Chapter 98: Mission*

The deeds of the "heroes" are becoming increasingly popular in the news feed and on the internet especially those of Supergirl and Night Huntress. 

They have both been seen helping people in disasters and terrorist strikes all over the world not just in Metropolis and Gotham.

I've been captured on camera in dark clothes and a mask too, but they talked much less about me than the girls.

A week has passed since I stocked up on Platinum Kryptonite for experiments, and it turned out to contain a huge amount of energy. 

I decided to make the most of this energy that was just waiting to be unleashed.

I made all of these kinds of Kryptonite using alchemy. I just needed to analyze them to understand how to create them. 

It is now easy to get Platinum Kryptonite that gives Superman and Supergirl their powers.

At first, I checked to see how it affected me. 

Somewhere, a gram of this Kryptonite has already had some effect, and my cells have become more active, and my body has been able to accumulate a little photon energy. 

The strength wouldn't be enough to fly or shoot lasers out of my eyes, but it would make an ordinary person physically stronger.

"Yes, then you'll slowly become stronger." 

I nodded.

"Is it really necessary? Are you afraid of something?" 

Lena asked as if sensing something in my words while touching my chest.

"The world is more dangerous than people think. You should have realized that long ago, and yes, I want you to be protected even if I'm not around."

Cortana appeared in the doorway. 

"A small boat is sailing from the Amazon Island."

"Amazon Island?" 

Lena raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, the island of millennia-old feminists... and attractive feminists, but usually it's the opposite. Alright, thanks Cortana." 

I glanced at Cortana who was watching our embrace with some sadness and longing.

"Welcome, Master." 

Cortana bowed slightly and was about to return to her work, but I gently took her hand and pulled her close to me with her eyes widening in confusion.

I didn't experience any problems with the cold or lack of air. 

Next, I checked the recent estimates from Cortana and the drones hovering over the island of Themyscira. 

Recently, there was some kind of competition there, and many Amazons participated. 

Diana was prohibited from participating, but she came and passed all the tests better than other Amazons.

In the end, she fought with dozens of her sisters and easily emerged victorious.

One of the drones was monitoring the "boat," and I knew where Diana herself was, fully armed with a shield, sword, and the Golden Lasso. 

I had no trouble teleporting close and floating above the water.

"And what does a lone Amazon want to find swimming in the ocean so far from her home?" 

I asked while watching as the princess stood up from her raft.

"It's you, Anthony Luthor." 

Diana recognized me and smiled.

"I'm heading to your world on a mission."

"My world? You know we live in the same world, right?" 

I gently landed on her raft while causing it to tilt slightly.

"The world of men." 

Diana added. 

"I've received tasks from the gods themselves. I need to integrate into the world of men and establish peace on Earth." 

Diana said it as if it were an easy task.

"From the gods themselves? I doubt that the likes of Ares want peace."

After I finished my words, Diana stepped forward and tried to hug me, but I quickly flew to the side. 

I could fly using magic before, but manipulating gravity around me was quite pleasant. 

I could do even more if the photon energy continues to be absorbed in my cells.

Diana stared at me like she didn't get why I moved away.

"What?"

"The goddess said you should like it, and it will bring us closer." 

Diana explained her strange actions.

"Which goddess, Aphrodite?" 

I sighed heavily.

"This... goddess can offer even more, don't forget she's the goddess of love."

Diana tilted her head as if she were not understanding what I meant.

"By the way, since you can fly yourself, why didn't you just fly across the ocean?" 

I inquired.

"I can't fly for long. I can spend some time in the air and then descend." 

Diana explained this to me while already reaching out and grabbing my hand. 

The teleportation seal flashed the next second because I wanted to move quickly to show something. 

We were then instantly on top of the LuthorCorp building.

Diana's eyes widened in shock and curiosity as the view from above of the vast Metropolis rarely left anyone indifferent.

"Is this... the world of men?" 

Diana asked with interest.

"Princess, stop saying 'the world of men,' it's not called that. Nowadays, many believe that equality has come and men are not superior to women... but well it depends on the person." 

I didn't delve into details.

"Oh? According to Mother's tales, this place is where men try to belittle women and may sell them like cattle." 

Diana replied.

"Your mother must have been away from the 'big world' for a long time." 

I rolled my eyes at such a "worldview." 

"Here's a tablet, let me show you how it works." 

I took out a LuthorCorp tablet from my dimensional ring and began teaching Diana how to use it.

"It's amazing! There is so much information, so many books, and... captured moments in such a small device." 

Diana marveled with impatience to start exploring the world using the tablet.

"Yes, humanity has come a long way over the years, and you'd better learn English first. We're speaking Themysciran currently that is a combination of classical Greek and Turkish."

After that, we still descended a couple of buildings, where I showed her her apartment and kitchen and activated a program for beginners to learn the language. 

I think she'll quickly pick up the new language. 

I could have taught her the language using Legilimency or simply a magical seal... but I don't think there's much point.

I had thought about introducing her to my sister, but she was busy at the moment. 

Therefore, I left Diana with access to a huge amount of information and went to Cortana.
