"She opened her eyes!"
Melanie heard the unclear voice as soon as she opened her eyes and she closed them back. She felt really sore and sad. What could be wrong?
Everything that had happened in the past few days crept her head slowly and she hissed loudly then opened her eyes to see everybody, speaking of everybody, she meant, Melinda, Kyle, Elle, Tyler, Camila, Reld, Devon including Keegan and Cece.
She groaned as she tried to sit up and Kyle hurriedly helped her to sit on the bed.
"Is something wrong? Shouldn't you guys be with Flynn? Did something happen? Is he awake? What is it?" Melanie muffled.
"See, sister-in-law, if you are told to eat something or sleep, if you refuse, I will be really mad at you!" Elle said in a firm voice and Melanie creased her brow.
"What…"
"Sis, brother will be fine. All of us can't wait to see him recover. You were unconscious for over eight hours. Think about your condition. Brother will be very sad if he wakes up and something had happened to you or your baby. Please, sister-in-law," Kyle interrupted.
"Ugh! I'm fine, guys. Is that the reason everybody stay here? Someone should be with my husband. Well, it's fine, now that I've woken up, I will go and sit beside my husband," Melanie said and prepared to stand from the bed.
"Stay where you are, Lanie," Melinda ordered.
"Why are you guys like this? I have to go to Flynn," Melanie creased her brow.
"Leaving this ward, you are going back home. You've been stressed enough. You've fainted twice ever since brother has been admitted. You are going home and that is final," Elle snapped and Melanie furrowed her brow.
"I am not leaving this hospital till my husband opens his eyes. You guys should just let me be and mind what is important to you," Melanie retorted.
"I don't care how angry you are or how angry you might get. You are going home," Elle rolled her eyes.
Melanie knew she was never going to win against all these people but what was she going to do?
All she wanted is to be with her man.
"Come on, guys… I want to be with Flynn," Melanie whispered soberly.
"We know, we understand that you want to be with Flynn but you must be fine in other to be with him. We know you love Flynn and we love him too. But you know how Flynn is, if he wakes up and found out that something had happened to you, he will never forgive himself. He will blame himself. You know that. The doctor said you need to rest and eat as much as you can. Please, I will not also be at peace if anything bad happens to my brother's wife. Please, Lanie…" Kyle twitched his mouth and Melanie inhaled deeply.
"You guys are making me feel bad," Melanie bowed slightly.
"We care for you, Lanie. We really do," Melinda whispered and sat on the bed beside Melanie and pulled her closer.
"You need to be fine, you must be fine. Flynn would be glad to see you in nice shape when he wakes up. Huh, my child, think about your baby and husband."
"Mummy…" Melanie sobbed.
"Please, my child," Melinda stroked her hair gently.
"I've heard you guys, but let me see him before I go home, and don't think you will always have your way. I will be here tomorrow," Melanie pulled away and her mother chuckled.
"That's more like you."

"By the time I return tomorrow, I want to see you sitting, smiling, and waiting for me. Else, tsk… I don't know what I might do," Melanie kissed his hand.
"Let's go, Lanie, it's getting late," Elle said and Melanie glared at her.
"I love you so much, hubby. I really do," Melanie stood up and kissed his hair gently so that she won't have to touch the life-supporting machine that he was attached to.
The drive back to the mansion was a very silent one, Melanie refused to say any word to Elle even though the latter was trying to talk to her.
The only person on her mind was her husband.
She was craving for a lot of things because of the pregnancy but the only person she could disturb and get spoiled for was sick and fighting for his life.
Tsk… ever since she had married Flynn, everything had been so complicated for her. First, it was Camila, then Zach, her husband's sickness, even Hazel.
Well, she did not regret that she is married to Flynn.
She just wished for a normal relationship like every other person she knew.
No trials, no tribulations, no ups, no down, no villain, just Flynn, and Melanie. That's what she ever wanted.
Was she asking for too much?
Ugh, she just wished to be happy with the man she loved for the rest of her life. For the rest of their lives.
Hmm.
She sighed deeply and Elle took her hand in hers.
"You should not think too much. Brother will be fine, just have faith in that. Come on…" Elle nudged her gently and smiled at her.
"I know. I believe that. I just can't wait for him to be fine," Melanie forced a smile and Elle stroked her hair gently.
"He will be fine."
Elle ordered the maids to prepare dinner for Melanie and her when they arrived home which makes Melanie nauseous that she rushed to vomit everything she had.
"Sister-in-law…" Elle panicked as she rushed inside the bathroom.
She helped her wash her face and led her to the living room and made her sit on the most comfortable couch there.
"Are you good? Should I pull off the AC?" Elle asked.
"No, I'm good."
"Is the meal not okay? Should I have the maids prepare another one?" Elle bit her finger.
"I want pizza."
"Pizza? Okay, I will place it on order now," Elle answered and removed her phone from her pocket.
"And burger," Melanie sighed.
"Huh?"
"Yes and ice cream. It has been so long I have grilled meat too. I want that," Melanie inhaled deeply.
"You want to eat all of that?" Elle creased her brow in confusion.
"Huh. I'm so shameless, right? My husband is dying. Tsk… I would like to have chicken soup too," Melanie exhaled.
Wait, is this what they call pregnancy hormones?
Elle frowned her face.
'Wow, this is crazy.'
"Okay, I've ordered everything. It will arrive soon," Elle nodded her head.

The next morning…
Melanie stood by the poolside the next morning, watching the waves from the large swimming pool calmed her mind a little.
She had called her mother when she woke up and she had said Flynn was still unconscious.
Quite better than waking up to a piece of bad news, right?
Hmm. She inhaled deeply.
"Enjoying the view?"
She heard the unmistakable voice of Hazel and she suddenly felt pissed off.
"You can say that," she glanced at Hazel who stood right next to her.
"Tsk… I knew everything was just an act. You should join a movie industry. I do appreciate raw talent," Hazel smirked and Melanie turned to look at her.
"Everyone is not like you," Melanie smiled then turned to walk away.
"Let me just give you a lifetime of advice," Hazel started and Melanie stopped walking.
"Everyone in this house trust you. Abscond with his money. I can help you do that. Trust me, no one will…"
"You crazy desperado bitch!" Melanie whisper-shouted and slapped Hazel hard across her face.
"Look, Hazel Giovanna. I am not like you. I am Melanie and I love my husband with every bit of me. Don't you ever talk this nonsense in front of me," Melanie hissed loudly then turned to walk away?
"I am just trying to give you a chance before it gets too late. What will become of you if your husband did not wake forever? Tsk… at least, think about the baby in your womb," Hazel chuckled and Melanie clenched her fist tightly.
"What did you just say?"
"I said you should take my advice, your husband might never wake up from his deep sleep. Who knows…?"
"How dare you!"
Melanie screamed, she walked towards her and slapped her hard across her face then pushed her into the pool with all the strength she had in her.
"Hey! B!TCH! I can't fucking swim!" Hazel screamed.
Melanie turned a deaf ear then walked away.
"Get me out of here!" Hazel screamed, fighting hard in the water.
