Growing up as the youngest, not only in her family, but in her entire village, Kara had always felt lonely. Even when Cairo and Ramses left their manly duties to play with her, while comforting, it never filled the void because they didn’t quite understand her. Neither did she understand why she was the only one without wrinkles or gray hair. The loneliness had plagued her through her entire life, but it had unknowingly made her stronger.
For it was that loneliness that gave her the strength to smile in the face of adversity, and tell her family that everything was okay. She was so used to shouldering her own burdens, being her own listener and confidant, keeping secrets with the goal of protecting them was not a problem.
