"Purifying Light!"
Jon heard a woman yell out as his vision faded from the pain. He didn't know what real life had in store for him, but this virtual world only brought him to the edge of death over and over. Jon just wanted to give up and allow himself to die. He then felt a hand touch his mangled shoulder.
"Are you willing to be my follower to be healed?" A soft voice whispered into his ear.
Unable to talk, Jon gave a slight nod. It even caught him off guard. Just a few seconds ago, he was willing to give up, but as soon as someone gave him the chance to live again. Something in his soul told him to take it. Jon couldn't hear it well, but a familiar sound rang out.
*Ding* **Player Jon has become a Priestess Believer**
"Basic Heal." The Priestess cast the basic spell of healing on Jon, allowing him to heal from mortal wounds.
Jon barely lifted his finger and asked, "Please save that goblin."
While this was going on, three warriors attacked the hobgoblin and Goblin King. An archer, a warrior, and mage attacked the two creatures. Seeing as her companions had it covered, she looked at dying goblin.
"You sure?"
Jon just nodded before he drifted off. She smiled at the foolish boy, but she was glad she could save a fellow player, especially after watching so many people die in front of her. She walked over to Dirknooth and cast Basic Heal on him. The battle went on for a bit due to the Goblin King being a shaman, but the team of four eventually defeat him. Surprisingly enough, Dirknooth awoke and moved over to Jon. The Priestess kept trying to explain they were there to help, but neither party could communicate. The four decided to leave Dirknooth to guard Jon.
The day came and went, and the night covered the sky. A faint flame warmed Jon, and he awoke to see Dirknooth smiling at him and grilling. Jon also saw a notification in front of him.
***Character Quest: Kill the Goblin King (Failed)***
Jon closed the notification. He then looked at Dirknooth. "Thank you for saving me."
The goblin shook his head. "A human healed you, Jon."
Slowly the events of a priestess drifted into his head. Everything seemed like flashes of pictures. He remembered a woman asking him to be her believer. "Did a notification go off when I accepted it?" Jon opened the menu.

Jon felt like he was conned. He then looked over at Dirknooth, who was grilling and eating meat. "I'm just glad we are alive."
"I don't know how, but I glad we alive too."
**Announcement: All players still alive will be transported to purgatory until further notice. In 10...9...8...**
Seeing the announcement, Jon said to Dirknooth, "I think I'm about to go somewhere. I want to thank you for staying beside me, Dirknooth."

"Of course, Jon," Dirknooth replied, pounding his fist to his chest. Jon didn't know anything besides this world, and besides Blue, Dirknooth been his only friend.

"Goodbye, my friend," Jon said with his biggest smile. Dirknooth looked at him funny. He wondered why he was saying goodbye, but then his human companion slowly vanished before him.
