ELSIE PRAYED FOR TAMARA

Hiding the cheque, Elsie whispers, "This is the fourth cheque I have receive from Courtney. I am sure she is okay, but if only I could see my child, Lord, I miss her so much."

Holding the walking stick trying to do some little exercise, "If I had listen to her when she used to say, "Mom, hold the rail and try to stand up, and try making a few footsteps, today I would be walking.

But I just keep saying I can't do it, now Tamara don't have any time with me, and most of the days she isn't home. I am just surprised she hasn't asked me for money in a while, but she continue coming home all sort of ungodly hours.

If she have any idea about these cheque, it will disappear into thin air. How could two children be so different?

Courtney love the Lord, and Tamara, God forbid me, but she is like the devil's child? Lord Jesus their Father was a good man and a wonderful Father, so why is it they turn out this way?

I thank You, because when I went to deposit the last cheque, I saw Kyle with a girl, and he seem very happy. I only hope my child is happy and when she comes to the Mainland she will visit me.

Lord, I ask that day comes soon, help me not to give up, and strengthen my back and foot to get better.

Lord, only Your healing will prevent me from getting the surgery, so heal me please and I will be heal.'

When the door open and Tamara said, "I am home Mom," seeing she sit on the chair, "Mom where are you, Mom since when you are walking?"

Seeing Tamara smiling, when she said "Mom this is wonderful." Elsie observes how she was looking at her, when she said, "Oh gosh Mom, I am starving."

"Tamara, honey, what happen to you?"

"Nothing Mom, we were just in an all-night party."

"Honey, you are wasting your life away."

'If I tells her I was working in a club the entire night, she might just give me a lecture and I am to tired for that now.

Replying to her, "I know Mom, but Courtney is the one to blame, she just snatch my life away."

"What foolishness you talking about?" 'Oh Lord, if I tells mom I am not strong like Courtney, she will just say it is only excuse I making, but I tried so many times to keep a job, and the club just have me working for three nights per week.

"Mom, I know that I am undisciplined and love to lime, but that is the only thing that makes me happy. When I think about the opportunity I had thrown away, what can I say?"

Closing her eyes wanting to say something to lift the heavy burden from mom but what can I say? "You don't understand Mom, the man Courtney married is the person I was going to married."

"That's not true, your sister would never do you that?"

"Well believe what you want, if only I was in the church on time, today I would be enjoying life at the fullest. Now I have to beg for a few dollars."

"Child, it is not too late to change the way you are living, the friends you call your friends is not your friends.

"I don't want a lecture Mom, I need a few dollars until weekend."

"I am sorry child, my cheque hasn't come in the mail yet."

"But Mom today is already the tenth of October."

"I know honey, but the last I heard there were a strike for raise of salary, so everything got delayed.

Neighbor Jenny call earlier to find out if I receive my cheque, saying she hasn't gotten hers, and said that light bill come, will you check the mail box please."

Watching her go, 'Thank God that child come early bringing my mails.'

"Mom, it only have this letter and bill, well I might as well go and take a bath and try and get some rest, no cheque, no money for me."

"Tamara honey, yesterday neighbor John daughter, was asking if I know anyone who will like to care for her dad, Honey, I know it might not be much salary, but it is work and it is near home."

"Mom that is wonderful news, I will talk to Johanna, if she say yes, then I will do it."

"You will?"

"Yes mom, you don't have to sound so surprise, I have been trying since Courtney got married, but nothing seems to be working in my favor.

Maybe this way I could be near home as you say, and mom I will start going to Church from Sunday?"

"That is wonderful news honey, but Tamara, I hope you know that you cannot leave John unattended, and Johanna will be depending on you to keep your eyes on him all the time."

"Mom, what you worry about, I have been helping out in a soup kitchen this last two months, but that is no pay.

I try working in two shoes store and a fabric store. but I keep making mistakes, but I am trying to change, trust me.

One of these good days I will get the right job, and I haven't been liming as you may think sometimes I work in a night club."

"Okay, now just be careful and who knows if you are trying to change your ways, God will help you."

"Thanks mom, just keep praying for me, that is all I am asking, I can't replace Courtney but I am trying to make a turn around in my life, so when she return to visit I could make her proud."

Looking at her as she walk to her room, "Lord, it's the first time Tamara is asking me to pray for her, I don't know if to believe her or not, but Lord if she is trying, please help her and continue to change her lifestyle.

She sound sincere and I know that Courtney will be proud of her, she never stop praying for her. Elsie wipes the tears thanking God for him blessing.
