Zusammenfassung

Val Oswald, a cold-hearted and enigmatic prodigy, hides his intelligence to avoid attention. After a tragic accident takes a friend's life, he reluctantly becomes one of ten champions in a high-stakes war. Val's unique talents set him apart as he manipulates allies and enemies to further his own agenda. As he grapples with the consequences of his ruthless actions, the line between hero and villain blurs. Will Val's aversion to heroism lead to his downfall or propel him to ultimate power? In this tale of moral ambiguity, Val Oswald challenges conventional notions of heroism as a calculating anti-hero.

Feverish

An intertwining tale of love, loss, and redemption. Excerpt: Stalking into the night alone had been a very bad idea, and Sophia knew it immediately, especially in her soaked gown. She leaned against an oak near the home and pressed the back of her head to it, trying to calm her breathing. Thomas followed closely behind, watching her shivering form find shelter from the wind behind a large oak just out the house. Realizing Sophia had to be freezing, he pulled his jacket off, attempting to throw it around her, but she only smacked it down and pushed him away. Stunned to silence he fell on his rear to the ground, landing in a puddle and scraping his palms as he tried to catch himself. "What the Hell was that for?" Sophia only continued to glare at him, "I believe you know what that was for! I cannot believe you! Trying to humiliate me and separate me from everyone." Tears were threatening to spill over from her eyes. "Beyond that, to go and make a scene when your brother is just recovering! How dare you?" Here eyes began to squint, venom seeping into her words, "You always bully me you jerk, and if I ever did anything to upset you, I am woefully unaware! So why must you always be a-" She paused, puffing her cheeks a bit and biting back a sob, "A- a giant jerk!" "Don't you know a single creative insult?" Thomas hoisted himself up, pulling his jacket from the puddle. She threw her hands in the air as if to emphasize her point, "Such as now! You won't even apologize!" A sparkling drop fell from her eye, followed soon by more from each eye. She felt she was at an impasse, and simply wanted to be close to the family. Awkward silence filled the air as her arms went down, and she turned her head down to hide the tears that flowed now. Desperately wishing Maria would follow out, Sophia stayed still, hearing a loud splat noise as Thomas flung his jacket angrily. Why was he now mad at her? Did he not cause enough damage in the home?

The Philippines is one of the countries with significant problems when it comes to prison cells. There are many prisoners, but very few jails. The government also lacks the budget to construct new prisons, so the result is overcrowding of inmates in one cell. General Chief Eduardo Cabusao, one of the highest-ranking officials in the police force, is finding a way to resolve the significant issue faced by the country. He spread a severe disease among the prisoners, leading to the death of some inmates, with the help of an Indian doctor scientist named Bernard Sigh. This is a clandestine operation he conducted to somehow make the process look clean and polished. In the past two years, the dirty work has been successful, and many prisoners have died due to various disease outbreaks inside the prison. Their goal was to reduce the number of inmates with serious cases such as murder, who have long sentences in prison. However, this sickness is also treatable, and many have recovered through medication. Some government officials are unaware of these events, so they distributed medicines to treat the illnesses inside the prison. So, General Cabusao was extremely disappointed, and he immediately summoned Dr. Sigh to create a disease that is difficult to cure and has more severe effects on the prisoners." But the result was disastrous; can they still prevent the spread of this disease, which has resulted in the deaths of many prisoners and civilians?"

Interesting start. the first chapters were longer than I'm used to but we're interesting enough to keep me going. the character development is steady and the main character is always level-headed, which I find to be a rare trait in most protagonists. I loved the beginning(as the novel only had a few chapters at the time of writing this review) and will definitely keep an eye on this. Keep up the good work, Author. I'd love to see how this story goes. Something tells me it's going to be very interesting. The magic and mysteries just left me wanting more 🤧
