube top, detachable sleeves, pants, boots, and a scarf around her neck.

In her transformed state, her hair becomes longer, and she gains lion ears, tail, and claws.

As the two were staring down against Echidna and Beatrice Leone was being very careful against her as she can smell the [Witch Stench] coming off from her keeping her distance away from the duo.

Echidna glances at the outside as she smiles gently at the two as she asks the both of them kindly, "Tell me you two your friends are down and have been captured by my friend we wish to talk about this in a peaceful solution or else…"

Echidna expressing a witching smile towards the both of them as Beatrice flares up her magic to pressure the both of them making them sweat, "… I might have to actually try to defeat you…"

The pressure was enough to make the twin assassins sweat but Echidna read through her [Gospel of Wisdom] and frown knowing the results that they will attack as it was predicted in her book.

Before the two could do anything Echidna used her [Authority of Sloth: Unseen Hand] summoning seven of them and quickly caught Sheele off guard as she comments her Teigu, "You my dear is certainly troublesome to be dealt with especially your weapon [Extase] truly lives up to its name to cut down anything."

Echidna said this was true since she read in her [Gospel of Wisdom] it read the following text in her book that now changed the course of actions that made her target Sheele first instead of Leone, '… Echidna will use her magic [Minya] and [Authority of Sloth: Unseen Hand] on Leone but as Leone was immobilized Sheele with her [Extase] was capable to cut down the unseen hands and black the [Minya] spell despite not seeing the hands made Echidna lose her focus in surprise seeing the results…'

With the [Authority of Greed: Everlasting Knowledge Seeker] Echidna will be able to predict the fates of everyone so long as they follow their own path and thus makes it the perfect use of knowledge to predict and plan with a guarantee to avoid or manipulate the fate of others with her knowledge alone.

Leone seeing this knows she couldn't do much except going after Echidna but at that moment was Beatrice took her action as Echidna studies the near future, "I won't let you get anywhere near my mother beast human! [El Vita]!"

As it happened to Mine, and Lubbock Leone was hit down to the ground with the increased gravity making her stuck.

But two of the unseen hands have gotten the Teigu's of Leone and Cheelse.

[Cutter of Creation: Extase] the scissor-type and [The King of Beasts Transformation: Lionel] belt type.

Leone could only look in frustration as the two of them were completely defeated without much effort from the Witch of Greed and her Spirit daughter.

As Echidna took their Teigu's she quickly touches them with each of them fascinated as the next thus making sure that the compatibility with them to her is always a match since her thirst for knowledge made her a prime cadent for these weapons that many don't consider.

But to her someone from another world, it would be always a 100% compatibility with her as she considers each of these weapons a success with a minor flaw here and there but a success that made the Teigu's connect well with her.

Leone and Sheele were both surprised as Echidna examines them without any penalty as her face brightens with excitement going into her little world, "So these are the Teigu's that Tatsumi asked me about these wonder items are truly brilliant I mean I already read their creations and blueprints but to see how they completed each of them is a masterpiece in itself as the process to create them where difficult to get correct the first time truly fascinating…"

Beatrice sees her mother is going into 'over-examine mode' smacked her on the head as she returns Echidna to her senses again, "Mother you are over-examining things again."

Echidna returning to her senses again blinks in confusion but then laughs nervously at her attitude earlier.

With that, they both brought the both of them forcibly to the living room as Tatsumi placed Mine down as he grabs Akame, Bulat, and Lubbock with his unseen hands.

Mine seeing that the situation is over asks the question in her mind to him, "You know if you turned us into the Empire you could get more out of us that way so why aren't you silencing us when you clearly have the chance?"

Tatsumi glancing over to Mine smirks at her question as he replies to her in a happy tone, "Easy because so far you people of Night Raid certainly get the job done killing corrupt officials or true sociopaths in power that most can't reach. I say you guys are needed more than ever plus I happen to like the Revolution taking care of things just not all the violence needed but with Esdeath around it's the only solution."

Mine stays quiet at this as the alarms are happening around the area Tatsumi clicks his tongue in annoyance as he releases his darkness surrounding him taking into a shape of a long serpent dragon shocking Mine.

Then that said serpent moves around the Capital scaring most people ignoring the current forces getting close to Tatsumi's new home.

Mine seeing just asks in a clear surprised tone no longer trying to piss him off now since if he was able to do that with them it was very clear to her that he was playing with her group.

Mine was finally able to speak her voice again once she found the words she was trying to ask, "Tell me… what exactly are you…"

Tatsumi not sparing glance replies in a proud voice to her, "Simple I'm just a good-hearted magician trying to survive in this crazy world of life, and besides we need to discuss this later anyway and the name is Tatsumi Mine. Also by the way your hair pink…"

Mine prepares to flinch back in case he was about to say something rude only to be surprised by his answer while following behind him, "It's very beautiful I think it looks great on you despite your foul mouth how else would you get married anyway?"

Mine knew for sure that Tatsumi was going to be a very annoying person to deal with.

As the rest of the Chat Group members were very surprised to see the fight till the end with peace leaving a smile of relief as they ended the call for the night…

Except for Ruby as she was having wet dreams of the [Roman Artillery: Pumpkin] combining with her weapon [Crescent Rose].

That was enough for her to wet the bed later in the morning.
