Metropolis
In the bustling gathering, just as Jero was about to decline Lena's suggestion, Clark intervened and responded on his behalf.
"Jero's free time is quite limited, but I believe you'll have the opportunity in the future, Lena."
Seeing Superman unexpectedly advocating for Lena, Jero looked puzzled and glanced at Clark before walking silently behind him.
"I'll be looking forward to that day," Lena replied with a sweet smile, one that could almost enchant anyone, but Jero remained unfazed.
Later, Lena left the group, and Jero used his telepathic abilities to speak to Superman.
"Why are you being so friendly with Lex's sister, Clark? Have you forgotten that Lex almost killed Dad?"
"That's in the past, Jero, and it was Lex's father who did those things," Clark replied in a similar manner. "Besides, Lex is my friend."
"But Lex Luthor isn't a friend of Superman," Jero calmly stated. "Lex and Clark are friends, but Lex Luthor and Superman are not friends, and they're even enemies. I know all about your history."
"You're right, Jero," Clark didn't refute Jero's statement at all. Instead, he offered some advice, "But you don't need to be so hostile towards Lex's sister. I believe you can become friends."
"...," Jero didn't want to continue the conversation.
Because the press conference was starting. After an impressive entrance, the brilliant bald head, Lex Luthor, appeared before everyone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to LexCorp's product launch..."
Following Lex Luthor's speech, a massive eight-legged all-terrain robot, about ten meters tall, appeared before the audience.
"This machine can easily lift over three hundred tons, and it's equipped with state-of-the-art firepower. It can effortlessly destroy ten meters of steel. It's an outstanding machine."
Watching Lex Luthor praise this machine, Lois Lane had already prepared questions to challenge Lex.
As the Q&A session was about to begin, Lois, agile as ever, made her way to the front. Seeing her agility, Jero, who was working as a temporary stenographer, hurriedly followed.
"Next is the time for reporters to ask questions," Lex said coldly, knowing that someone would grill him with questions.
"Lex Luthor!" Lois stepped forward, firing several pointed questions. Lex had anticipated this, answering each question skillfully. Jero was on the sidelines, frantically taking down their conversation.
The conversation between the two happened so quickly that Jero almost wished he could use his powers.
"Stay safe, Lois, Jero," suddenly, Clark's voice reached Jero's ears. Jimmy didn't understand why Clark was saying this so suddenly, but he knew he should follow the advice.
"Danger!"
Jero shouted loudly and used his telekinesis to shield Lois. As for Lex Luthor, he wasn't even in Jero's consideration.
Boom!
The next moment, a bomb exploded in the sky above the conference. The explosion's intense light and shockwave shattered all the glass in the vicinity.
Due to the sudden shattering of the conference center's glass, some people couldn't react in time and were cut by the sharp glass. Blood began to trickle out.
The scene turned into chaos.
Jero realized that if the bomb had exploded inside the conference center, it would have wiped out everyone present.
It was Clark; he had used his super-speed to throw the bomb out of the conference center. However, the bomb exploded unexpectedly, causing the chaos.
The next moment, a figure descended from the sky, landing on the conference stage and immediately taking Lex Luthor hostage.
"Long time no see, Lex," the voice said coldly. "I wonder if you remember me."
"John Corben? You're still alive?" Lex tried to delay and find an opportunity to counterattack with the gadgets he had on him.
"Hahaha." John Corben laughed coldly. "Of course, I'm alive. I can never forget what you did to me. As long as you're alive, I'll seek revenge!"
Years ago, when Superman had just made his debut, John Corben, the leader of a terrorist organization, had stolen weapons from LexCorp. He was swiftly apprehended by Superman but was then handed over to Lex Luthor.
Lex, being who he was, didn't allow John Corben to merely serve his sentence. He bribed a prison guard to slip a special drug into John Corben's food, bringing him to the brink of death. Afterward, John Corben was sent to Lex's facility and subjected to a full-body transformation.
In that process, he became a man of steel with a kryptonite heart, ordered to fight Superman.
During his battle with Superman, 'Metallo' John Corben disappeared, but now he had appeared once more.
In the audience, Jero watched as Lex was being held hostage. He took out a pair of red-framed glasses from his pocket and informed Superman through a special method.
"Clark, I remember you saying that the guy has a kryptonite heart. Leave this to me."
"Be careful; apart from the kryptonite heart, his technology is also advanced."
Clark, who had been about to run to a phone booth to change into his superhero attire, stopped and began guiding the crowd amidst the chaos.
Taking advantage of the confusion, Jimmy maneuvered through the crowd. He put on the red-framed glasses, saying softly, "Activate full-equipped Saiwen Armor, Oya."
"Understood."
Meanwhile, on the stage, Metallo was still holding Lex hostage. He sneered, "Look at you, Lex. Even Superman won't come to save you. You're a pathetic worm."
"..." Lex couldn't be bothered to reply.
Then, in the next moment, two beams of golden light shot towards Metallo's back.
