Confused

The following day at school, Ethan walked into his school and noticed that everyone was looking at him. It felt like magic - a guy who was once being bullied was now becoming popular. Close beside him was Kate, and they both made their way to their different classes. Ethan sat down, feeling the weight of people's gazes upon him. Despite the attention, he managed a small smile, then decided to take a moment to rest.

As he glanced around, lost in his thoughts, Ethan suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder. Startled, he quickly opened his eyes to see Lora standing there. Their eyes met, and in that instant, a silent understanding passed between them.

"We need to talk," Lora said firmly, her gaze fixed on Ethan, who hesitated before standing up and walking with her to a quieter spot. She followed closely, standing in front of him, waiting for his response.

"What do you want? I thought I made it clear that I need you to stay away from me," Ethan spoke softly yet firmly, looking directly at Lora, who met his gaze without flinching.

Their interaction seemed to draw the attention of nearby students, but Ethan and Lora remained focused on each other.

"I don't know what the hell is going on, but please, I want you to tell me the reason why you are upset. I have done everything I could to make it up to you. Don't you see that I care about you?"

Ethan suddenly stood up, staring at her angrily.

"Then I think it's best if you don't care about me? I told you I feel sick whenever you come close to me. Stay the hell away."

Just as he was about to leave, Lora held his hands as he yelled in pain and pushed her away.

"Are you okay?" Lora asked as Ethan only stared at her and walked away.

Lora felt confused about what had just happened in class, hoping Ethan would come back, but he didn't even return until school was over.

Lora ran out of the class, looking around, feeling bad about what happened, and she just wished she could apologize.

"Lora" she turned after she heard her name and saw John walking towards her as she smiled.

"Hey," she said back to him, unable to keep looking around, worried.

"Are you okay?" John asked as Lora looked at him, worried.

"I am just looking for my friend. I think I made him upset, and because of me, he didn't come to class today, and I am worried," Lora said.

Lora, looking at John, held her hand and made her stare at him.

"You need to relax, okay? Why don't you come with me, and let me take you to a place? Maybe your friend needs some time to himself," John suggested.

Lora nodded and then started walking together with John. Just as she was about to leave the school, she saw Ethan standing with a girl. She felt surprised because all her life, she had never seen Ethan with a lady; she knew Ethan to be the shy type.

Just as she was about to walk towards him, John held her, and she turned to look at him in confusion.

"Where are you going? Don't you want to go with me anymore?" John asked.

Lora smiled as she looked at John. He might be thinking she didn't want to go with him, but she just wanted to go see Ethan.

"I just saw my friend, John. Why don't you come with me, okay?" Lora suggested.

John nodded as Lora walked over to where Ethan was. Immediately, Ethan saw her and tried to walk away, but Lora blocked his path.

"Why are you acting this way, Ethan? You left the class and didn't even come. You're never like this, Ethan. What is really happening?" Lora asked, looking at Ethan, both locking eyes for a moment before Lora could ask what was happening, John spoke up.

"Who do you say he is to you?" John asked, and Lora looked at him surprised by that question and spoke.

"He's my friend. Is something the matter?" Lora replied.

John could not stop looking at them and then he turned to look at Lora.

"I think it's best we go. Staying here is not the best option. I sense a very dark aura around your friend, and not only him, but the lady next to him as well. I think there are angels of darkness," John expressed his concern.

Just as John said that, Ethan and the lady started laughing. Ethan moved a little closer to John as they both locked eyes.

"You must be Lora's boyfriend. Don't worry, I am not trying to steal her away from you. It's so funny when you call me an angel of darkness. Tell me, have you seen one before?" Ethan said with anger simmering inside him as Lora quickly walked between them and pulled John away.

"You need to stop this John. Ethan is my friend. I know you might see him as a bad guy, but calling him a dark angel is really not nice. You need to stop, okay? I know you mean well, but I think it's best you should stop," Lora firmly stated.

After Lora said that, she turned towards Ethan, but just as she was about to talk to him, he raised his hands to silence her and then walked over to John, moving his lips closer to his ear.

"Don't worry, messenger of God. I am not yet ready, but I will soon be. Hold on tight to your friend, for she might not be with you for much longer," Ethan whispered to John before pulling away. He smiled at Lora without saying a word and walked away. Just as Lora was about to get his attention, John pulled her away as he stared at her.

"I think it's best you stay away from your friend, or else he will harm you," John warned Lora.
