"Care?... Trust me. We do." Fumio shakes his head.
"It's just… After fucking up that war in Torres Strait, we've learned that we can't save everyone. We've learned to be contented as long as we've done enough, saved enough, to change something.
"But at the same time, our hearts have gotten a bit colder. That I admit. This is a good example." He then looks at the people they have rescued.
"When we thought that there are more than twenty demon prisons operating, we immediately sprang into action, because it involved a lot of lives.
"But once we found out that it was no longer the case, thanks to the children's efforts, we were satisfied enough that we didn't feel the need to take actions anymore and leave it to the kids." Fumio pauses, thinking if he should say what the rest of what in his mind.
Ultimately, he does.
"I'm glad that we saved these people. However, I don't really care much whether they lived or died." He concludes.
