Mel sat casually on the single sofa at her house. In front of her, Anna was lying down on the oversized couch, her eyes closed.

With curiosity, she asked, "Tell me, why are you suddenly looking for me?"

Anna opened her eyes, slowly got up, and sat down facing Mel. "Nothing! I just miss you." She said casually.

Mel laughed softly.

"Sister... you know can't lie to me, right? I know you too well," Mel's chuckled. "You wouldn't be looking for me if nothing or no one is bothering you. Just spit it out...!" She also knew Anna well, knew that she could never keep something secret in her heart. She would want to tell it to her. So she would look for her.

Anna didn't answer. But it was apparent that something is bothering her badly.

Mel waited patiently while looking at the computer screen in her lap, reading the progress of the Tanner Entertainment scandal. Andy Tanner scandal, still trending on all social media platforms after his indecent video went viral. 'Let's see what statement they make!?'

"It's about James..."

Mel slowly raised her head to see Anna. "What about James? Wait, it's James the First Corp CEO, right?" It's just to make sure. Because there are undoubtedly many James out there, Mel's chucked to herself.

Anna nodded slowly.

Mel then remembered a handsome man Anna had a crush on when they were at the W Group New Year's Eve party. "What's wrong? Did he confess his love to you, and you're not ready for it?" she asked curiously but also jokingly.

Anna exhaled again. "No, not that. He didn't call me!"

Mel was speechless. She thought there was something important that made her friend became depressed like now. And what do you know, it's just a matter of her crush not contacting her. Gee people. But then Mel realizes how selfish her thought was.

She then controlled her emotions and said, "Anna, let's think positively, shall we? Maybe he lost your business card, so he can't contact you." That was the most elegant answer she could come up with without ridicule her dear friend.

Honestly, for love problems like this, she never takes herself as an expert. For almost 22 years, she has lived, only once, she felt so happy to see the opposite sex. And, until today, she does not know the name of that person. She didn't think much about it anyway or romance in general. She was too lazy to think about it and sometimes consider it as a waste of time.

Suddenly Anna's eyes began to glow with life. "Mel, you're right; he will contact me!"

Wait, what? Where is that coming from? Did I just say something that re-motivates her? Mel's thinking in surprise.

Mel could only nod. While in her mind, she was pretty sure James had thrown away Anna's business card. She wanted to laugh at this fact, but she also felt sorry for Anna.

"YES! I have to think positively. I know one day I will be able to stand beside him, be his lover!!" Anna said with her eyes sparkling in excitement.

Seeing Anna's spirit recover, Mel could only smile gladly. She knows her best friend is always excited and enthusiastic when it comes to what she wants. Since childhood, Anna's parents taught Anna to be tough, despite her cheerful personality.

Her parents have directed her to become a lawyer. This certainly because most of her family are involved in law-related fields. Her family owns the number one law firm in the country and a few smaller ones. And Anna's family expects her to continue the family tradition, to become a reliable lawyer.

Being a lawyer is fit for Anna. She likes to talk, and when she argues, she wants to win; she has often won an argument against more senior lawyers. She's also is talented at diplomacy.

Anna is pretty and has a top model-like posture. She has always been at the center of attention; even by just standing still, she's like a goddess. But, although Anna looks perfect, Anna has weaknesses. She falls in love too quickly.

Many men were after her. And if the man fits her criteria of her ideal guy, she immediately falls in love. Mel can't even remember how many boys have become her lover and never recalls any of her boyfriend's names. Probably because Anna's romantic relationship mostly only lasted for three months. After that, she would introduce Mel to her new boyfriend. After a while, Mel was too lazy to remember their names.

However, this time something was different. Now Anna is chasing James, not the other way around. "What's this? Is she cured?" Mel could only ask herself.

Mel came back from her thoughts when she heard Anna said, "Let's forget about James! Now let's talk about something else."

Mel slowly nodded in agreement with her.

Anna sat up straight, her eyes sparkling; she said in her low voice, "Mel, do you know there's a very HOT gossip in J city?" Her eyes narrowed. Her voice is trying to sound mysterious.

Mel chuckled at her antics. "Anna, you do know me. I don't read rubbish news like that, and I don't give a freak about it!"

Anna rolls her eyes, "Y-you, you! The evil woman, do you think I read rubbish news every day?" she lay down on the sofa, pouting.

Mel laughed. "Hahaha... I'm sorry. I mean, well, you know what I mean. Me and celebrity gossip is like the opposite poles of a magnet."

"Mel, you are so mean! I read celebrity news because it's my job. You know, I have a lot of clients from the entertainment world, right?" she was still annoyed. "And, they are like cash cows to me, they always cause trouble, and I will be there clean up their mess." She laughed at herself happily.

On this one, Mel agrees with her. "Okay. So who is this now?" Mel pretended to be curious.

"Do you know the newcomer actor who played in Drama 'Start-Up Company'?"

Mel shook her head.

"Ah! Sorry, I forgot that you don't like watching Gossip news let alone, dramas. Anyway, his name is Andy. He's in trouble now." Anna's smile widened. She seems so happy to talk about other people's problems.

"Wait, Andy? Is it Andy Tanner? Of course, I know." Mel wanted to answer like that. But she was too lazy to talk about that bastard. So, she just kept quiet and kept listening to her friend's talking.

Seeing Mel silent, Anna continued to explain, "Andy Tanner, his name is the same as your last name. Do you know him?"

"I'm not Melanie Tanner, but Mel Tan." Since deciding to return to country X, she decided to change her name. Only those closest to her know that her real name is Melanie Tanner.

"Aah! You're right. But, whatever it is, you know Andy Tanner, right?"

Mel nodded slightly.

Anna continued her gossip while Mel occasionally nodded and made an expression as if she was interested.

Without they realize, they have chatted until midnight. Not too long after midnight, Anna finally said goodbye.

After she finishes her shower, she started to get sleepy. She laid down on the soft bed, slowly her eyelids closed

"Max, I'm so tired! Make sure nothing disturbs my sleep."

After a while,

"Max, turn off the lights."

"Huh! Boss, I thought you were asleep!?"
