Chapter Seventy

Alex forced herself to smile at people she didn't know at all. Adrian—she doesn't know where the man hit his head—suddenly invited her to attend a dinner held by his business partner. Her fiancée even said it in front of her parents so that she could not express her various reasons for refusing. Whereas usually he is not at all interested in events like this and orders his manager to attend,

"Mr. Rances, this is Alex. My fiancé."

Alex shook the middle-aged man with corn-colored hair, smiling. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Rances."

The man smiled warmly at her. "I hope I can accept your wedding invitations," he said.

"Of course you will," Adrian said with a small smile. "I'll send it as soon as it's finished printing."

Adrian and the man made small talk for a few minutes before Mr. Rances excused himself to go because his acquaintance had called him.

"I'm quite close to him," said her lover.
