After a loud crash, Jante was knocked into the cargo ship, and it was unclear whether he was alive or dead.
With Jante taken care of, the mysterious figure turned his attention to the boxes that the tattooed gang had loaded onto the ship.
He opened one of the boxes, and the first thing he saw was a layer of lead used to block X-ray vision. Inside were some powdered substances sealed in plastic bags.
Seeing this, the expression behind the optical goggles of the mysterious person changed.
Because the packaging of these powders all had a skull emblem, which was the symbol of the Skull Gang.
The Skull Gang was one of the largest criminal organizations in the metropolis, one of the few that could survive in the city, and their strength far exceeded that of gangs in other cities.
The mysterious person took out a bottle of liquid from somewhere and sprinkled it on the packaged powders in each box. Then, he tossed all these boxes into the sea.
After completing all of this, the mysterious person left the dock satisfied.
After ensuring that he was not being followed, the mysterious figure, still wearing the black and gray armor, returned to his rented garage. He sat on the couch and retracted the helmet covering his face, revealing a young face.
His thick, black hair was slightly disheveled from the helmet, and his pure black eyes had a sharp, determined look. His handsome face gave off a sunny vibe.
This young man's name was Jero, a traveler from another dimension, and also a high school senior studying in the metropolis. [T/N: MC's name is Jerald, shortened to Jero in the TL]
Over a decade ago, Jero had arrived in this world, landing in Smallville, Kansas, the same place where Superman grew up, and he had foster parents, both with the last name Kent.
Yes, Jero's foster parents were the same couple who adopted Superman. Superman was his older brother.
Combined with some urban legends, Jero felt like he had landed in the DC Universe.
Now it was the year 2010, and Jero speculated that within at least two to four years, the Dark Overlord from a higher-dimensional world would "invade" Earth, and the sky would be covered with a vast array of biological weapons, pushing Earth to the brink of destruction.
After that, there would be invasions from parallel universes, a multi-universe-level demon trying to find his daughter on Earth, magical riots, Old Gods invading... A series of major events would continuously come one after another.
Fortunately, Jero was not an ordinary person. With the help of his older brother, he discovered that he could absorb solar energy to become stronger.
At first, Superman thought he had met someone from his own race, but Jero's powers were far less formidable than Superman's, and he didn't have as many super abilities.
However, Jero found that he was highly intelligent and had a keen interest in mechanics. At the age of eight, he could disassemble and reassemble a tractor with his bare hands. So, his adoptive father, Jonathan Kent, made the effort to send him to a better school in the metropolis, starting from high school.
In the recent summer vacation, with the help of Superman, Jero returned to Smallville, and with his help, Jero found a spaceship that could be activated with his genetics buried beneath the town.
According to the information in the spaceship, Jero roughly understood the source of his powers. The source that gave him abilities similar to Kryptonians was called the Ultraman Factor, derived from a creature he was very familiar with: Ultraman.
But according to the spaceship's AI, there was also a portion of human genes in his body, meaning he wasn't a pure Ultraman.
This left Jero puzzled. How could he have Ultraman's genes, and why did he appear in the DC Universe?
But this dangerous universe didn't leave room for Jero to ponder too much. With only the Ultraman Factor, Jero couldn't gain true Ultraman-level power in a short time. He needed external assistance, which meant relying on armor to grow faster.
With the help of the spaceship's AI, Jero created his first "official" armor – the Ultraman Armor, Utility Modification Type, designated as US-01Z.
This armor was a simple modification of the spacesuit on the ship, primarily used for data collection to prepare for the development of future armor.
"Oya, should my second set of armor be ready?" Jero, sitting on the warehouse's sofa bed, called out to the name he gave the spaceship's AI. In addition to the AI, Jero also named the spaceship the "Ultraman's Light."
The Ultraman's Light was a spaceship, but it could also hide underground for covert operations. Jero used this ability to park the Ultraman's Light in the underground storage of the warehouse he rented.
"The Ultraman Armor, Enhanced Type, has been completed and fine-tuned after receiving the data. Jero, would you like to see it inside the Ultraman's Light?" The voice of the AI, named Oya, echoed in Jero's ears.
Upon hearing this, Jero couldn't contain his excitement. He said to Oya, "It's done? Show it to me quickly!"
Following Jero's command, Oya activated the spaceship's teleportation system, transporting Jero into the hidden Ultraman's Light underground.
After all, the Ultraman Armor, Utility Modification Type, was just a prototype with a simplified Spacium Core. Even the helmet was an unfinished product, mainly used for data collection. It was destined to be replaced by new armor sooner or later.
With the data collected after completing the prototype, the Ultraman Armor, Enhanced Type, designated as B-Type, was perfected. Designed and manufactured by the spaceship's AI with Jero providing combat data, it was the second-generation Ultraman Armor. Compared to the prototype, the Enhanced Type was a significant leap.
The design and coloring were inspired by Jero's memories. The armor had a built-in teleportation system that could work with the "Beta Capsule" teleportation device to aid Jero in his "transformation."
The forearms featured Spacium Blades that could generate blue Spacium Blades when activated. They could be used for both offense and defense. Removing the blades revealed the control unit, and when both hands were joined, the armor could fire a Spacium Beam.
The palm area could release circular energy rings with serrated edges. In addition to these features, it had stealth and flight systems.
It was like a scaled-down version of the silver and red giant who had landed on Earth! The bright silver-red armor was beautiful, and it perfectly mimicked the true Ultraman's aesthetics.
Jero couldn't help but place his hand on the storage compartment, looking at the unactivated Spacium Energy Core. He was unable to contain his excitement.
Jero felt like he was losing control. The streamlined silver-red armor, the cold optical goggles, and the ultimate industrial design – it was just incredibly cool! Exoskeleton armor was a man's romance!
The next morning
After a night's sleep, Jero got up from his bed, rubbed his somewhat sleepy eyes, and then got up to wash up.
After freshening up, Jero made a simple breakfast and then slung his backpack over his shoulder before heading out to school.
Jero arrived downstairs, boarded the bus, and went to the school where he was enrolled – Oaktree High School, to start another day of studies.
Time passed quickly, and the end of the school day was approaching. Just when Jero thought today would be an ordinary day, the teacher on the podium, dressed in a brown suit, made an announcement.
"Recently, the LexCorp Group is organizing a campus exhibition event, and our school is on the list. Next Wednesday at 9 AM, we will gather at the school and go to the LexCorp Tower for a visit."
