Chapter 4: Hidden Truth

3 days after the terrible new year tragedy in Hon sanctuary.

The Hon sanctuary and its people are recovering from the tragedy.

In the press conference room of the Hon central tower.

All press from multiple news media are mumbling and preparing their device for the press conference of Hon sanctuary officials when suddenly the doors open and a figure from Hon sanctuary official's representative enters the room.

All camera light turns red and recoding, flashing light and camera shutter heard all over the room.

And when the Hon sanctuary representative reach the podium and starting his speech, all the press become more restless.

"3 days ago, the Hon sanctuary facing an unfortunate incident, where almost millions of terrans life in Hon sanctuary died by terran greatest enemy, the nightmares, the incident might be something that we might overlook, but thanks to the response of the HDF we manage to prevent much worse result, and as someone who oversee the Hon sanctuary, I feel terrible sorry for the loss of not just wealth, but the precious lives of our beloved terrans in Hon sanctuary. Although we could not bring back the lost ones, we the Hon sanctuary would greatly compensate the best that we can for the loss of the victims of this incident, once again I represent the Hon sanctuary official would say sorry for your loss in this unforeseen incident" said the Hon sanctuary representative as he bow down in front of public watched by people not just on Hon sanctuary but the whole Terra.

After the speech, reporter start to raise their hands for a chance to asking their questions to the representative, and one of the press who got the chance asked "sir, did the new year tragedy really such unforeseen and unfortunate incident, or it is something else for example an error from the Hon sanctuary system where it failed to prevent the nightfall?" a sharp and to the point question by the press from Terran Public Media (TPM)

"the new year tragedy is purely from the sudden nightfall that we could not foreseen, as the incident took place at night time, there is no way we can indicate the "dusk" phenomenon since the sky is already dark, but for the nightfall still manage to fall inside the sanctuary is a mystery that our expert trying to investigate further" answer the representative

"but sir shouldn't the Hon's sanctuary system should be preventing any nightfall to land inside the sanctuary?" a follow up question by the press

"as I said again it is still a mystery that are currently being investigated, next question please" after that the series of questions from the press one by one answered by Hon representative.

Meanwhile in the underground level of Hon central tower, on the strategy meeting room, the heathen debate is taking place between the experts and chiefs of Hon sanctuary who are involved in the investigation, "for the last time, it should be impossible for the sanctuary system to be failed warding off the nightfall from falling into the sanctuary, it must be something else that make those core spawn appear inside the sanctuary" said chief Rohan, the chief engineer of Hon sanctuary system overseer.

"he is right, not to mention that at the night of the incident, the concentration of the dark haze particle in the sky is not beyond the threshold point, it probably not the nightfall that suddenly dropping the core spawn, or it probably a new pattern of the nightfall" professor Putri the Hon sanctuary expert of nightmares study stating her opinion.

"but if it is not the natural nightfall phenomenon, then what could make those core spawn appear inside Hon sanctuary?" asked chief Wu the Hon sanctuary chief of R&D.

"in the first place, nightfall is not something that is natural in Terra, it was some mysterious phenomenon out of this world that suddenly happening in Terra 10 years ago. It was something unnatural, at least from this world perspective, and don't forget that nightfall and even the spawn of nightmares from the core spawn is only possible with the dark haze particle that is the source of the nightmares" said professor Putri.

"then the only answer is, something of this world artificially making or forcefully bring those core spawn appear inside the sanctuary out of nowhere and spawning those nightmares at the night of the incident" said general Miyamoto, Hon sanctuary chief of defense.

"most likely so" professor Putri response.

"then the question is change from what to who did these despicable act against whole terrans, whoever they are, they must pay for what they did to the terrans in my Hon sanctuary" said Mr. Diwa, the high overseer of Hon sanctuary with anger in his tone.

"find out these people who make the core spawn appear inside the sanctuary, and hide the fact from the public of the possibility that the new year tragedy is caused by these people in question, we don't want any unnecessary worry from the people about these matter, it could cause mass panic and paranoia among the public" said the high overseer

"yes sir" everyone in the room response simultaneously and the meeting adjourned.

In the hallway professor Putri and general Miyamoto is discussing about the possibility of the people who could bring core spawn without triggering nightfall phenomena and how they could do it.

"as I said earlier at the beginning of the meeting, the dark haze particles came from outside our world, outside the atmosphere. That is why nightfall phenomenon happen in the sky making the dusk and dropping the core spawn to Terra surface, but the sanctuary system would disperse the dark haze particle in the sky and deflect any falling core spawn to fall outside the sanctuary, so for the core spawn to appear suddenly inside the sanctuary without any nightfall from the sky. Then for these people in question, they somehow bring the dark haze particle inside the sanctuary, but dark haze particle cannot be contained, or these people probably have the technology to contained it" professor Putri hypothesized the reason behind the appearance of core spawn inside the sanctuary

"so if we want to find these people we need to trace the dark haze particle inside the sanctuary?" said general Miyamoto, and professor Putri reply "hypothetically yes, but it easier to say than done, since the concentration of dark haze at certain low level would instantly dispersed inside the sanctuary, so if we want to find any trace of it, it should be from the outside of the sanctuary"

"then our first place to look at is the outer ghetto then" said general Miyamoto.

"precisely" professor Putri response.

"then I shall create a team to investigate the outer ghetto and ask chief Wu to prepare the gadget to find the trace of dark haze particle" said general Miyamoto.

After the serious talk general Miyamoto drop the formality and talking casually with Putri "So Putri, how is professor Tulus doing, for you to be the one to take part in the meeting instead himself?" ask general Miyamoto, "he is doing fine, but he is in the middle of critical breakthrough, so he put everything into his research and put aside anything that could separate him from his research, he won't even go out to the toilet and waste a second away from his research" said Putri

"ugh… Putri, spare me the detailed part" general Miyamoto show slighty disgusted face.

General Miyamoto and Putri's father, professor Tulus, are a good colleague who once work together in the frontline at the early establishment of sanctuary system for Hon region 10 years ago, since then they become sworn brothers bonded by the camaraderie, and since general Miyamoto don't have a daughter, he treat Putri as if she is his own daughter and become Putri's godfather.

"So Tulus is almost there huh… good to know, I wish he could complete his research soon and help the terrans eradicating the nightmares from it source for good, so Putri for the investigation of tracing the dark haze particle, since you replacing your father, then I might trouble you in the meantime" said general Miyamoto.

"yes sir, you can count on me!" Putri quickly respond with enthusiasm.

"hahaha, I'll be in your care then" said general Miyamoto with smile from Putri enthusiasm.
