RUFUS PRAYED

Knowing how his grandmother is, Rufus hid the truth saying to her, "Grandmother, just supposed she went on the beach, and you know how the tide raises suddenly."

Hearing his grandmother saying, "Please son, I am worried as it is, don't give me more to think about right now, let us think positive."

"Sorry grandmother," watching as he returns to the room.

Rufus seeing her case was not touched but fear builds up knowing she was angry with him, and she is his responsibility.

Feeling this fear inside of him. "Oh Lord, I only hope she doesn't feel she could run away, she is my responsibility, and no one knows that we are married.

Please my God, I know I did wrong by her, so I am asking you to forgive me and keep her safe."

Sitting quietly behind the couch, as both of them walk to the gallery, crawling on her hand and knees to the room.

Going to the room closing the door then feel around for the bathroom, with everything that was happening.

'I had completely forgotten to brush my teeth, all this time my only hope was finding a way of escaping, but where can I go now? hearing that I am on some Island, how will I be able to get away now?"

Changing in a dress from the case that is set aside by the bed, whispering, "I can't afford to give up, I must make a friend, and when the opportunity arises, I will find a way to escape."

Opening her eyes, hearing the rain was still beating on the roof, "Isn't it, morning as yet?" Feeling the hunger that did not quench since yesterday rumbling in her stomach.

Going towards the kitchen seeing the lantern on the table, the house was very quiet. Taking it up then walk into the kitchen.

'If there's a refrigerator, then there must be something generating current to have it working.'

Opening the fridge to see what it have to eat, getting a bottle with some milk it was not much, putting it to her mouth drinking out all, then took out cheese and butter.

'It must have a piece of bread somewhere stash away?' Looking inside the cupboard, "Oh boy not even crackers."

Noticing a box, and a small basket on top of the counter, checking only to find a small piece of whole wheat bread in a basket, but it was soft, "Thank God."

Cutting a piece just in case the owner comes hungry, passing some butter and put a slice of cheese then rest the lantern on the table and return with the sandwich to the room with a glass of water.

"I miss reading my bible but David didn't have the scrolls all the time, Is that why he said, Thy word have, I hid in my heart so I will not sin against thee?

But then he commits adultery with Bathsheba, and put the husband in front of the firing squad. Should I do the same and will you forgive me like David?"

Eating the last of the sandwich then coating some scripture verses that come to mind, then she repeat, The Our Father prayer."

Hearing the cry at a distance, thinking, 'What type of animal is making that scary noise?'

But then her mind runs to Kyle, whispering "I miss seeing you so much, I only hope you will forgive me, but this isn't my fault."

Feeling her face wet, wiping it when she hear the voices of the two-person returns.

Pulling the covers up to her neck wondering, 'What is the time and how long have they been looking for her? But as she lies silrntly she felt like the place gets a bit chilly. Closing her eyes hoping they won't come to the room, and just continue worrying just like what her family must be going through.'

Standing by her door feeling such relief that she was asleep, "She wasn't home a while ago and we have searched everywhere, so where has she been?"

Letting grandmother know her companion was on her bed then return home.

Entering the house, it was very quiet, 'It seems no one has returned from the trip as yet hoping they will be delayed.'

Hearing Oliver the cook saying, "Sir, will you like me to reheat your meal?"

"Oliver, I didn't know you were here, I thought I alone was home, but I will appreciate a strong cup of coffee thanks."

In his room, taking a shower, then went to his office to see to the mountain of paperwork. When the knock came and Oliver enters with his coffee, saying, "Thanks!" Rufus concentrate with the work at hand.

Holding the cup with both hands, sipping the hot liquid thinking, 'If I didn't have to go looking for her, by now half of the paperwork would have almost done.

But thank God, she is safe, I only hope she is not planning to run away, because there's no way except running around the Island.

And I don't think she could swim over forty miles much less across to the mainland.'

Resting the cup aside, whispering a prayer, "Lord, you see the sacrifice I make for this family, so I am asking You to please let there be disagreements, and complications with the choosing of a wife for Carlos.

And oh, they shouldn't find a compatible partner, so the marriage will be a delay, and please Lord, I hope Courtney conceived.

I also hope my timing for conception is now, because she being at Grandmother's house. I will not be able to get another opportunity.

And I already did wrong by her, so I ask for your forgiveness and please soothe her heart that we could at lease be friends for now."

With Mom and the others not due for another three days, Rufus, felt the heavy burden lifted from his shoulders.

Picking up another file from the top of the heap and started working. Almost through the pile when the sound of voices came, Rufus knew that's not possible, because he just prayed and needed that prayer to be heard immediately.
