date with Diana 2 (chapter 24)

In Washington, D.C., a sleek silver Jaguar purred to a stop outside an apartment building. Cain emerged, clad in a crisp white shirt. Leaning casually against the Jaguar, he glanced up, catching the gaze of Diana, who leaned over the apartment window. She offered a subtle smile at his wave before gracefully drawing the curtain closed.

A few minutes passed, and amid the curious glances from onlookers, Diana descended to meet him. Cain, with a charming grin, complimented, "Consider me enchanted because I am definitely digging that dress." He approached Wonder Woman, wrapping his hand around her waist, and they shared a deep kiss.

"Jaguar... didn't know you were a cat person," Diana teased, glancing at the car. "Well, if I have to buy a car, it's a Jaguar," Cain quipped, opening the car door for Diana before sliding into the driver's seat. "So, where are we going?" Diana inquired. "I have an idea. Quick question, have you ever ridden a dragon?" Cain asked, turning to her.

"Yes, why? Do you have something to do with that?" Diana responded, curiosity sparking in her eyes. "Let's just say you're going to ride a dragon in more than one way," Cain replied, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

"But first, Italian or French?" he asked, glancing at a new spell he had acquired. Diana pondered for a moment before deciding, "French."

-scene change-

"And the thing, it wasn't even that serious," Cain and Diana laughed, gazing into the night stars as they sat on the hood of the Jaguar. "God, I missed those years," Cain said, leaning back into the car. "Yeah," Diana replied, also leaning back. "Do you really have a pet kangaroo?" Cain asked, turning to her. "Yeah," Diana said, earning a surprised look from Cain. "Hmm, okay," he said, taking a moment of silence. Diana broke the silence. "I am sorry," she said out of the blue.

"Where did that come from?" Cain asked. "I am sorry that I can't spend as much time as I wanted with you. I know that I have been bu-" She didn't get to finish as Cain interrupted, "Hey, I am dating a superheroine, not to mention one that comes from an island of only women as well as a demigoddess. So, it would be kinda selfish of me to ask you to make me your number one priority," he said as she remained silent.

"Plus, we both have our duties. You have to save people with the Justice League. You have to save people in D.C., Washington, in Boston. You need to be present if something happens back on your home island or if your gods need you. But personally, I suggest you cut ties with those selfish asses," Cain said, getting a surprised look from Diana, who chose to ignore the last part of the sentence, knowing he did not like the gods, especially the Olympians.

"As for me, I have to practice my spells, and I need to attend to the museum. The point is, although I might not be a hero or the biggest fan of your Olympian gods, we are both going to be busy. So, we are not going to spend every single second of our life in each other's arms. It's best that we cherish the time we have with each other, and as long as we remain loyal to each other, there is nothing that is going to break us apart. Plus, I can always teleport to you, or who knows, I might be one day able to stop time for both of us," Cain said as he sighed.

"That would be a dream," Diana said as Cain nodded. "Are you really okay with the fact that we spend so little time together?" she asked. "Trust me, Diana, I do want to raw dog every chance that I get, but there is more to life than each other," he said, needing a lot of time to level up himself. Diana got up, pulled him towards herself, and gave a very passionate kiss, which actually left him dizzy. "See, it only makes moments like this more magical," he said, genuinely meaning it, which Diana could feel. They stayed in silence for a couple of minutes before Diana broke the silence again.

"Hmm, you are not a fan of the Olympians?" Diana asked, finally deciding to address his issues with the deities. "Yeah, if we start to talk about my issues with the Olympians, we are both going to end up regretting it," he said, not elaborating further. "Anyways, about that dragon," Cain said as he got off the car. "Yeah, I have ridden a..." Diana didn't get to finish her words as she watched Cain contort into monstrous proportions, and before long, Cain had taken the form of a dark dragon with a silver underbelly and a glowing abdomen, with four legs, two huge wings, and four horns all facing backward.

"So, princess, would you let this dragon kidnap you?" Cain asked, leaning his head down to Diana's level, who seemed shocked. "Yes, yes, you may," she said as she got off the car before leaping onto his back as Cain took off.

"You might want to excuse me if I don't fly straight; this is my first time experiencing flight, not to mention in a body that is not mine," Cain said as he noticed his altered speech pattern. "So the spell also affects your speech pattern," Diana said as they felt the wind blowing past their faces. "Yes, it does seem so," Cain said as Diana smiled, saying, "It does make you sound more dignified and serious," which caused Cain to say, "What, are you saying that I speak vulgarly usually?" feigning being offended. "Cain, you just said that you wanted raw dog me; it's safe to say you don't speak formally," she chuckled. "Well, that I do not," he said, flying up higher and higher before they went through the clouds.
