Leah asked him with a slightly confused look in her eyes as she tried to pull away from him, but her struggles were completely useless. "Challenge me, so that I get excited," Lucius said as he continued to rub his nose on her nape, slowly savouring her scent like it was sweetest thing he had ever perceived. Some old friends

The room was elegantly furnished with plush armchairs, a polished wooden table, and a small bar in the corner. The large windows offered a stunning view of the city skyline, twinkling like a sea of stars in the night.

"What is so important that you had to tell us in person instead of sending one of your minions?" Lucius asked, his voice resonating with authority.

"I am really glad you came. I wasn't excepting you to honour my invitation, especially after what happened the last time we met" Priscilla said, her voice coming out low.

"Oh, I was actually tricked into coming here," Lucius said, sending a small glare at Alexander before turning back to face Priscilla.

"Are you referring to the time when I tired to kill you and you barely managed to escape." He said, his words sounding more like a statement than a question, causing her body to stiffen.

"No worries, I've forgotten about that incidence a long time ago... You know how much I hate keeping grudges. It's not healthy." He said, a wicked smirk appearing on his face.

"Priscilla." Alexander called, drawing her attention from Lucius who seemed to be enjoying the tensed look in her eyes. "What did you find?" He asked, his voice calming her stiff shoulders.

"I've found her," Priscilla replied, her words measured and precise. "She's currently staying in a small town, and she's alone."

Lucius raised an eyebrow, intrigued, but yet, surprised by the news. "Are you sure?"

Priscilla nodded, her expression serious. "I'm sure. I double-checked. It's definitely her."

"We will pay her a visit then. What do you think?" Lucius asked, turning to Alex.

Alexander nodded. "You're right. We can go there tomorrow. I'm sure she misses us," Alex said with a smirk.

"Good. The earlier the better," Lucius said, his lips curling into a dangerous smile. "It's been a while since we last saw her. I'm sure she'll be thrilled to see us."

"Priscilla, you may excuse us if that is all." Alexander said, his eyes gauging her facial expression.

"Of course." she said bowing slightly before taking her leave, leaving the room with only the two men inside the room.

"I think we can trust her." Alexander said, his eyes still fixed on the door.

"For this particular matter, yes, because she hates the woman in question, but I don't think I can trust her with other matters, not after what she did that night. She looked... Different just now." Lucius said, his jaw clenching.

"Your right. Her behaviour had me wondering if perhaps, she changed without our notice." Alexander said, his brows cringed in deep thought.

"Look into this matter," Lucius said walking towards the door. Alexander nodded standing on the same spot, his brows still furrowed in deep thought.

Lucius stopped on his tracks when he opened the door. Looking over his shoulders. "Don't let your emotions get in the way this time." He added before leaving the room and Alexander to his thoughts.

After a few minutes, Alexanders' expression was finally calm and relaxed, before he casually left the room, leaving it empty as it was before.

Back in the ball room. Leah's mind felt disorientated. She felt a little tipsy and even though she had only drank a single glass of the cocktail, which made her wonder if she had suddenly become light headed or the bar tender had mixed something else in her drink other than the usual ingredients used.

Leah lightly shook her head trying to calm the effect of the alcohol on her. But it didn't seem to work, so she headed for the rest room, taking calculated steps as she moved.

All of Leahs' attention were focused on the ground as she to moved without noticing the man who stood in front of her. She crashed into someone's hard chest and almost lost her balance, but his hands were quick to shot out towards her waist.

He caught her by her waist steadying her in his arms. Her eyes flew wide in shock not because she almost fell on her butt, but because the man who had just caught her was so fucking handsome.

He was the definition of perfection. His blue eyes, his nose, jaw... in fact everything about his face was just so... He looked like a god of perfection and beauty and he smelled divine and... heavenly. "Are you okay." The deep masculine voice jolted her out of her thoughts.

"Um... Yes." She stuttered, gently pulling herself from his arms. "I'm really sorry." She apologized, her face turning red in embarrassment.

'That drink is really working in my head' she thought to herself.

Leah bowed apologetically before heading towards the rest room again.

'What did that bar tender mix in her drink? Was it something new?' she thought to herself.

Lucius stared at the young woman's until she finally disappeared from his sight. Bringing up his palm that had held her a few seconds ago, he felt the texture before bringing it up to his nose to take a sniff. He shut his eyes, enjoying the delicious scent she had left on his hands. Lucius eyes shot open, staring at the direction where she had disappeared from.

"Lucius! Is that really you?" A familiar female voice called from behind him. Causing him to slowly turn around to face the owner of the voice

"Maria, fancy seeing you here," Lucius said, his expression already turning cold.

Maria had been standing alone in the crowded ballroom, since the man she had been dancing with had already left after receiving a call a while ago, and Mr Linton and Selene seemed to be bubbled up in their own world as they danced__ a dance which was not coming to an end.

She was looking at the crowd for a particular face she had not seen for some minutes. When suddenly, she spotted Lucius and had excitedly made her way over to him, eager to strike up a conversation.

"Oh my! it's been a really long." she exclaimed, smiling brightly. "It's so good to see you!"

Lucius stared at her, his expression cold and distant. "I can only imagine how much you must have missed me," he said curtly. "And Alex of course."

"I did. I even tried to find you two..." Her voice trailed. "But it felt like you guys had suddenly disappeared into thin air." Maria said with a pensive expression.

"Is that so?" Lucius asked, slightly amused that she had tired to find his and Alexander's whereabouts.

"Is he here?" Maria asked expectantly, her eyes moving to scan the crowd around them.

"Who?" Lucius asked, pretending not to know who she was referring to.

"Alexander. Is he here with you?" Maria asked again.

"Maybe." Lucius said, not clearly saying if it was a yes or no.

"Oh." Maria said, her voice sounding disappointed.

Undeterred, Maria launched into another conversation, inquiring about Lucius' own wellbeing, but he showed little interest in her questions, giving her short, dismissive answers.

Feeling awkward and unwanted, Maria decided to ask Lucius for a dance. But he rudely rejected her, a wicked smirk on his face. "I'm afraid I have no interest in dancing with you, Maria. You can find someone else to dance with. I'm sure there are many men here who would love to dance with you." he said icily.

Hearing this, Maria's face instantly fell. She had always known that Lucius was rude and raw with his words but she wasn't expecting him to speak this harshly to her. She nodded feeling embarrassed. "I... um... Okay. Please do send my regards to Alexander." She said, faltering with her words.

Just as she turned to leave, Alexander appeared before her. "Alexander!" She exclaimed happily.

"May I have this dance?" he asked, offering his hand with a warm smile that brightened Maria's face.

Alexander passed Lucius a meaningful look before leaving with Maria. As they walked to the dance floor, Lucius watched them with a significant look in his eyes before heading towards the restroom.
