COURTNEY DREAM RUFUS

The entire week had gone by and Rufus hasn't return, throwing in the last of the gas Friday afternoon, taking up the notes from under the gas container.

Thinking, 'We have been communicating this way for the passed two weeks, whispering a silent prayer, "Oh Lord, I only hope he is okay, no one knows I am his wife.

I don't have any document to prove that we are married, neither my documents to travel out of this Island.

I don't know where my purse is and I have no money, so please bring him back wherever he is."

Returning inside Courtney lock up early, doing as always every evening, bathing then changes and walk through the entire house, anointing the walls and doors.

She had the doors open during the day while she was awake, but today the place was extremely hot and nothing seems to keep it cool.

Sitting now near the window looking out, but she made sure it was locked, afraid to open it for some fresh air to blow in and cool the place down.

Reading the bible and praying but the sweat keeps running down her back. Feeling so frustrated Courtney felt like she had no zeal to do anything.

When her eyes lids started to burn and she felt a heaviness. "Lord, I need your help tonight, I am exhausted, I feel so drain and tired. Lord I need You to look over me."

Covering each door with the blood as she pray, then she continues to read once more, hoping it will keep her awake.

Although the light was on, having this urge to light the lantern, then holds the torchlight in her hand as she continue to pray. Hearing the rattling sound, Courtney, opens her eyes, seeing only the lantern lighting.

Thinking, 'The gas must have finish.'

Wanting to know who had came to the cottage. Courtney waited to hear footsteps, "Oh Lord, what is it? Has Rufus return and came with gas?"

As she continues to wait, hearing nothing anymore, she just thank the Lord for the extra rest she got. Afraid to go back to sleep she read Psalm 121 aloud, then 27.

Having this very discomforting feeling as though something was wrong. Courtney, continue praying, only to hear the crying began.

"So it was you that came lurking around the cottage?" Declaring out loud, "I am covered with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am a child of the King.

God has not given me a spirit of fear and I am not afraid of you, so from every direction you are coming from, the blood of Jesus has me covered, get out from around me and remain dormant for another century in Jesus's name."

As the crying vanishes, Courtney continue to read the bible and pray. When it was two-o-clock sleep overpowers her. Seeing Rufus on his knees praying and crying, "What is wrong, Rufus?"

"I am lost and cannot find my way home."

"Have you called on the name of Jesus to help you?"

"I did, but he is not hearing me."

'Then hold my hand and I will pray for you."

"Courtney, my sin is too much; Jesus will not hear me."

"Now you just listen to me, Jesus loves you very much."

Feeling his hand slipping out of her. "Don't let go of my hand Courtney?"

"I am not, it is you," calling out to him.

Sitting upright on the bed fully awake feeling his body trembling, Rufus whispers, "I am sure I heard Courtney calling out to me, has something happen to her?

Oh God if she need help how can I help her if I am so far away? Lord, please fix the plane; it has been five days already and I only came for one day."

Rufus knows that all his work is being kept back, and Courtney will need supplies and gas. "Lord, I can't leave her undone and with what she is going through, it is already stressful, I need to be home near her."

That Saturday morning after hearing the plane still didn't fix, Rufus decided to take the fairy the Sunday Morning because it was already full.

Going to the dock very early Sunday morning hoping to buy a ticket and get the first sail out. Being very disappointed hearing there was no ticket available.

Speaking to many of the passengers that was waiting to take the fairy home, only to hear the entire week the fairy was not working, and everyone wanted to return home.

Offering to pay double for their ticket but everyone wanted their seat and the fairy was already overbooked, and will have to return for a second trip the Sunday evening.

Finally giving up Sunday afternoon when they announced that the fairy was having a problem with the engine.

Rufus returning to the house, broken and frustrated, getting on his knees, "Lord, sometimes I feel as though my sins are too much, and it is blocking my prayer from being heard.

But I could sense my wife need me, so please Lord, help me to reach home and find that she is alright."

Feeling at that moment as if he was stifling inside the house, standing up Rufus take a stroll in the yard. looking in the direction towards the Island, not a cloud was moving.

Taking in some deep breaths, feeling a few droplets of rain falls on his head and hand. Looking above his head the clouds was dark grey.

Rufus wasn't aware that the tears were flowing, feeling this burning urge to see Courtney.

Recalling, 'It was the same driving force he had the evening for Carlos wedding, that keeps pushing him to go to her, and when he did find her she was almost out of her mind with fear.

Oh God, if only I was knowledgeable of this danger the women had to endure when a Dawson heir is to be born. Lord, I would have never gotten married.

After seeing the fear in Courtney eyes, and what we had to endure that night is unthinkable. Having a baby supposed to be a joyful experience.

Lord I am happy to know we are having babies, but she still have to endure seven months of danger. And from what Martha sad, every day she will have to endure a stronger force.'

Rufus felt like he was going out of his mind and he needed some solace.
