Chapter 6: The Sisters of Fate? The Last Resort

Poseidon's body trembled in fear, a chill running up his saine as he heard the voice of the last person on earth he wanted to hear.

"I beseech you, Spare Me, I really don't have the Zarthium Ore?," abandonning his Pride, Poseidon begged Ray fearfully.

"You don't have it? Do you really think I have no means of killing you for good?," Ray, his face still blank, threatened.

"I really don't have it!!! I swear to the Primordials!!!... B-But i know the people who do have it!!!" Poseidon said hurriedly, fearing that Ray might end his life for good if he didn't give him any valable information.

Even though he knew that he could revive if Ray killed him again, he wasn't sure if Ray really had any means to prevent him from reviving or destroying his soul, so he decided to confess and save his life.

"You mean its with other people?," Clark suddenly cut in and asked.

Poseidon nodded repeatedly, "Yes, Yes, the Zarthium Ore wasn't Olympus' to begin with, it belonged to the Primordials and they only lent it to the gods of Olympus to aid us during the Titan War."

According to Poseidon, the Zarthium Ore was a treasure which possessed part of the Primordial Essence of Ananke, the primeval personification of destiny who determined the destiny of every living being in the universe.

So with the Zarthium Ore imparting just a bit of Anake's primordial essence into the gods of olympus, they recieved extraordinary boosts in their powers and managed to win the war against the Titans.

However, the Primordials later took away the Zarthium Ore and so, in order to keep the remaining Titans who were still alive and in hiding, from rising up against them again —Zeus decided to make up a rumor that they still had the Zarthium Ore and told Poseidon to create an illusion of the ore and place it in Atlantis, Poseidon's domain.

"The Ore is currently with Anake's daughters —the three Sisters of Fate," Poseidon said, looking rather dejected.

Ray's ears suddenly perked and he slightly furrowed his eyebrows,"The Sisters of Fate?"

"Do you know them, Ray?," Clark asked, seeing Ray's unusual reaction.

"As a matter of fact, I do," Ray replied, stretching out his hand, a square wormhole appearing above it and ejecting what seemed like a pure-white crystal onto Ray's hand before closing back up.

"I guess I still have to use 'this' in the end."

_Flashback to 7 Years Ago After The Vision_

An 8-year-old version of Ray could be seen sitting under a tree in the Kent Farm, his blue and green eyes full of tears.

"I-Is that the fate of my parents? Destined to be destroyed by their own son? Its impossible! Its... simply impossible!," little Ray whispered to himself, still reeling from the scene he saw just a few moments ago in his vision, after using his new meta-ability [Fate Prediction].

"I'm afraid its really going to happen young one," a rather alluring voice echoed out behind him.

Whoosh!!!

With speed inconcievable to the human mind, little Ray suddenly rose from where he sat and turned around, only to see a rather beautiful woman in greek robes standing in front of him with a motherly smile of pity on her face.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?," little Ray asked, his face indifferent, though marred with tears.

"Ah~ what a cute little boy you are," another voice rang out as a teenage-looking young lady with a rather bubbly attitude suddenly appeared next to the mature woman.

"We came to speak to you Raymond, we are the Sisters of Fate," an elderly voice sounded this time around, before a 60-year-old-looking woman appeared in the middle of the other two women.

"And you young man, you've caused us quite a lot of trouble," the teenage-looking young lady pouted at little Ray.

Boom!!!

With a simple wave of his hand, little Ray conjured a fireball using his meta-ability [Pyrokinesis] and threw it at the ground near the feet of the three women, causing it to explode like a landmine.

"I said... Why are you here?," little Ray repeated fearlessly, another fireball forming in his hand already to threaten them.

"That's a little rude, Raymond," the mature woman said, frowning as she shook her head.

The old woman simply sighed and said,"You might not know this, but your existence has thrown the fate of this universe into disarry, which is not good for us who are tasked with controlling the fate of the universe."

Little Ray kept silent, he knew that since he transmigrated into this universe, he would definitely cause some kind of butterfly effect.

"You weren't supposed to be born, we didn't create your fate, so we can't control it either, but we could still look into the fate of your loved ones and while we could only see glimpses, we managed to make out that you would end of the universe...," the mature sister explained, before stopping for the younger sister to take over.

"...We have been watching over you ever since, monitoring the changes to your powers from the shadows...," the youngest sister stopped before the eldest one took over.

"...then, just now, when we felt you intrude into the power of fate and look into the fates of your parents, we figured you had seen what lied ahead, so we decided to come out from the shadows and come help you."

Still maintaining an indifferent expression, little Ray asked,"Help me or help yourselves?."

The mature sister smiled gently, saying,"We don't mean any harm Raymond, in fact, we have something capable of helping you suppress your powers."

Little Ray raised an eyebrow before saying casually, "Sorry, not interested."

The youngest sister frowned,"Don't you want to protect your parents?."

"I'll find a way myself, now leave," little Ray said, not wanting to trust these manipulative Sisters of Fate at all. Their job was to literally control people, he was just relieved that they didn't seem to be able to control his fate because he was a transmigrator.

"Why don't you reconsider, we can help you...," the eldest sister started, walking towards little Ray, only to be interrupted by little Ray who unhesitatingly threw a fireball at the ground in front of her feet to stop her from advancing.

"I said I don't need your help," little Ray said rather coldly.

The mature sister sighed and took out a pure-white crystal from her robe's pocket, saying, "I understand why you don't trust us, I really do, but you will eventually need our help to suppress your powers and when it comes to that, just break this crystal and you'll be brought to whereever we are."

Lightly tossing the crystal to little Ray who caught it and observed it for a while before keeping it in his pocket, the mature sister of fate smiled warmly and then the three sisters disappeared into thin air as though they were never there.

Little Ray never told anyone about this encounter, not even Clark.

_Flashback End_

"Sigh! They probably already knew that i was going to need the Zarthium Ore somehow," Ray sighed as he looked at the white crystal.

"What's that in your hand?" Kaldur asked, seeing the white crystal on Ray's palm.

"My last resort," Ray said vaguely.

He them turned to look at Clark, saying,"Clark, go home for now, i'll be going somewhere and I don't need you to follow me. Tell mom and dad not to worry."

"Where are you going Ray? Will you be okay?," Clark asked anxiously.

"I will..." Ray replied before turning to Poseidon,"...I'll spare your pathetic life for today, you can leave."

Poseidon didn't need to be told twice as he quickly thanked Ray before opening up a Portal and bolting out of there.

Looking down at the white crystal in his hand, Ray proceeded to crush it into dust with a slight squeeze of his hand and then, he suddenly felt a pulling force from the space around him, tugging at his body.

He could easily resist it, but he decided to go with the flow and allow the spacial force to take him away.

Warp!!!

The space warped and Ray disappeared, leaving Clark, Aquaman and Kaldur alone in the middle of the destructions he had caused.
