Zhang Wei and Qin Tian sat opposite each other, with Qin Tian initiating the conversation by asking, "Why did you, a servant of the Long family, come to me?" Zhang Wei corrected him, stating, "Actually, I am not a servant of the Long family. I am a servant of the Chi family and came to the Long family with Madam Chi, the second miss of the Long family and my name is Zhang Wei"
Qin Tian appeared to understand and Zhang Wei continued, "I did not come to you on behalf of either the Long family or Chi family. I came to you for myself to make a deal with you."
Qin Tian looked puzzled and asked, "What kind of deal?"
Zhang Wei smiled and said, "Young Master Qin, I am not sure if you aspire to cultivate immortality or not. The deal I am proposing to you will give you the opportunity to become immortal, should you accept it."
Upon hearing this, Qin Tian mocked, "Oh, so the chance to become immortal has become so cheap that even a servant can offer it to me?"
Qin Tian suspected that Zhang Wei was trying to take advantage of his difficult situation, as he had been abandoned by his family.
Zhang Wei realized that Qin Tian had misunderstood and explained, "As far as I know, there are three kinds of aristocratic families in the mortal world: Mortal Aristocrat families, Pseudo-Immortal Aristocrat families, and Immortal Aristocrat families."
He went on to explain, "Immortal Aristocrat families are those who have a direct connection with families in the immortal world, and they are the true controllers of the mortal world. Mortal Aristocrat families are those who have certain power in the mortal world but no ties with the immortal world. And in between these two types of families lies your Qin family. A semi-mortal and semi-immortal family that has an agreement with certain immortal world families about certain things."
Zhang Wei further clarified, "Your Qin family is a pseudo-family that also has an agreement with an immortal family. According to this agreement, after a certain number of years, a limited number of Qin family warriors will have the opportunity to go to the immortal world and become a disciple of a certain family or sect. After making significant progress in their cultivation, they will return to the Qin family and become the supporting pillar of the family. Am I right, Young Master Qin?"
Qin Tian nodded in agreement.
Zhang Wei continued, "As far as I know, those chosen for this opportunity must be geniuses with cultivation aptitude. Your Qin family checks a person's cultivation aptitude by giving them a cultivation technique and testing how fast they can cultivate. You know your situation well, Young Master Qin. You were once considered an unparalleled genius because you could cultivate that technique very quickly. But now that you are unable to cultivate, you are worse than a servant in the eyes of the Qin family, even though you are the son of the patriarch. Do you think the Qin family will choose you instead of others to go to the immortal world? You know it won't be you."
Zhang Wei paused and waited for Qin Tian to respond, but Qin Tian remained silent, indicating that he agreed with everything Zhang Wei had said.
Zhang Wei continued, "You also know this fact, but you are not reconciled to this fact. You believe that if you can reach the immortal world, you can solve the problem of being unable to cultivate. You participated in the Long family's immortal trial because you hoped that if you were selected by the immortal, you could change your fate. However, you were rejected."
Qin Tian's eyes narrowed as he looked at Zhang Wei with cold intensity. "Don't waste my time. Get to the point," he said in a low voice.
Zhang Wei reached into his pocket and retrieved a milky white bead with a dazzling golden glow. He held it out for Qin Tian to examine and asked, "Do you recognize what this is?"
Qin Tian shook his head, indicating that he did not.
Zhang Wei proceeded to explain, "This is an inheritance bead. It contains a cultivation technique that can change your fate."
Qin Tian was taken aback, wondering how someone like Zhang Wei could acquire such a supreme treasure. Although he had never personally been to the immortal world, as a direct descendant of the Qin family, he had some knowledge of things in the immortal world. While he had never seen an inheritance bead before, he had heard of their existence.
It's worth noting that there are three methods of storing cultivation techniques: cheat books, jade slips, and inheritance beads. Among these, inheritance beads are the most valuable, as they contain only the most exceptional cultivation techniques. While expensive techniques are stored in jade slips, priceless ones are stored in beads.
Unlike jade slips, which store information using physical means, inheritance beads use the soul to pass on knowledge. When a powerful cultivator is nearing the end of their life, they separate a part of their soul containing their knowledge and store it within the bead for future generations of supreme talents. The process of separating the soul is excruciatingly painful for the creator of the inheritance bead, but they endure it for the benefit of future generations. Some cultivation techniques are so intricate that it can take even a genius a significant amount of time to comprehend them, let alone cultivate them. However, with an inheritance bead, one can understand everything about the technique simply by absorbing the part of the stored soul.
Qin Tian's expression turned serious as he gazed at the inheritance bead in Zhang Wei's hand. "Do you realize the gravity of what you're holding?" he asked in a grave tone. "This bead is priceless, and anyone would kill to get their hands on it. Even I would not hesitate to take it from you."
Despite his surprise, Qin Tian remained calm and collected, waiting for Zhang Wei to continue.
Zhang Wei smiled faintly, a glint of amusement in his eyes. "I have faith in your character, young master Qin," he replied calmly. "I don't think you have any reason to kill me."
Qin Tian raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the servant's confidence. "What makes you think I have no reason to kill you? Isn't this bead reason enough?" he asked pointedly.
Zhang Wei's smile grew. "I'm here to offer you this bead, and there's a small condition attached that won't harm you," he explained. "I have no ill intentions towards you, young master Qin. I simply wish to make a deal that will benefit us both. Besides, I've taken precautions. I've left something with the Long family that will inform them of this bead and our meeting, in case anything happens to me. So I'm not worried about being killed by you for this bead. Killing me will do you more harm than good."
