Chapter 27: The meeting

In the room where the Gods usually host the Denatus was where the meeting was taking place. This only involved the highest level of Gods and Goddesses. Right now in the room were Loki, Hephaestus, Freya, Ishtar, Apollo, and Hermes. With them were their top-ranking adventurers. With Loki currently was just Riveria, Finn, and Noctis.

With Hephaestus was just Tsubaki. Tsubaki was a half-dwarf. Tsubaki has brown skin, long black hair, red eyes, and wears an eyepatch over her left eye. Noctis looked over Tsubaki thinking she was rather cute. He then felt strange energy and saw Marin smiling at him. Noctis shrugged and kept looking at Tsubaki. Thinking 'Maybe she can make me the weapons I want.

With Freya were Ottar and Marin. Ottar is a tall and heavily muscular Boaz with rust-like hair and eyes along with a pair of boar ears. Noctis looked over at Ottar and was indifferent. It was his first time laying eyes on him in person. Noctis noticed his presence immediately but he was not scared of him as others were in this room.

With Ishtar was Phyrne Jamil the captain of her Familia. Noctis looked her over and could only think one thing 'Ugly hag.' She was incredibly overweight and had a frog-like face.

With Apollo was Hyakinthos Clio. Noctis looked him over and could not help but wonder why Apollo was so arrogant with such a weakling as his captain.

Then lastly was Hermes with Asfi Al Andromeda. Noctis looked at them and then looked around wondering why there were so many people. In Noctis's mind, it should just be handled between Freya and Loki. Why are so many people involved?

Before the meeting, Loki had told him that only the Gods and Goddesses will talk and he should only speak when spoken to."

Loki opened "Okay so we are all here because of Noctis and Marin. The two of them want to be in a relationship. I understand people's concerns about this I have my own concerns as well. But I think it will not be a problem."

Ishtar who looks very similar to Tione or Tiona and thought 'Those two killed twenty of my Familia. While they did not really matter I can not let it slide.'

Ishtar then said "I think this a clear front for some kind of partnership between the Loki and Freya Familias. This can not happen. Did we forget what happened when Zeus and Hera Familias teamed up? They took control of Orario."

Apollo smirked "I'm of the same mindset. This will not be allowed."

Noctis was showing no emotion figuring this was some sort of farce. Marin however was getting visibly upset. She did not want to have to obey any of them. Freya stared down at Marin to get her to calm down. Hermes was being quiet trying to read the situation.

Freya then snapped "There is no reason to fear this. I'm still number one around here and have no reason to join with Loki. Marin can do what she wants. Although I believe I might have a similar concern to Loki."

Hephaestus sighed "What would that concern be?"

Loki narrowed her eyes "I believe that is something that should be discussed between Freya and I with our two children."

Hermes then spoke up "I believe we should know what your concerns are. That's what this whole meeting is about right?"

Freya then said, "We'll my concern is that Marin will prioritize Noctis in the dungeon over her own Familia."

Loki nodded "Mine as well."

Ishtar smirked "See there are many reasons why that boy and slut…."

Before she could finish Noctis was already holding her chin with a pair of blood gauntlets. He then lightly scrapped one of the sharp fingers across her face drawing blood. She quickly looked for her captain Phyrne. But when she looked Phyrne was embedded into the wall slowly getting out. She turned back to Noctis whose eyes looked like a bright red and saw an evil smile showing off his large canine-like teeth. Noctis then licked the blood from her off his gauntlet.

Noctis's smile grew wider "You better watch what you say bitch before I level your whole red-light district."

Noctis let her go as he knew better than to just kill a Goddess unprepared. This whole time Noctis had his Kings Aura out but only on Ishtar and Phyrne. He released it and turned around with a neutral expression. He then looked at Freya who watched the whole incident. He started to look into her soul as she looked into his as well. Freya got a little upset but knew what Noctis meant by this look. He knew about Syr. Marin had already informed her that he probably knew but this confirmed it. For the time being, she would have to be on Noctis's side until they had a conversation. Freya was happy though she always disliked Ishtar who would always try to take her spot as the most beautiful Goddess.

Freya figured Noctis could not be too bad. Loki however pinched the bridge of her nose. Not like she was worried but she had hoped to avoid something like this. Loki was slowly figuring out what Noctis was like. She was worried that he might replace her headache with someone else.

Hermes was also upset not because of Noctis or what he did. But it was clear that Noctis was not the hero he has been looking for.

Hephaestus was trying to hold back a laugh as she thought about the trouble Loki will probably have to deal with later on. She then thought 'Loki did say he had an interesting weapon idea maybe I should ask him about it.'

Apollo was laughing out loud he loves to see other Gods and Goddesses put down. He believed he was the most superior. So he found this sort of thing amusing.

Finn was also upset, he could have stopped Noctis but he did not think Noctis would go so far. Ishtar was extremely angry as was the frog face Phyrne. But there was nothing Ishtar could do. She could not simply go to war with the Loki Familia. She would need to scheme a plan. She bit her lip drawing blood but did not say a word.

Noctis got back to Loki's side with a devil-like smile, happy with what he had done. Marin had a bright smile if Noctis had not done it she would have.

Hephaestus then gave out a large audible sigh "I am tired of this. Let them do what they want. This meeting is a waste of time. In fact, anyone who tried to prolong it will not be able to purchase wares from my Familia for a year."

There was dead silence as everyone started to sweat. Hephaestus smiled "Good then I will now leave."

Hephaestus looked towards Noctis "Come to my office when you get the chance I want to hear your weapon ideas."

Noctis gave a wry smile as everyone started to leave. Ishtar and Phyrne gave him dirty looks as they left but everyone left in a hurry not wanting to anger Hephaestus. Now in the room was just Loki and Freya with Noctis and Marin. Finn, Riveria, and Ottar were waiting outside the meeting room.

Ottar was very hesitant and had to be ordered by Freya to leave but he still left all the same. Freya then said, "So we need both your assurances that you will aide our Familia before each other."

Noctis kept a neutral face "I can not do that."

Marin shook her head "Neither can I."

Loki was annoyed "This is a big problem for both our Familias we need to know if you guys go on expeditions that you can be trustworthy."

Noctis sighed "Well I can promise that in this situation I would not do anything to endanger my Familia."

Marin nodded along as Noctis continued "As far as I'm concerned it is fine plus what would be wrong if our Familia teamed up every once in a while."

Loki sighed "We could not team up anyways. There are other forces in this world besides the dungeon. Whenever our Familia gets to do an expedition Freya and her Familia need to stay on the surface just in case of an outside attack. The flip also happens."

Freya then said "Like I said I have no problem with you two together. But I want my Familia to be safe."

Freya got up and slowly walked up to Noctis "Come on Noctis can't you do that for me?"

Noctis looked at Freya with bored eyes he then looked at Marin and pointed to Freya "Does she always try to close deals like this?"

Marin nodded as she pinched the bridge of her nose "It always works too."

Noctis looked back over to Freya as he flicked one of his vampire's teeth "Loki I'm thirsty let's just go. I'm out of blood pacts."

Loki hit Noctis over the head "Why are you letting her know you are a vampire."

Noctis sighed "Well you just told her outright plus Marin is one anyways."

Loki was so shocked by Noctis that she did not even realize the slip of tongue she had "Oh Marin is one too huh? Freya, how do you keep up with the amount of blood pacts?"

Freya smiled "Wouldn't you like to know the secret."

Noctis started to drag Loki a bit "Come on Loki let's go maybe you can ask Freya at the Hostess of Fertility later."

Noctis and Loki then left the room. Freya then sighed "So he does know."

Marin nodded "I figured told you we are similar. Imagine when I wanted to kill him and then you would not have to deal with all this."

Marin then stared at his soul through the door "Too late for that option now though. I would protect him if you tried."

Freya and Marin then stared at each other in silence.
