RUFUS WAS ANGRY WITH CARLOS FOR MEDELLING

Feeling as though his heart could jump out his chest the way he was happy. 'Lord, my dad approve of this relationship, he is giving his consent for us to get married.

Now I know they won't be so angry when I reveal the truth to them, Lord, should I tell them the truth now? It make no use hiding this information from them any longer and if they want to have a reception, it will be their choice.'

Hearing Carlos saying, "That is not possible Dad."

Clenching his fist Rufus becoming angry with Carlos for always pushing his mouth, and when did he enters my room. He is always snooping around listening to other people conversation.

I only hope he didn't hear what dad said earlier, but why is it he always pushing his mouth as if he don't say something, his mouth will stink. Sometimes he really makes me annoyed.

"Why is that Carlos?" Rawlins asks, angrily, knowing he never wants anyone to be happy except himself.

"Dad, that pretty little lady is already married." Looking at Rufus, happy that he had that information in hand, so he won't go embarrassing himself.

But just supposed she was lying to me? Oh my God, and if they get married it will be rather embarrassing if she reveal what we had discussed.

I can't let Risha hear that, then that will be another issue she will have to complain about. Courtney was right I should have just send her back and not try to prove a point getting married before Rufus.

Hearing his dad saying, "You are lying Carlos."

"Nope, I am not dad, she told me that herself."

"Carlos, will you just stop the lying." Rufus, snap knowing now he cannot say anything, closing his eyes feeling this rage towards him.

"Ah, I see you have fallen in love with her little brother, but she is somebody else wife already."

"Shut up, you hear me, the way you behaves sometimes I really wonder if you are a Dawson, always selfish and thinking about yourself."

"I can see you are angry with me but who's fault is it? You should have asked the right questions when you was hiring her?"

"And what question is that?"

"Well for one , if she was married? Now little brother, if you could remember the day I meet her by the grove, she told me her husband is working in a plantation.

And he will be returning sometime between November and December, so she will be returning home to her family soon."

"Carlos, why are you always making up lies," Rawlins question.

"Dad, I am not, she says the reason she is working is to make up money to pay for her Mom surgery, and she said her Mom is in a wheelchair, I am just repeating what she said."

Recalling how she was pleading to him saying her mother is unwell, I know she is a Christian and she will not lie or call sickness upon her mother.

'Oh Lord, I only hope Tamara is attending to her mom, because if something happen to her, Courtney will never forgive me.'

"Then if that is the case, I will have to pay her for the work she did and what she is doing now. Rufus, did you pay her for the job she did for the wedding?"

"Dad, when I went, Ma said she went for a walk, so I didn't meet her." Rawlins looks at him knowing his parents left the Monday morning. He must be just saying that because of Carlos, and keeping Ma and Pappie secret.

'What is the point, if I question him now, and from what Carlos is saying, she seems to be a straight forward person.

Our plan was for the boys just to get distracted, but I like her a lot, and she would have been the perfect wife for Rufus, seeing she enjoy working in the mill. They would have been a great team.'

Saying, "Okay, if that is the case, she has already work two weeks and this is her third week, so I will have to pay her for everything."

"Dad, will you see she don't do any stannous work, if what Carlos say is true, then maybe she could be pregnant?"

Rufus thought, 'Oh God, now would have been the perfect time to reveal the truth to the family, after what had happen with the storm.

And I know the few months ahead will be very trying and having their support will be less stressful.'

Recalling that morning when Dad found us after the storm, I almost sell myself out, it's a good thing he didn't pick up on it.'

Turning to the footsteps that was hurrying through the door, "Did I hear you three discussing Courtney?" Cheryl asks.

"Yes Mom, Dad wanted Rufus to propose to Courtney."

"Oh my God, why on earth I didn't think about that before, I see my husband is now thinking like a true King."

"He maybe mom, but we are late, she is a married woman."

"What?" Rufus, sees the disappointment in her face the same way dad look when he heard that she was married.

My disappointment is that I cannot give them the new now, but I am happy knowing they are ready to accept her as my wife.

When Carlos said, "Yes Mom, it is true, she told me that herself."

"Rufus, did you know Courtney was married son?" His mom asked,

"I am afraid not mom, but you know I don't like to pry into people life."

"Rawlins, didn't you say she was signing bills at the mill? But only Dawson sign the bills and make receipt for the customers."

"She told them she is my niece, love."

"Are these men so stupid, you are an only Son, so where would you get a niece from?"

"Well my love, if they accept that as an answer, then I am glad, because she is doing an excellent job, and I am getting to rest and think much clearer now.
