Chapter 8: First Time in the Dungeon

Noctis after having his meeting with Loki started to make his way towards the dungeon. He was not sure on how low he would get but he was planning to at least be there for the whole day.

Noctis was super thrilled before him right now was the very start to his first dungeon dive. He was looking forward to being in a battle again the very idea made him giddy. He was definitely going to go as low as he could until he received a challenge.

Noctis smiled and thought 'Steve did say I should be able to level up at a fast rate. After all I was extremely powerful before this world. Hopefully it's fast enough for me to be on the advance group level for the expedition.'

Noctis started to make his first steps down to the first floor the very start. Noctis had the maps of the first 18 floors in his inventory thanks to Loki. The last thing Loki needed was her new potential star member to be lost.

Noctis was making his way down the floors he was getting some weird looks from other adventurers. However everyone was too busy with the dungeon to really care. Noctis finally found a part of the dungeon on the first floor with no one around.

In front of Noctis was a group of ten goblins making there way towards him. Noctis decided to take this seriously. It was his first time down here and he did not want to get caught off guard. Noctis cut his hands with his own nails allowing blood to flow out. Noctis used his magic skills to form the blood into the gauntlets he likes to fight with from his last life.

Noctis looked at the gauntlets they were exactly the same but Noctis could tell they were much weaker then they should have been. Noctis sighed "Level one problems I suppose."

Noctis then started to run towards the first goblin who was leading the charge. Before the goblin could even put up a fight Noctis punched the goblin as hard as he could at the head.

This caused the head of the goblin to explode. Noctis not missing a beat still having his thousands of years of experience in combat was already preparing his next move. He swiped his hand horizontally across the blood not touching it however using his magic to move it.

With the swipe the goblin blood that was present turned into jagged projectiles and launched towards the remaining nine goblins that were in the background. All them fell over turning into dust. Noctis saw the small crystals drop on the ground and put each one into his storage space a mere start to his time in the dungeon.

The next monster ran into was a Kobold. Dog like creatures with razor sharp claws and what appeared like armor around their bodies. Noctis knew they would be dangerous in large pack but the ten before him wasn't going to be a problem.

They charged at him first. One jumping with the intent to knock Noctis over and then bite his face off. Noctis however horizontally swiped his hand across the body of the unlucky kobold as it then launched to the nearest wall embedding into it.

Noctis started to make short work of the Kobolds as well they didn't put up much of a fight.

This was how the next four floors went for Noctis not much of a challenge but he did not mind taking the crystals as he needed to start getting money from somewhere. He killed everything in his way and would pick up and store whatever drops.

He even ran into some dungeon lizards but like the Kobold and goblins they were no real threat. Noctis started to grow bored. He was ready for more of a challenge. He was getting somewhat tired just because of the number of enemies he has killed already but it wasn't pushing him.

He then eventually got to the sixth floor but unlike floors one through five he did not encounter hoards of enemies right away. Noctis knowing something was off he quickly side stepped. A large tongue with an end the size of a bowling ball slammed into the wall he was just by. He saw it head back to a frog like creature. Noctis knowing this was the Frog Shooter that would kill many adventures started to take It a little more serious.

Noctis side stepped again to avoid another strike he then grabbed onto the tongue before it could retract and used the claw like gauntlets to sever the tongue from the rest of the body. Noctis could here the Frog Shooter cry in pain but before it could do anything else it started to turn to dust as Noctis punched straight through it hitting the crystal.

Noctis then really felt like he was about to die and jumped out of the way. He was then sliced along his leg. Noctis looked at what had caused this and it seemed to be a dark tall shadowy figure a war shadow. Four of them to be exact.

Noctis then looked at his leg which was bleeding a lot. Where many adventurers would be worried or freaking Noctis had a different approach.

If anyone else was to look at him now they would be horrified. He had a wide euphoric grin on his face after taking his first real damage coming to this world. He screamed out "Finally!!"

His Kings Aura leaking out of him. It was not strong enough to subdue the monsters it just felt like added weight. He then launched himself at the War Shadow that injured him. The War Shadow not being incredibly slow used it's sword like arm to swing down on Noctis.

Noctis caught it with one arm and swung with as much strength as he could with the other completely crushing the crystal inside the war shadow causing it to turn to dust.

The other three war shadows did not just stand by and watch. All three attack at the same time as this was happening. He got stabbed in both thighs and in the side of his gut. All three pulled back causing a lot of blood to start leaking out of Noctis as the weapon like arms came out of his body. Noctis started to focus more as he realized this was more dangerous then he thought. He used his own blood to form into spikes hardening and launched them at the war shadows killing all three as they turned to dust.

Since Noctis was not far off from the entrance of the floor he decided to sit at the stairs and heal. He took a potion out of his storage and drank it.

Before entering the dungeon Noctis had bought ten potions and five mana potions making him broke but he wanted to make sure if he was caught in a bad way he would at least have a chance.

Noctis watched as his wounds healed quickly from the potion. He stretched a bit as the wounds were healed. He was starting to get hungry as well. He had ate at the cafeteria before he left but he figured it might already be night by now as he took the time to kill every monster in his way.

Noctis then decided that was enough for today. He just wanted to test what he could do. Tomorrow he would go even deeper as he would rush through the first five floors faster.

He quickly made his way back up the floors. Skipping the monsters completely not wanting to spend time on them. When Noctis finally made it out the dungeon he was correct on the assumption it was already night.

He ran the rest of the way to Twilight Manor and started to knock on Loki's door.

Loki from the other end said "Come in."

Loki looked up from her desk to see Noctis "What do you want?"

Noctis smiled "I was wondering if you could update my status."

Loki sighed "Kid you know it was your first day in the dungeon your stats could not have gone up that much."

Noctis nodded "I know but I just want to have a baseline to see how much they grew."

Loki sighed again "Fine but just so you know this is a special case most of my children have to wait months."
