new life ..

" it's the fate of human to live a short life " this was the only teaching I remembered my grandfather told me before he died the next day . I became an orphan at the age of 7 because he was my only relative alive till then but fortunately I lived up to 25 years old experiencing various ups and downs in my short life .

the day I died after that truck hit me , I was just betrayed by my girlfriend as I found her with a rich guy inside the bed . I chose not to hit or anything as it would be uncool and left them alone but I think that this choice was bad . after just half an hour later a truck hit me on the desolate road at night and i died . the last thing i remembered was the smiling face of my grandfather when he was telling me his last teaching and forced a little smile with the strength I had left .

but somehow I woke up inside the body of a poor 18 year old young man called adam in a completely different world and recalled all his memories with mine . I sympathized with him as he lived a way more tough life than me even though we both were poor orphans . this world was filled with cultivators and here the life of normal people were like shit . Adam didnt manage to encounter a teacher who could teach him how to cultivate and he didnt even possess any connections that could help him to join any establishments of cultivators like guild , sect etc . so he chose herb picking as his main job and died alone inside the forest when a powerful beast attacked him without much resistance .

nothing happened for a while when I woke up in this new world and assimilated the memories completely. just when I had accepted my new reality was despairing at the bleak looking future , I heard a robotic voice inside my mind and my whole life changed .

I could be considered a fan of novels and functions and really wanted to become like those protagonists who enjoyed life and became stronger easily with the help of golden fingers . the same happened to me as the emotionless voice belong to my system . I was happy by this fortune and the dark mood was completely replaced by hope as I imagined crushing my future enemies and fucking celestial beauties .

I shouted out loud with all my might and tears involuntarily dropped down from my eyes as I looked at the humongous trees surrounding me . from the light that managed to pass through the thick leaves , I was able to see the beauty of nature that was soothing for eyes. I looked at my bloodied clothes, they were no different from rags now and confirmed that all the wounds had healed . I didnt dwell on that matter as I was smiling with the surging power inside my body despite the fact that Adam didn't cultivate.

I was novice to cultivation but even so I could tell one thing that I had hit the jackpot after hearing the description about divine physique and non attribute affinity . but I was clueless about the 10000 DP so I immediately asked system about it ..

I facepalmed myself as I didnt pay attention to the functions of my system . well I was just too happy and forgot about it. so I sat down and closed my eyes and saw the system inside mind . it was plain as only words- map , observe , duplication , inventory were hanging in the air . system told me that I could just imagine one function and all the description would be known immediately so I immediately did that .

the map function was simple just like those in RPG games . I just had to imagine and the map would appear and only i would be able to see it . it was convenient as i could search for any place , item , person etc anytime and know their present location instantly .

the inventory function was to store things inside it and i could take them out with just a thought whenever I need them .

with the observe function I could know everything about any item and simple information about a person like their age , weakness etc . the best thing was that disguised and illusion were useless when I used this function on anyone .

the duplication function was the i loved the most . it was because i could use it to duplicate cultivation resources like herbs ,pills or even scrolls indefinitely as long as i paid the necessary DP . the more amazing fact was that I just needed a small piece of the item to replicate it and the product of the system would be of the best quality . for example I could touch a damaged herb or just the dregs and system would scan it in an instant . then I would just have to pay the DP required and the best quality herb would appear inside my inventory . so of course I was eager to try duplicating anything now .

but I paused as I had to return to the small house where adam lived . it would take 2 hours to return there by running all the way . this was the outer part of the forest and only low level beasts roamed here but any of then would be able to insta kill me and I definitely wouldn't wait for the night before leaving the forest as they would be out for blood at that time . so I didnt bother washing the blood of my rags and started running following the safe route according to system map ..
