Chapter Two

Ares woke up the next morning to loud noises of the city bell and without being told she knows that it was five in the morning, she groaned as she sat up from her bed, to start her daily routine which was boring as hell and also stressful, she didn't notice the pair of eyes staring at her till she sat up fully on the bed.

"It's inappropriate to stare at someone that way! She said looking over at Jesse "I have to talk to you" Ares groan for the second time and laid back on the bed, she wasn't ready for any of this "What is it this time? She asked while looking up at the shabby celling "It's about being kicked out from your shift, that shit is super annoying" "Is not my fault, okay? "Of course, it is, you know Madam Dinah hates for you to talk back or disrespect the customer, you should stop doing any of that!

"I only rolled my eyes on that old man and nothing else and if you want me to shut my mouth and keep my mouth shut while scolding me for no reason then I'm sorry I wouldn't be able to do that" "You're making my life difficult if you continue this way, I have to work mine and yours and at the end of the day I'll still be paid a token! He was angry and Ares could very much hear it in his voice, she only sighed and shut her eyes for some moment.

"Please don't get angry, I'm just telling you how hard it had been for me anytime you get kicked out from your shift, it's terrible" Of course, Jesse knew how bad it was for her to get angry, she was always uncontrollable and does things out of anger! Half of the chairs and table upstairs had already been broken so many times because of her anger issues and she had always repaired and paid for them through her daily income.

Which made it worst and unbearable for her because she had to beg Jesse for half of his earnings to get some basic things she needs since her earnings had been taken away from her to repair the broken things she spoilt in anger, she couldn't do any additional work because Dinah wouldn't allow her, it was more like Dinah had bought him off from a stranger when she was Ten and now she has to work for Dinah and also pay her back plus two of the amount she was bought and after paying her back it was left for her to decide either to go out and look for her means of earning or continue working for her.

And for the past eight years that she had been here, she had been paying the little as she can by allowing Dinah to divide half of her earnings every day or month depending on how you choose to be paid but if she continue getting kicked out from shifts and paying for some broken furniture with earning, she was sure to grow old while working for her.

And even through the years, she hasn't paid half of the money she was owing Dinah and Ares thinks she enjoys it…having her on the job while kicking her out of the shift on every little opportunity she gets, Dinah didn't want her to pay her and leave… that's why she had to continue giving her this same punishment as always and also the same goes for Jesse, he was also bought by Dinah from his father when he was Twelve and had stayed her for eight years, what a terrible experience and since then Jesse had hates talking about his family and she had respected his decision and never brought it up on any condition.

Jesse's condition was much better than hers because he had succeeded in paying half of his money while she was still struggling to pay hers…how long was this going to continue, she was tired of all of it "I'm going to leave" She said finally without looking at him, knowing what he might think "You have tried that a dozen time and still got caught each time you did, so quit that thinking that way"

"Then, you suggest and stay here and doing what? She sat up and stared at him wearing his usual old black pant and white shirt which has turned brown "I suggest you stay here and pay Dinah all her money, then you could have the freedom you want to travel all the places you want, you could even find your parent" Ares swallowed hard as she heard him mentioned that, that had been her plan all along and also the reason she had tried running away all these years but had never succeeded in doing so, she was either caught on an inn, bar, even on the upper city.

"And how long did you think that would take, I might even spend the rest of my life here trying to pay up all my bills" "Then you'll know that you're free instead of running away and looking at your back every minute for chaser sent by Dinah because she'll never stop chasing you no matter how far you run and you've never succeeded in each of your twelve attempts and on top of that your salary and earning is always deducted then tell me how you'll be able to pay up all your bills if you continue this way!

"Maybe when I find my family, they'll be able to pay up the bills for me" "And what if it was your family that gave you up, what if it was your parent or any of your siblings? What if you have no family? What then will you do? Ares fought hard not to think about any of what he was saying, she knows she might be saying the truth but she doesn't have any time to think about any of that.

"You've always heard Dinah mention that I have relatives at Hill wood, right? So that must be something! "She only made mention of that whenever she was angry either saying that she wish your relative at Hill wood would take you back and refund her money back or that she would send your dead body back to Hill wood! But that's nothing, she might not even know what she's saying" "Of course she does, I might find answers there and I once found a paper that has a clear transaction on how much she bought me and where the transaction was made…which was Hill wood!
