"What the hell was that?!" Detective Kesley questioned Catherine furiously.

"Relax Detective, that was part of my job, so she's not going to die." Catherine assured him, nonchalantly smoking her cigar.

"Were you supposed to stick that into her neck?" Detective Kesley asked her, boring holes at the side of her face.

"Was I supposed to leave her awake and sane, to rant us out?" Catherine countered.

"Was there no other and better way? I cannot have her death on my conscience!" Detective Kesley exclaimed.

"What conscience? Like you haven't killed people before?" Catherine mocked, then took more puffs from her cigar.

Detective Kesley took a deep breath, exhaled noisily, then faced the uncaring woman;

"Look, I appreciate everything you are doing for the progress of the cases I am working on, but I do not want to leave a trail of dead bodies.

"Let's minimize the casualties, okay?" He pleaded.

For answer, Catherine just smiled.
