Chapter 18: I feel the mate bond

Celeste POV

I jolt awake, I can feel that I am laying down in a bed. I look around, I am back in the packhouse. Relief fills every cell in my body.

I lift myself, thankfully I don’t feel any pain. The smell of sandalwood is all over me, I hear a voice inside of me. This must be my wolf. I’ve heard her before, but this time I can feel and hear her clear as day.

I can feel her excitement, she is saying the word mate repeatedly. I feel a sense of need rush over me. I want to see Zayden. I leave my room and I follow his scent.

I don’t realize someone is following me until I hear them telling me to stop. Out of reflex, I grab his arm and throw him over my shoulder. Without looking back, I follow Zayden’s scent to his study; I don’t even bother to knock. I open the door and spot Oliver in the room as well.
